Do not have a working parental relationship. One parent has always handled things for the child when together and after breakup. However, the child is as emotionally attached to one parent as the other. But... one parent is very destructive verbally, does not financially support adequately, refuses offerings of additional time, and speaks poorly about other parent to/around child. Not a positive influence- tells the young child: "I'm going to take other parent back to court and make things fair", "i will be going to jail because of other parent".... Most of the time someone isn't always good or always bad, but the mental and emotional health of a child can be dependent upon what a parent speaks into a child.

Fast forward 3 nearly 4 years random FaceTime call with our 7&9 year old boys who live in a one bedroom studio apartment with their dad all I could hear was their dad screaming and hitting the table with his fist or the wall I couldn’t see I just told them to go in the bedroom and stay out of the way. He’s trying to say since I moved out of state with the kids( violation ) don’t worry I’ve been punished by only being allowed to see my kids 1 weekend a month supervised at my parents home , not able to leave for the last year I fly to Michigan btw no counseling for the kids that I requested and told our custody evaluator January 2024 I believe it’s in their best interest and for future reference in high conflict cases such as mine has turned into, I think it should be mandatory weekly counseling for minor children. 9 months later and my current attorney requesting updates since May 2024 we get this report back end of August 2024 inaccurate information, missing information, my parents nor his mother were interviewed the kids were interviewed at the F.O.C. Instead of at school father took them in I’m sure the bribes were great she says the domestic violence was dropped to a lesser charge and that the kids should remain in Michigan even though I’ve been the SAHM since they were born and he was out of the house since October of 2019. Since June of 2023 he took them to Michigan for summer break with every intention of bringing them back even via text that I submitted to the evaluator and still my evidence holds no weight? There’s what they call parental alienation big time happening as well. My calls are monitored, limited and sometimes he tries to argue I’ve got a recording of that as well. What is my best course of action and what would you focus on the most ? There other evidence and documentation of course…. I just want another opinion. I can’t find a calculator online which determines how much of my military retirement pay my former spouse is entitled to. We were married for 11 years and 10 months while I was serving and I retired with 20 years and 5 months. The court determined 34% of my retirement pay would go to her. Isn’t this amount too much if the maximum she would get would be 50% if we had been married for 20 years?

Have you ever heard of a non custodial using the reason that they need to have a custody modification to grant them custodial or majority of parenting time so they can get more food stamps and government benefits? My ex was recently granted social security disability and now he would like to get the majority of time so that he can get more food stamps and other government benefits. He says he could get around $800 extra a month if I cooperate and give him more time. Says that he is in an unsustainable situation and has to find a way to fix it and believes that getting more parenting time and government assistance is the answer. I already offered to pay him child support and provide anything the kids need at his house but he denied it saying that I am not the provider for his house and that what I am offering does not get him all the help that would be available if he just had the badge(custodial parent). I have been trying to find a similar situation on the web but can't. Not sure if this is substantial change that would warrant a custody modification. There are reasons for me to not want to agree to this.

Hi, I have been a victim of domestic violence for the past 6 and a half years he has been abusing me mentally emotionally, and physically i never called the cops keeps on giving excuses to change his behavior he never changed in Vegas he assaulted me physically and verbally in the hotel went jail for 13 hours I didn't press charges. he started emotional blackmail to retract the statement. he constantly abused me with name-calling and spying on me torturing me he locked me out of my own home he pushed me into the kitchen. I am exhausted by his behavior. cops arrested and he is on bail now 1st court hearing is in the next ten days. He postponed it from July to August 10th I would like to press charges. I have all the bruised pictures he caused for the past 6 years. I need justice What can I do in this situation please suggest to me. Thank u

My son is in Michigan. He got a divorce decree and was awarded the house, but is given 6 months to pay her a certain amount. According to the decree it states she was suppose to vacate the home commencing May 1st 2024. She has not left and is giving him a hard time about fixing it up to refinance it. In addition she was supporsed to pay utility bills and has not done so. I dont understand the way this is worded. Should she be out of the home. 10. Status Quo: During the status quo, Plaintiff shall pay the mortgage, foam loan, water bill, his own car payment and insurance and the Defendant is going to pay the cable bill and electric bill, car payment and car insurance. Parties will split the cost of groceries. Commencing May 1, 2024 after the Defendant vacates the home, Plaintiff shall be solely responsible for the mortgages, taxes, insurance, utilities and all other expenses of ownership and shall hold Defendant harmless and indemnify her from any obligation thereon. Upon refinancing of the home, the Defendant shall immediately execute a quit claim deed, and provide it to Plaintiff.

