Mike Holcomb is the best bass singer ever bar none...... I heard him when he wasn't even heard of. It was about 50 years ago, give or take a couple.... In a little Baptist church in a little place called Folsom Georgia. Glade Baptist church. Bill Macstotts was the pastor, Fred Coker was the evangelist. Sometimes I just wonder if he remembers being there. I can't remember the name of their little group, but Mike was probably about 15 or 16 . I could not believe someone that age could sing bass like that!! That is why I remembered him so well for so long. Well a few years went by, I was 17, and one Sunday morning I happened across the Gospel singing jubilee and the Inspirations were on.. I had never seen them before. They were singing When I wake up to sleep no more. Then the bass kicks in..... I didn't remember his name, but I remembered his face. I was floored... I couldn't believe it. A man that was singing in churches... In nowhere North Georgia, was on tv. Great bass singer!!!
