This is my favorate childhood game

The game conveys the high stakes tension very well with the ominous thumping noise of the guillotine blade, followed of course by the bloody violence and agonized screaming if you lose.

I've never heard of this one, but apparently it was pretty popular. According to Wikipedia there's multiple ports of this game that were released across various platforms and devices over the years. I don't mean to sound like a nag, but is my request to add the original Alien Hominid to the archive still in the works?

I knew bloody violence was in the cards as soon as I saw this game in action. It feels like it's practically a requirement for Flash games like this.

Looks intriguing, I might have to check it out sometime in the future (my wallet's currently feeling a bit empty at the moment on account of recent Steam and GOG summer sale purchases). The battle mechanics remind me of a cross between Mega Man Battle Network and Super Mario RPG.

Interesting looking autorunner with a Mirror's Edge-like setting. I could see the limited number of music tracks starting to grate after a while, though.

Thanks for reminding me about this game! I remember that it made quite the splash when it was first released, but I couldn't play it on account of not having a PS3. I believe it's also available on the PS4 and PC nowadays, so there's not much of an excuse for me not to try it. The presentation is beautiful, and the visuals still hold up today!

Thanks for the shout-out in the description! Just an FYI though, it currently has the incorrect name for the game. Glad you like Pizza Tower! It's one of my all-time favorite 2D platformers, right up there with the likes of Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2, Super Mario World and Sonic Mania. I was initially drawn in by its zany, borderline unhinged art style and absolutely amazing soundtrack (many of the songs were posted online prior to the game's release), but the game mechanics and level design also played key roles in elevating it to top tier status for me. You did quite well for someone just starting out! The controls can feel slippery and imprecise at first, but it's actually quite responsive once you get the hang of it. Plugging in my PS4 controller helped for me, using the D-pad to control Peppino's movement instead of the control stick and mapping his Super Jump to a dedicated button. By the way, I think there was a bit of a miscommunication a while back. In your Gold Miner video I left a comment asking if you could play the original Alien Hominid on your channel, but I think you might have thought that I was going to feature it on mine instead (It will probably appear on my Flashpoint Friday series eventually, either as a random pick or a user request).

Interesting little platformer. It reminds me a bit of Lost Vikings with the swapping between Clyde clones. Some of those sheep were looking pretty "stretchy" in the last level. Do you know if it's a glitch from the original game or some sort of compatibility-related issue with modern operating systems?

I've always been intrigued by the premise of Papers, Please. The idea of conveying the callous inhumanity of authoritarian regimes and the suffocating despair they cause through such mundane gameplay mechanics as shuffling around and inspecting ID documents works amazingly well. There's a terrific short film adaptation of the game by Nikita Ordynskiy here on TH-cam. Highly recommended!

I've never played this. I always assumed that it was merely a chibi-fied version of the regular Sims games. Looks like there's a lot more to it than I thought! Interestingly enough, EA collaborated with Taco Bell to promote the game by offering a promo version as a kids' meal prize in 2010. MySims themed stickers and an activity poster were also offered, but c'mon, who's going to pick those over a full game?

Not the sort of game I'd be interested in (never could get into Yu-Gi-Oh), but it seems like a competent title nonetheless. I like the voice acting for Joey.

Wow, pretty short and relatively easy compared to other Disney games from the era. I guess the upside is that it doesn't overstay its welcome. I could see this being a good introductory title for younger players.

Oof, this one looks rough for a release by a major publisher. I had to mute the volume during the first Patrick stage on account of the constant farting noises getting on my nerves. The Plankton stages seem like the most creative of the bunch with the kaiju city destruction and simplified squad tactics inside the whale.

Dahaha, the simlish voice acting really doesnt fit the artstyle in my opinion. The furniture customization is certainly unique, I wonder is there any other game that uses this.

Ah, it's a Spongebob themed Rampage clone with a leveling system. I used to play the original Rampage in arcades and World Tour on the N64. Odd that Spongebob and Patrick aren't voiced. I guess they didn't allocate much for the voice acting budget.

Never played this, but it looks like a solid iteration on the Papa's Pizzeria formula!

Looks like a pretty decent marble game. It has an ethereal atmosphere with its cloudy setting and ambient soundtrack.

The new special abilities seem to be unbalanced, but aside from that it appears to be a competent if not necessarily ambitious sequel.

I was initially expecting a cart racer, but a destruction derby is a good fit for the show's zany energy. The ability to design your own vehicles is a neat feature.

This is one of those games that I've been meaning to get around to playing for some time. The humor's right up my alley, and the game mechanics look pretty solid!

Ah, an artillery style game. It reminds me of Tank Wars for DOS, a game I used to play on my parents' IBM 486 back in the day. The music's nice, very evocative of '90s games despite being released in 2001.

I heard of this one when it first came out, but I wasn't sure what kind of horror game it was (I'm picky about the genre). Now that I've seen it in action it looks like something I'd enjoy!

I remember playing the free version of this on web browsers back in the day. Do you know where I can obtain the full version shown here? It doesn't appear to be in Flashpoint's archives. Since I've finally caught up on watching your videos I'll take the opportunity to make my first game request, that being the original Alien Hominid game on Newgrounds from 2002.

Had no idea there was a genesis game of this. I grew up with PlayStation 1 so I didn’t know about it.

Man, those deaths were more intense than I was expecting! I always found it a bit odd how you so often eat fruit in these kinds of games, despite snakes being predators. There's a top-down Snake game I used to play on the website FreeArcade back in the day called Snake Pit that has you eating mice that skitter around instead. It's currently still playable via the Flashpoint archive.
