The best explanation/video of Solid rocket motor operation and principles. Every word seems carefully measured and chosen for simple and clear explanation. Just superb and absolutely brilliant.
Is the noise sent for the test a recording of a rocket? Or pink noise?
the background music bumps hard
1:00 I'd be interested in any information about this brief video sequence featuring soldiers with rifles quietly navigating a foggy nighttime environment. It looks the same as a sequence in the intro to an old video game called Delta Force 2 and got me curious as to what it was originally filmed for and why.
This is how you teach the basic rocket propulsion. Education used to be serious.
The air force major with the head set is my uncle ! Harold Meyers, B-26 pilot during ww2. Know all the asturnots, was the real deal!! T.b.
😊😅
Little is known or remembered of Thor sixty of which were stationed here in the UK from 1958 to 1963.
They would probably have been used, along with Victor & Vulcan bombers, if the Cuban Crisis had developed into a war. Harrington RAF base is not far from where I live, it was a UK Thor base. It has been preserved as a grade 2 listed site, farmers and landowners cannot dismantle or destroy it, it is a historic monument, as such.. not much remains of it but it is recognisable as a Thor launch site, the concrete structures remain
@@smitbar11 Thanks for your input. As a teenager I grew up in North Lincolnshire surrounded by Thor and V sites and family holidays were spent at Flamborough, E Yorks ditto. My late Father in Law as Chief Tech RAF worked on Thor through the entire project which included two trips to the US for him. We had many chats about his service which led to my interest in the subject.
Was there till the closing. Moved to Albqu NM. with STEC
That was disclosure
I was there from 71-75. as a bird buffer operator and in the off line area. A lot of that equipment looked more modern than when I was there. The only areas I recognized was the front door and ACES.
"Rarefied atmosphere of outerspace !" Wow what an intuition. Just now hearing this word
Kick ass!!! 👍
... add 20+ years to Aerospace Corporation now!
The Peacekeeper fortunately never had to become the peacemaker.
Ah, Hollywood AFB.
Wow, don't know why this popped up in my youtube queue, but my first job as an engineer was with DMSP. Joined the program in East Windsor and helped transition the program to Sunnyvale. Those were amazing times ......
It’s probably a sign that the algorithm knows your previous background and so sent you the video as a nudge. This AI stuff is getting pretty good.

China and Russia might get a moon base in the 2030 's but i dont think so
Ive made a lot of people rich. Don’t rip me off.
Riches will not help save your immortal soul only repentance and faith in Christ will bring us eternal life😊
I never even needed to do this but I did for my son, Aden. Don’t leave me to rot at mother’s house. Aden still lives with his mother in Lacey. You know where we live so come and get us. So far Kristen Stuart has done a fantastic job in controlling the pain and wait time that should never have even happened. I need equipment and resources. I need stuff and you better not be claimjumping me because It’s already been prospected. There’s no need to be out there unless you have proper PPE and you literally work for me. This is not a gold rush. There have been nomnomnomnillions of dollars made from my mind so to put it in perspective I Aaron Lewis Morrow am the wealthiest individual in the history of mankind. Thanks also to your highnesses excellency the CamelSpidemperor et. Alia.
No David, keep your hands out of my pockets. I’m not making counterfeit ship from the FED. Someone needs a class on quantum smelting planchettes. I’m not with the public. I’m the owner. Get over here and get me out of my friggen mom’s house! This isn’t a general public issue. This is a mining issue and i refuse to be regulated by some POS SEC group. Not even mad. Jussay’n my new toothpaste came out. Leave my mother alone because youre causing her a lot of pain and anguish.
Good luck in your 20 and back.
I, Cyprina Alva(80-83) 2nd floor, and my husband Henry Madrid(79-84)supply, met and married while working at the SAFS "blue cube" We were sad to see all is gone now. in 2017 a few Airmen who worked there in the 80's met on a cruise to talk about old times. was a lot of fun.
⭐⭐🌟⭐⭐
I didn't see any date on this film but it appears to have been done in the late 70s. The "Blue Cube" and associated power plant (constructed 68-69) are in the footage but the adjoining MCC buildings with the lower level parking (they were Buildings 10031 and 10032) are not yet present. Worked there 88-92.
The film has to be post April 12th, 1981 since it contains footage of the STS-1 launch.
Don't feel bad if you don't understand it... this is literally rocket science!

Excellent!
They gave it to us so they can track us.
It's one way, you'd need a second form of communication to give your location away.
You would think more Airmen would go for this degree!! IT'S FREE FOOL!!
Kick azz you know he is tried steal
Was there 1974 to 77 Ground Station and Timing
This is an early version of Atlas, with four booster engines instead of two.

Thanks for sharing 👍
0:51 - an Eagle with turkey feathers. That's a rare sight!
I was there 01-04 working at the clinic. My first base.
nice with Palantir they will be the gold standard
Can you guarantee "a day without space" will never happen? I didnt know that was in question.
the last 30 seconds are emotional...
Very nice shots, thanks ! Go Atlas!
Great stuff, thanks for posting !
Himagine a modern day nerd trying to run that equipment with out a touch screen and a drop down menu... :-)
Imagine trying to explain modern CPU architectures or quantum computing or neural networks to an out-of-touch boomer... :-)
I like these old military flicks
To be fair, I don't think enough credit went to the engineers that built the missile and guidance system. The pilot had a fun time flying high up into the air and pressed a few buttons from memory. The structural engineers, navigation, and mathematics that went into building the missile seem more impressive.
I worked at SAFS (later Onizuka AFB) from 1975 to late 1979 in the AF. Then another 10 years with Lockheed.
The music is horrendous y'all.
