1:52 So... the producers of this radio show are really going to state that their character is "the most famous detective in modern fiction" I believe there is a man named Sherlock Holmes who is slightly more well known. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's creation has reached all over the Earth, today is the first day I've heard of this Nero character. Furthermore The whole premise of this show. With the bumbling Watson like assistant is practically a rip off of Doyle's.

These were creepy. The kinescope is blurry. Too bad they were not filmed like the I Love Lucy shows in the early 1950s.

I was born in 1943. My mom used to love this show in the late 40s and early 50s, but she would not let me watch it - too frightening for children (or so she thought). These stories are as delightfully creepy as any of the so-called "splatter" films. I wonder how many ideas Hitchcock got from this series.

The voice of the character "Pop Wright" -- was that Everett Sloane? It sure sounds like him. Sloane had been a member of Welles' Mercury Theatre, so it's not unreasonable that he might have still had a connection to this series, even as late as 1940.

You will notice that Nero's 300 pounds is regarded as beyond being huge. But today 300 is regarded nothing unusual even 400,500 even 600 are not that uncommon. Here is hoping RFK jr can go a long way toward fixing that problem. I still love the series, particularly Timothy Hutton and Maury Chaykin's version.

Here is a lesson. Don't put your life on Instagram. If this guy didn't put his lovely little squirrel on Instagram no one would have known about it. But he couldn't resist the attention and monetary prospects that come from "Instagram Famous". I hate what happened. I can't stand the jerks who did this to the guys animals. But this dude never should have made his great life a thing for public consumption. Social media is a cess pool for shallow venal narcissistic people.
