    Hello. I hope you find this message. I would like to know how your kukui is doing after six years. I live in Japan and bought a small kukui planted in a tiny flower pot from someone in Okinawa. It came in a small water bottle, but when I put it outside during the summer, it grew a lot and is now about 7 feet tall. I had to transplant it twice during the summer. It is in the house now because it will snow soon. I should plant it in my garden but it will die during the cold winter. Is your kukui still in a pot? How tall is it now? (I guess you are in Hawaii or somewhere tropical).

    • @ThePlantCollector
      @ThePlantCollector 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@taco9344 Hello! My kukui nut tree sadly withered away because I didn't pay enough attention to it. Life got very busy for me and I was a bit scattered mentally and before I knew it, my kukui nut tree dried up. I tried to save it but I think it was too far gone. I will have to re-try growing a kukui nut tree. I do know now that it will continue to grow in a pot for several years but it will eventually need to go into the ground. Maybe when it is 5yrs old you cant plant it outside early in the spring and who knows, it might just grow strong enough to survive the winter! Best of luck to you my friend. 🤙 Stay tuned for the next kukui nut video. Aloha!

      @@ThePlantCollector Mahalo for your reply. I am sorry to hear that your kukui died. I did the same thing to my ilima. It got spider mites, so I separated it from the other plants, and I totally forgot about it. When I noticed, it had dried up. My kukui is now in the house, and the bottom leaves have turned yellow. It could just be time for the old leaves to fall, but it might also be a little cold for the tree. I will bring it into the living room, which is the warmest room in my house. The tree is taller than the door height, so it will be a challenge. Next year, I will try not to transplant it into a bigger pot if possible. I think transplanting promotes its growth. It was on my dinner table in April, and after I brought it outside (and gave it some fertilizer), it grew and grew, and I ended up transplanting it twice this year. Anyway, mahalo again for your comment, and I hope you will find another kukui to enjoy!

    What l'm seeing on the internet is that SOURSOP is a cancer-fighting fruit. I have eaten it in Indonesia but never knew of the health benefits. @@john-di1mz The "scientific studies" haven't yielded enough proof on this plant's cancer-fighting properties but the historical-cultural proof is significant! My wife was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in early 2023. We let the oncologists and nurses do their part as we simultaneously did our part by drinking soursop leaf tea every day and ate the fruit whenever it ripened- right off of the tree. We also ate about 2 tablespoons-full of the aloe vera plant every day to combat mouth, throat, and stomach ulcers that may occur from induction and chemotherapy. We did'nt encounter any mouth, throat, or stomach problems throughout the entire processes of induction and chemotherapy. Although our bodies react differently to certain things, I did these things with my wife so that I would know that if something came up from what we were consuming, I'd know what it was. My wife has been in remission since she completed induction which was only approximately a month after finding out that she had AML. We are so grateful to God, the hospital staff, and nature for this second chance to stay healthy and ALIVE. We still drink soursop tea as often as we can and we love eating the fruit! Every now and then, we'll have some aloe just to keep our stomachs functioning as best as they can. Thank YOU for watching and for your kind words 🤙
