Four Color Reduction - Screenprint!
มุมมอง 1.8K4 ปีที่แล้ว
The step-by-step process of creating a four-color reduction print with screen filler. With reduction screen-prints you build on the same basic stencil for each layer, progressively painting out more and more, for a gradual reduction of the printing area. Generally you work from lighter to darker colors. Music by www.bensound.com

Sgraffito!!
มุมมอง 3794 ปีที่แล้ว
The sgraffito process is similar in some ways to etching, scratching through a coating to reveal something underneath. Typically this happens with a ground, and then the plate is put in acid, but here we are using acrylic paint over colored pencil. Homemade scratchboard!

Printing Potato Stamps and Lino Stamps
มุมมอง 1114 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I show how to print stamps with screenprint ink...basically a looser version of acrylic paint. If you have acrylic paint it should work if you add a tiny bit of water to thin it.

Thank you very much for this tutorial. Well done!
Is that a map?
I’m sorry I didn’t understand what you said where you explain how you burned the image onto the screen can you please explain thank you
What is the difference between Collagraph prints and Mono prints
Collagraph is a type of textural matrix you create with collaged materials, and can ink it up in a variety of ways. Monotype is a technique where you work on plexi to achieve either painterly or stenciled results. 'Mono' means one, so in some ways one of a kind collographs are also monoprints, but I tend to think of them as different processes.
Hi Lauren! You don't have a link to the Amazon seller that supplies those pochoir by chance brushes do you? Thanks for this great tutorial!
Hi Solomon! I believe it was a Chalk Mountain palm brush? A lot of brushes that are used for stencilling are good because they're a little stiffer and intended to be used in a different way than a typical paint brush.
Great demo. Your work looks great too!

Super-creative drawing talent!👏
Lovely demo! Trace monotype is great fun and your work as always is lovely.

Can you please tell me the brand of the brush and what department in Amazon that you bought it? I can't find anything like it.
They were furniture wax brushes...Chalk Mountain was the brand.
@@laurenk8766 I found them and absolutely love them. Thanks.
Thanks .btw which paper have u used - ?
Thanks for the great video. Do you use color pencil to retouch? I could not hear the part well.
Yes, you can for sure draw over the acrylic paint with colored pencil.
@@laurenk8766 Thanks! And do you add water to acrylic?
@@mm-sj7fk Yes, a little bit. It should be kind of a sludgy consistency...If it's too thick it won't have the delicate soft look.

Who here for art class
😍
Could you list materials used?
Lauren, I love this. Where did you get the screen? Have never screen printed before. Also, could gouache be used? Thanks
Hola.
Thank you for sharing this technique! What kind of papers do you use?
For this I believe I was using Arnhem 1618. Stonehenge would work well too, or even Bristol.
Lauren your videos are so good. Simple and clear. You might be my favorite printmaking channel.
Thank you!!
Lauren - thank you so much for sharing this - I am amazed that there are not a lot more comments viewing of this.
Excellent demonstration on this technique. I think layering color is where trace monotype shines. What is the paper are you are drawing on here? and are you mixing any transparent base into your colors?
Thanks Hannah! I agree, layering helps trace to achieve some great color mixing...almost like colored pencil. Yes to the transparent base! And I believe for this print I was using Rives Heavyweight.
I always use Japanese paper with this. I am shocked you got these kind of delicate lines using heavy weight paper
@@hannahskoonberg it's not like regular print paper, it's sort of in between Japanese papers and standard print paper in terms of weight. It's weird because it's called "heavyweight" but it's only like 90 lb I think?
@@laurenk8766 thanks for clarifying
Wonderful demo! Thanks, Lauren!
