3:14 I do like that the framing captures Alex's perfect attention and reactions over Tim's shoulder. Motionless except Line 1. Delayed quirk of the lips Line 2. Smile and gentle huff of amusement Line 3. Deadpan, mirrors Tim's attention to the band Line 4. Grin and chuckle
Just goes to show that the insular world of mainstream comedy revolves around who you know not how funny you are. Tim Key is as funny as cancer and should be working in a call centre not milking cash from TV licence taxpayers
I don't love Tim Key but his acting talent here was impressive - you would think he was genuinely surprised / amused / exasperated by Alex's interruptions.
It is amazing to see all the hard work done early on and as someone that has been making comedy content it gives me something to gauge myself against (with me being well below his standard). The one key thing i have realised is that anyone can be funny. The real challenge is to collect a good number of funny 'bits' and even more important than that is having the ability to be smooth, tight, well timed and experienced. As a total ameature it is eye opening to watch this film, as a novice i've got a few funny "bits" or scenes i am looking to learn the other techniques. th-cam.com/video/L3fQVEtd3AY/w-d-xo.html
I'm hardly catching your either gigs and punchline . Then I knew it was because I live in south east Asia ,Indonesia to be exact. Though there were some of them made me laugh little .But your appearance in both Malaysia and Singapore were better Wish you all the best !
He still does. The band is the Horne Section (also called Alex Horne and the Horne Section) and he 'conducts' and 'plays the voice'. They have a podcast too which I love called The Horne Section Podcast. Most of his telly appearances are him and the band like on Cats does Countdown and Buzzcocks.
Ross Shepherd how am I the mong son? You’re the sarcastic twat that read something clearly intended as a joke and decided to comment. But well done you’ve have you’re little moment of internet attention, bless.
Is this really comedy
He still looks so young… I thought this was last week. (1st November 2024)
Still relevant.
Im only 5 mins in, but what was this originally? Did the BBC just do a documentary on Elis 😂
This feels significant
Not nearly enough jimmy greaves mentioned
Key to start?
Hearing the word ‘egg’ and immediately knowing what’s coming
Cadbury's cream egg. No egg in them. Period.
Eww. Genius.
The entire egg bit is gold but I so wanted to hear what happened after some of the other cubs convinced Kenneth there was a badge for arson
Josh Widdicombe also will not eat an egg.
A egg. It's *a* egg.
This was magnificent. That egg bit was just perfection.

Who do you prefer in the absurdist poetry scene?
Alright Karen? What a strange thing to get upset about, and what a strange choice of scapegoat
That helium balloon gag was so clever
Hehe Tim key makes me go hehe :P ;P
Very clever! Immaculately put together.
2:18 “You’d have had egg in something.” “I wOULDN’T-” The genuine distress in Alex’s voice gets me every time! 😂
There is something so strangely Python-esque about his delivery of that line.
I fucking love Tim key
The woman in the audience wondering if she is supposed to laugh or not, says it all.
What does it say?

Give me strength!!! Jeeez!
That was cringy
That’s the point
The egg bits explains so many taskmaster tasks :D
seen this after they reprised this bit on no more jockeys
Which episode was it? I've watched them all but I don't remember
@comface I'm currently on a rewatch of No More Jockeys and I also got here from that episode - it's Series 3, Episode 1. 🙂
oh I knew it felt familiar
@@comfacethey allude to the egg joke several times. I think they did a version of it on we need answers too
An unpromising start but then transformed into great absurdist humour.
Tim key has no talent
Ricardo Ruiz has no friends
BULLSHIT

Absurdist poetry maybe isn't a style of comedy you gravitate to?

Was this before or after he did taskmaster?

After
@@adampowers6423 Though it started way before
@@Tamashi88 I think the question might’ve been about Tim Key
@@chelseawildflowerloftinwey1945 Well he still does too! He's a Task Consultant and gets a credit.
That first song really hit home.
Love Tim and Alex together
I would watch the heck out of Doctor Hu!
wahl dorne
Was that Sugar Bear himself introducing him
Bet he's had an Easter egg or at the very least... a mini egg.
Not really an egg though.
Ross Shepherd it was an attempt of humour but thanks for pointing out the blindingly obvious nevertheless.
So you've made your own reply look stupid, you mong.

I just loved seeing this debate unfold, two great minds going at it
Can you reupload The Horne Section television program again please.
its on iplayer
@@annother3350 It's on UKTV Play.
@@MisterAppleEsq Oh, yes I think the BBC sell programmes to other people after a certain amount of time. There are Room 101s on Dave too and others
@@annother3350 Yeah that seems to be Dave's whole busines model haha.
@@MisterAppleEsq Ah, we've got to give them some credit for original things like Taskmaster
Thank you for the upload! Hello from Russia
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiits.............. LITTLE ALEX HORNE!!!!!!!!
Genius
I like him, not enough to not want to murder him and wear his skin as a suit so I can watch discworld stuff with Isi.
