Good job on recovering the mission despite engine failure
Очень красивое видео, спасибо 🔥
i think you did that lol how fast you reacted by applying right rudder and how the engine turned off wasn't one of a failure it was as you turned it off yourself but cool idea for a video
Very good video
Truly a pyrric victory! Good fight!

those 2 guys are total noobs
Blame AI. Level “Ace” selected on both…AI algorithm could be “sharpened” somewhat…

It’s a pleasure and fun to fly the old “lady”. Thanks for your comment…
Good job with the F-5! It's good to see her get some love... :)
Самолеты
I have no idea what you are talking about.
Если у вас всё настолько крутое, тогда чего вы так боитесь русских и китайцев?🫣🤦🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
No, the two did that all by themselves. Hadn’t seen AI behavior like that before. I posted another clip showing 2 collisions between their own aircraft….
Lol did two of them rip off their own wings or did you tap the second a bit?
1st duty skills and patience 👌👓👍
Nice ones. What controller/software did you use? I intend to use the newly established FreeJoy project.
The two Leonardo boards didn’t perform well, so I switched to Leo Bodnar boards. More expensive but fully programmed and the push-in connections make life a lot easier. Works a treat…
@@murdok123 Ah, yes, I've got Bodnar's boards in my notes as well. Maybe for future projects.
BTW, are there any IRL rules prohibiting head on employment of cannons, left vs right pass etc.?
None that I know of. Personally, the only time I don’t use my cannons head on is during the merge. After that, and taking the substandard thrust to weight ratio of the F-5E into consideration, it’s “fair game”. I’m sure you figured out by now that you really have only one good turn with the F-5E and when executed correctly may give you an initial turn rate of about 19 - 20 °/sec. putting you in a good position for a possible shot, left or right. That’s why I favor the one circle with this aircraft. After that it’s just flying “smart” to get the better of your adversary. Great fun, though…
@@murdok123 Yeah, single-shoter the F-5 is :) Speaking of real-life. I've noticed the patches in your avatar. Were you an active serviceman with RCAF by any chance?
@@Tome4kkkk I was… a long time ago.
@@murdok123 I don't know how but I've detected some Bunyap vibes with you. Could you, perhaps, share some more details? Were you involved with CF-5 service in RCAF in any way? Sorry, for being nosy. Feel free to dismiss my request :)
@@Tome4kkkk I received my flight training with the RCAF (as they were called in those days), but flew operational with the RNlAF…Received my wings in July 1973..
2:55 I knew you will *murdok him* within the next 2 seconds :D
It is a Mig-29 !
Apologies. Finger trouble. Thanks for pointing it out...
This is some solid investigation. You should be bringing this up on the forums. Ping me please, if you do.
Not much of a Forum chappy, I'm afraid.
Man, you should make a video compilation of 50 of your lead shots in cockpit view :)
Good idea! Will take awhile.
Holy shit, dude! Chill! :D
great flying it always fits!!!
Chipping away at the enemy, slowly but inevitably, Anderson Silva style :D
I can see you really enjoy the F-5E. Don't you itch to make some frequently used "simpit" panels for it?
No. I'm flying VR. Made myself 2 Button Boxes which (when completed) amply serve all the aircraft I fly.
1:25 Fooking hell! I hope I won't ever meet you on a server :D
So I bet if fly the MIg-15 and fight an AI F-5, it will probably fly circles with you with twice the energy--the exact opposite. DCS AI flight models still completely broken in my book.
Yes, you are quite correct. Fun anyway, as it will give you the opportunity to figure out different tactics in order to get the upper hand.
That’s due to the self-sealing and rather solid built of the tanks. However, depending on the surface (grass, sand, rocks, uneven ground), there are situations I would certainly consider jettisoning the lot prior to a belly slide. Same when ditching….
BTW, have you noticed that the official emergency procedure doesn't require the external tanks to be dropped for belly landing. That's freaking weird.
Given the circumstances, I would prefer jettison rather then risk a ruptured tank during a belly slide.
I know that you said "Did not jettison the external tanks to make it a little more interesting." but I'm just saying that when building simpit panels for the F-5E prioritizing the weapons and jettison panel is a good idea. Not only it is used often, it's going to save lives :) I finally sourced 7-8 identical solid toggle switches for it.
Given the option, I drop them…
This shor is even better! Do you keep the MSL mode selected for gunnery by choice?
I do. More accurate and no need to switch mode in the middle of a dogfight….
@@murdok123 As far as I know MSL doesn't provide gun solution at all. Your answer suggest to me that you simply find A1 and A2 too slow and you do it by "feel". Personally, I'm going to experiment with using the MAN mode for such situations.
@@Tome4kkkk No. When canceling the “Acquire” or “Locked” mode, MSL automatically reverts to A2A (A2) mode.
@@murdok123 Oh... You mean it reverts functionally, but the switch is of regular (non-solenoid type) and it just stays at the MSL position?
@@Tome4kkkk Yep…
3:55 Woah, what a shot! Noice!
