The kona airport is my favorite airport in the whole world. There is nothing that says you have arrived in Hawaii like that first step on the tarmac.

No, they have a snow machine to make the snow for the tubing. It was a warm December and they hadn’t opened the skiing there yet. The tubing sells out well in advance so if you’re interested, check their website around Oct or Nov

It’s a shame you guys had a bad time with check-in…we went only about a month and a half later than you guys (May 8-14) and they had almost no restrictions left…You guys had a bit of a better view than we did, but the one bedroom villa is just a nice amount of space to spend a week in for a family of four (although my “kids” are actually adults now, we still had a nice time)…Thanks for sharing your experience!
Thanks. It was a little bit of a shame they started relaxing all the restrictions right as we were leaving, but it still didn't take away very much from what was such a great trip.
