Excellent
Thank you so much for talking about the importance of an Islamic grounding for all learning.
Alhamdulillah. Excellent session. JazakAllahKhair
At the outset, let me admit that Shoaib Siddiqui is an extraordinary individual in the way he has conducted himself throughout this presentation. There is profuse evidence of a sense of purpose, direction, and intellect in the construction and delivery of his thoughts and ideas. But, frankly speaking, how all of this translates into an easy-to-understand implementable format for the faculty of Generations School is a question that begs an answer. However, this remains a matter of opinion, so nobody should feel obliged to respond. Interestingly, the field of education is more of an open playing field. There is the objective of nurturing future citizens that can challenge or inspire different mentors in different ways. The sky could be the limit! Depending upon how one perceives this entire process, in both the individual and societal contexts, the value attributes to be inculcated in ‘responsible future citizens’ can assume innumerable dimensions and definitions. Indeed, Shoaib admits about the phenomena of shifting sands and the ensuing need to balance innovation and inventiveness with standard prescriptions. And that is where, I think, I could begin to see the rationale behind the idea of ‘Wings with Roots.’ Otherwise, it would have carried the parallels of “Baal-e-Jibreel!” However, it is the spirit of educating that matters. And, to that end, this entire philosophy being pursued at Generations School is remarkable. Seldom would one expect educators talk about instituting the concepts of ‘musakkhar’ and ‘rabt’ at school level. And one cannot deny the fact that when children experience the practical counterparts of such abstract notions at such an impressionable age, they get extremely sensitized towards understanding things in their proper contexts in later life. My best wishes to Shoaib Siddiqui and the entire team at Generations School!
Well done Adil .You have made us proud.
A very good point at the end. All the tech companies including Open AI are woke. Therefore Chat GPT generated text has a pretty woke social bent on issues such as homosexuality, transgenderism, women's rights - abortion, sexual liberation, patriarchy and the like - and religious freedom. It is this dimension of Chat GPT and, for that matter, other large language models that we should be wary of. That said, this conversation was very enlightening and informative. May Allah reward brother Adil for his work
Keep it up brother ln Sha Allah
Thanks for the presentation on Mahaz Rabbani.

Jazakallahu Khair for sharing!
In my experience school board members don't have a transformative vision for Islamic studies. I also think that the Islamic studies department teachers will be taken more seriously if they develop the capacity to engage better with learners.
We tend to focus on the outer representations of Islam e.g. dress, beards etc, and the letter of the law while we focus less on the transformational aspects and the spirit of the law of Islam.
In my experience the Islamic studies department in Muslim schools is primarily a source of job creation for teachers rather than a tool for transforming our youth.
I think that the Islamic studies problems in Islamic schools are a symptom of a deeper malaise. This has been a problem in Madressas and Jumma platforms for decades at least.
"don't have tools to engage outside the content"
"approaches used in the classroom are inflexible"
"a perceived sense of stagnation"
"does not provide tools and skills to engage."
Interesting points raised: "irrelevant", "least engagement", "out of context", "boring", "ideological bias."
Very good deal to. prescribe.
