@@Digiphex I might have to agree with you there 👀👍🏼
The oem is better…..
yes im aware, ive done this more for the aesthetic and sound than the performance. There is still nothing wrong with this HKS it performs fine.
What yr is your evo?
@@hssndv 2004
Stock air intake actually better, just mode the pipe, but still use stock filter box.
Is it important to disconnect the battery? Need to do mines soon. What do you think of the hertz speakers or do you think can get better speakers as i have always used vibe in my cars.
@@desimedia8805 I would definitely advise disconnecting the battery. And yeah the Hertz speaker are really good, the sound quality is great you’ll be happy with them 👍🏼
@@georgeridley9419 thanx mate and great video 👍
Hey, great video! I was able to make the stock fan work by shaving a bit of the fan shroud off btw. It was making contact with the intercooler piping.
@@blisstuned ahh I see thanks for the comment, I’ve kept my stock fan so I could always revert back if I have issues with the Mishimoto 👍🏼
Not blasting eurobeat ?
I installed the same torque solutions kit on my evo but I still get a little bit of play when it’s in gear, are you experiencing the same thing?
@@luisruizz_ oh really, I no longer have my evo X but honestly from what I remember no, it had next to no play while in gear and a lot stiffer in neutral too. Did you also install the bushings? Or just the short shifter?
@@georgeridley9419 yes, I’ve installed the base bushings, cable bushings, and gate selector bushings.. it’s all from Torque Solutions but I can’t seem to figure out what could be causing so much play
i watch a lot of initial d, i was expecting you to enter drifting all corners, good video
me too man, unfortunatley the car was a rental so no crazy driving this time 😅
This looks like Mt. Haruna(Akina) rather than the Nikko course. NIce roads and nice driving though!!
yes i belive its the Akina pass located in Ikaho i think ive mixed my locations up. Thanks for the comment 👍😅
no matter where you look, the driver always has the temp set to low or similar, and the passenger always quite a bit higher ^^ and oh yeah nice ride
Most places besides the USA lol see em quite often in New Zealand
Initial d fr was a goated anime
Where did you get the kit from?
ross sport in the UK. Here's the link www.rosssport.com/Brands/HKS/EVO-HKS-Range/HKS-Racing-Suction-R-Yellow-Evo-IV-VI-HKS70020-AM101
@@georgeridley9419 cheers, I’ve subbed 👍🏻
@@brownosing thanks dude 👍
Nice roads, nice car
Also, if its the original turbo actuator, bin it and buy a second hand oem evo 8 one (direct fit, revised shielded design). If you have an oem evo 5 one itll be rusted out inside due to its postioning to your bonnet vents and youre boost will be impacted even in stock form. Theyre all stuffed. Radiator out job for simplicity. Soak the lower turbo shields bolts, let it sit, get a little bbq hand held torch, heat each bolt 30 seconds, then carefully rock them left and right bit by bit as a part of unbolting them. You can leave the harder to get to side heatshield bolt on and just bend the shield over to do the actuator. Down the track, front pipe, catback, fuel pump, add a touch of boost and a tune and itll fly
I believe it’s been changed before I bought it as mine looks brand new so hopefully I’m all good there 👍🏼
Genuine maf gasket, part number MD151672 . Looks like someone probably had an aftermarket intake in the past and put it back to stock (based on airbox missing two bolts and elastic bands on the MAF). Buy a gasket, cheap and worth it. Keep up the evo 5 content love it
Wow you’re the man, thanks for the help I’ll get one ordered 👍🏼
Фильтр 0 фильтрования 😂
Did it run fine without a tune? I see there's two options but not sure which is which.
Yeah it runs fine. ill be honest i dont feel much of a differnce in power so i think ill get a tune in the future, just to make the most of the intake.👍
@@georgeridley9419 thanks bro. Not a lot of info or videos on the evo 5 so i appreciate your info
@@kevinsalgado5234 no worries man, i have just uploaded a full in depth video on my channel so if you need some help go check that out!