4 yr relationship never married. I deposited my check every week into a shared account. She not once did. 2 kids. Im on the birth certificate. Her house under Her name. How do i request paternity without a lawyer get my tax return money back and slam dhs into the dirt for perpetuating unfair and inequitable orders all while knowing this whole story?

It's not working. The issue is most mother's get kids a majority of the time. The mother plays a nurturing role and the father is the disciplinary which is more important once kids get older. The court obviously has no clue what works because kids who grow up in single mother homes statistically turn out worse in adult hood. Start giving good fathers custody.

Hello- i keep getting hopeful by watching these videos- most people would not believe what went on in our family case. The short of it is that dad filed for divorce after moving in with woman. I was granted primary placement & dad every other weekend- we worked out holidays. Divorce final in 2014. Then Dad moves 8 hours away to traverse city area of michigan- abruptly only 11 months post divorce. He files motion for modification of visitation on his way out of town. A motions hearing was held and judge gave specific orders that in light of dads move, one weekend per month visitation in our city in wisconsin. At least 4 consecutive weeks in summer in michigan. Christmas break each year. It also said that this was to stay in place so long as dad remained in michigan. That was august 7th 2015. I added memorial & labor day long weekends for our son to go via ferry to michigan each year- i allowed extra time whenever possible. I began helping with drive by meeting half way- even though dad was ordered to provide all transportation. Dad used maybe 2 of the monthly weekends allowed each year. The number of days each year went between 45-60. That went on for over 7 years- no change- no court. Then out of nowhere march 2022- dad files for full custody & placement and for support to drop. His claim was that our son asked to live with him. An initial hearing was held april 7th 2022. On the motion papers dad checked the box that we didnt have a placement schedule & couldnt agree. That was false. He only had what he said our son wanted in addition he said a boy needs his dad. He has the burden of proof on those items in that hearing. But court commissioner asked my side & if i object- i mentioned the statutes about substantial change. And the presumption that keeping things the same were in best interest. With that- he appointed a gal????!!! He completely did not follow law- our son was getting 3.34 grades- he had played as co- captain on jv soccer team at school. Started speed skating with competions coming up- had many friends from age 4. He was 3/4 way done with freshman year & 15. Then the gal only called twice to our son. Only talked on phone to dad in michigan. I repeated statutes to him in one conversation- he tooignored me.9 months went on before two consecutive mondays for trial.gal did not give us written report. My son gave up hope in those 9 months and that was what dad used as to why he should move to michigan. More- but we are down a rabbit hole- i need help in this matter please

I am being sued for 50,000 right now because my sons girlfriend decided to get drunk and put her face in my dogs face even after he growled at her to get out of his face. my insurance company does not cover my pit bull or Staffordshire bull terrier although I did not make the claim yet. I fear they will take my home to satisfy this judgement here in PA. we are struggling on already and not sure who to turn too.

It’s been two years and sadly my husband is starting to go deeper into depression (he already has PTSD from war). His ex wife has swayed their children into hating us, and our gut feeling is that we feel she has persuaded them to block our numbers. Things must be really different in Michigan that in the rest of the world. 1. "Amber Alerts" usually have nothing to do with a joint legal custody parent or one of two parents who have never been to court taking a child. When I hear of a parent-involved "Amber Alert" I think to myself "I hope that parent is successful in liberating his/her child." 2. It is the job of police to investigate crimes and apprehend criminals. Police won't get involved in custody disputes because no crime has been committed. Its a "Civil Matter."

Hello again- Now I am more convinced than ever that I was right all along- after 8 years of living out of state- my ex husband came and wanted a total reversal of placement with a move out of our son- his reason was that " our son said he wanted to" and a son needs his father. There was nothing else! He had our son 45-50 days per year for 8 years. The family court commissioner asked me to tell my side?? Not in post judgement modifications- it is movant's burden to prove and then there is the presumption that keeping things the way they are is in best interest- but no- The Fcc orders G.a.l. and 9 months of nothing but this over us. He never even met our son in person nor did he do anything but call on phone to all 3 of us. He gave us no report prior to hearing- i am upset and frustrated beyond words- this is the very same county that netflix " making a murdererer" had court. Something is wrong as the court commissioner seems not to know statutes or will not listen. And he keeps trying to bring court. I have solid evidence yet not enough finances to retain another attorney. I could make payments for however long it takes. I have not seen my son in months!
