The 905er Podcast
Canada
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 11 ส.ค. 2021
The 905er is a news, politics and discussion podcast for the GTHA region focusing on the region outside central Toronto where 4 million people live, but where news coverage and discussion seems often hardly to exist. We aim to provide a lively weekly podcast featuring interviews with people in the news, round-table discussions, analysis and more.
905 Round-Up: We Call Out Doug Ford on his A-S-S
The last week has seen many out-of-touch comments on the part of Ontario's Premier, Doug Ford.
A visit to Hamilton saw him brush off criticism of his failure of the housing file by stating that the plight of homeless encampments in 905 cities would be solved if those living there got off their quote 'A-S-S' and applied for jobs. The fallback position of him to a Ronald Reaganesque quote demonstrates how out of touch he is with the problems his lack of action has caused on the number one problem of the province.
Not letting that statement stand alone though, later in the week, Ford announced a multi-billion boondoggle in the waiting of promising to build a tunnel under the 401 from Brampton to Scarborough to alleviate traffic on Canada's busiest stretch of highway. Rough estimates state that it could cost over $100 Billion. Not to mention the fact that government projects never end on time. The money could be spent infinitely more wisely and have a better impact on Ontarians.
This week we have to look at the staggering incompetence and realize that when it comes to the people of Ontario, we are last in priorities for this Ontario PC government.

Downtown Hamilton’s Future
มุมมอง 1519 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
It seems that downtown Hamilton has been under fire for the last few months. The federal tax court recently shut down citing gun violence. Tent encampments are a feature in city parks, and most recently the President of LiUNA made the outrageous claim that busloads of homeless people were being brought into the city to take advantage of services in the downtown core. The problems downtown Hamil...

An expos fan, some sort of kiwi and some guy that doesn't know the show started yet. Is he the show member from Ontario?
Any Ontarians in the house?
Doug Ford goes with the votes rather than his own personal interests. Why is that a bad thing? Do we want another McGuinty who stays the course and costs the province billions in order to save 3 seats, because the NIMBY's in Niagara weren't happy? Or do we prefer Wynne, who tried to sweep for McGuinty?
You want to rethink this one after he's spent Ontario into more of a deficit. Given hundreds of millions of dollars to Big Corp Breweries to get out of a deal that was set to expire in two years. Unable to find doctors, schools crumbling and nothing being done on housing. Rent is skyrocketing here due to his policies of privatization of post-secondary. Also, every policy of the Liberals he came in and reversed to the cost of millions of dollars he's put back into action. Also have you checked your energy bill since Ford's come to power? It's more expensive than it was under McGuinty or Wynne. Just FYI.
@@905erPodcast Worse than Wynne and McGuinty costing us how much to save those 4 seats after canceling the plant? Compounded with Trudeau on a national level, I will not be voting liberal.
@@905erPodcast At least $828m on that one f*ck up. Then all the sweeping to cover it up.
Non-existent. The future is on China
Why go all the way to Florida to see what privatizing liquor sales looks like, just look to Alberta. It was never said that they were going to do away with the LCBO. The unions are worried because they will have less leverage in future negotiations if you can buy liquor at outlets other than LCBO.
First off I was on vacation in Florida. And this isn't about privatization of liquor sales, its about giving the distribution model to the Weston family
I've been saying make the LCBO a distilribution only system, as they have access to liqour and wines that wouldn't otherwise be available. Let corner stores buy sales licenses, sell it and make alcohol available that way. It's not like corner stores don't already know their customers and families.
Something shady is an understatement but you hit it on the head!! I'm a 56 year old Caucasian male and I haven't been able to find a job in 5 months despite having submitted over 85 resumes! Sorry I went off topic but man I'm beyond frustrated with Ontario and Canada!! Keep up the great topics!! ❤
Ontario line stupid and unnecessary..real issues are not addressed..corruption rampant.
What filter you use to make your forehead that big ?
Here’s the thing if you infringe upon peoples charter rights of course they’re going to be upset.
What charter rights are you refering to?
Ontario loves conservatives because they do a good job. They do not spend stupidly.
And yet every single conservative government in Canada, has left office with greater debt and ruined services
Remember when Trudy pushed out two female PM’s? Where’s the outrage???
This is absolute garbage.
Pierre, the generator of anger and hate. Professional politician who is an opportunist. Fair election minister who tried to suppress voting.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
With everything the liberals have done, they don't deserve one once of respect.
BS, you're just upset because you're exposed for all your corruption and your lies. liberals Must go.
The institution is corrupt and doesn't deserve respect... We need change.
110% true. Respect is earned, and so is the utter disgust and hatred most Canadians now have for Canada's political establishment.
Nothing will come out of this lawsuit. The Ford Government has been sued multiple times before over this without success. This lawsuit is no different. The judicial system is owned by the ruling government & the oligarch class who are opposed to any form of social supports.
The Ford government lost a lawsuit over their cancellation of the contract between the Ontario government and wind turbine and solar panel manufacturers when they were first elected, with the cancelation of the Green Energy Act.

Human say no to genocide.
However, people are saying that calling for peace in the middle east is anti Semitic. I'm sorry, it is NOT anti Semitic to call for an end to the genocide in Palestine.
America is a melting pot. It's not cultural appropriation, it's assimilation. Every culture here is our culture.

Computer driven flexible buses powered by electric batteries are now available. These would save a billion dollars on tracks that reduce lanes. And save a billion dollars on tLRT trains. And a billion dollars on opersting train costs.
Where are these in operation?

people can have beliefs that differ and work and live in harmony. i agree with @andyb619
Why do you want to work at a specifically religious school if you don’t want to uphold that specific religion? Stop complaining and whining.
Because sometimes you just need to work. And why should we let a priest have any say on how public tax dollars are spent?
@@905erPodcast You’re not qualified for the job if you’re not going to teach and example the religious beliefs of a religious school
What are you talking about here?
So political agendas are allowed on the left but not the right? Bruh listen to yourselves.
Wow, missed the point entirely didn't you?

They are there, just need to keep up, thanks for listening!
Showing the reality of abortion is necessary. Just like drivers ed programs showing horrible accidents. Young people need to understand the gravity of making certain decisions and what the outcomes are.
Drivers Ed programs do not show graphic depictions of bodies in accidents. Shouldn't they have the final say on whether or not they wish to view such material regardless?
@@905erPodcast yes they do. I had to watch a video called "room to live" showing the importance of seatbelts and air bags. It showed numerous accidents.
Nda’s are a payoff for everyone to be quiet. No one said you have to like it, but its fair. One side gets what they want and the other side cant complain about it.
She's an interesting person to interview but I wouldn't consider Kerri Black a representative of a 905 voter. People who radicalized from the pandemic/mandates are their set of voters separate from the median 905 voter who doesn't like carbon taxes, is seeing housing prices become more unaffordable and despises food inflation.
Agreed. I'd like to hear from someone who voted Liberal in the previous election who now says they'll vote Conservative.
just found your podcast! Really enjoyable, keep it up!
Awesome, thank you!
Doug Fords selling ontario to the highest bidder and no one seems to care. I think we should be talking about the cult of personality that has a sizeable amount of the population that is programmed to hate anything liberal and ignore any wrongdoings by conservative governments.
you dont need to know the past to object to a current fucking genocide
Except your vin is located on like 10 different spots on the car
True, but it only needs to be replaced on the windshield, and doors typically as those are the most commonly viewed spots. People find out once they take their car to a mechanic that a car is stolen, at which point its too late.
They'd better keep looking for a leader because it sure isn't Hsu.