I love it, would like to see more🙂
i put my signal lights to flash same as yours but mine only work when truck is not on? any help?
Did you find a solution? Mine are doing the same thing.
Awesome job, I just wanna know if there is any way to get it at perfect zero like the OEM cluster... I'm about to install the Spirit of Competition Cluster in my evo 9.. Also any extra tips??
Yes, after a few attempts I figured this out. 1- take the plastic stop out that the needle rests on at 0mph 2- reset the needle, counter clockwise ( so you feel resistance) but go past 0 a few extra inches. 3- then lift the needle clockwise anywhere above 40mph so you can re insert the black plastic piece. 4- then set your needle, counter clockwise back down onto the plastic stop. This will make your reading almost perfect, you can test with the WAZE app. *Repeat step 2 but go further past 0 if you don’t get it right first time, eventually you’ll get it spot on.
Very helpful! Subscribed
Thanks dude 👍🏼
Mine that i bought new back in California was the first available in the US . Same Apex silver as yours . Headlights look good🎉
Nicee man, can’t beat these evo’s 👍🏼
When you had to rewire the horn connector was it literally just taking it out of the connector and moving it to the third from bottom? Or was there something else you had to do? I'm also not good with electrical stuff 😅
yeahh literally just change that one connector to third from the bottom and you will be all set. dont sweat it, wiring can be a pain but hopefully this helps! 👍
Very good work 👍
Nice video man. Does this wheel throws any codes as now cruise control and rest is not in use anymore.
Nope, no codes no error messages on the dashboard you’ll be totally fine
Men, the headlights its good idea, but, in my opinion, you have to pay attention at rust on the body. And of course your intercooler is so bad. Cooling system in this car more matter then headlights.
Nice! makes the car look more modern.
damnn where did you get it?
My bulbs are a brown color and the new blue one didn’t work, any clue why?
hmm, is your car a evo model? and there are different colour bulbs for certain parts of the cluster so make sure your blue bulb is going where a blue bulb is supposed to go!
@@georgeridley9419 yea so turns out the blues did work but I had some brown type bulbs in first so I was confused looks so much better now thanks!!
@@Carlos-ct5jx great, enjoy dude!
What year is your car? Would this work for a 2015 370z? And would my brake lights still work while its switch is on?
my car is 2011. yes it will work on your nismo and yes the brake lights still work fine.
@georgeridley9419 Great tutorial! Where did you get the ralliart speedo gauge face at?
i got mine from ebay heres the item number. 301070040673
How did you get the horn to work
Check my TH-cam channel I’ve got a in depth video
Helpful vid mate. Would it be the same process to remove the tach needle as well?
yes mate, exact same process.
@@georgeridley9419 thanks! So its important to move the needle up off the stop before removing it, and same when you put it on?
yes i would advise it but no biggie if you dont though@@benmason7620
Randomly came across your video, can't wait to own a 70z one day. Excited to see what else you have uploaded!

Oh wow that's a beautiful truck. Did the upgrade cause any hyperflash or other errors for you? I have a '14 but I've heard horror stories.
Is it good for the regular Lancer X? (I have a 2.0 diesel)
im not entirely sure, if you have the same 5 speed gearbox thats in the EVO then i would imagaine this will work.
@@georgeridley9419 well then maybe not.. it has a 6 speed but I try it anyways 😃 Thanks
Did it work for regular lancer?
awesome
Lowriders
What’s the link from where you bought it from ?
here's the website link. Its a European company. www.rosssport.com/
awesome job
Does this shifter and bushungs smoothen out that 1-2/2-3 crunchy shift?
ill be honest with my Evo being such low mileage I've never felt crunching in the shifter like most people complain about, all I can say is after 3 months of driving everything just feels much tighter and direct so if you're thinking about purchasing the kit I would go for it.
Changing your transmission fluid to the Redline Cocktail will fix that crunch issue
Great videos! Keep it up. 👍🏻
Hello can you tell me wich wire color and the location for the o2 sensor signal wire ,my upstream o2 has 5 wires ..thanks in advance
