My name is Mike and I live in Seattle. I've always enjoyed aircraft and aviation and have recently gotten more into videography and photography. Seattle seems to be a difficult airport to shoot, though I will keep trying to find new locations. I do go to LA a lot and may try to film in SoCal as well at some point.

I am going to Seattle on Vacation Next Month! I love your content and would love to planespot there! Can you tell me what the best locations are to planespot at and which runways usually have what kind of traffic? Thanks, i appreciate it! I believe that during the summer, aircraft are using 34L/R for arrivals, so can you tell me the best spot for each of those?
Hey - I have not been in Seattle for quite a while now, 2-3 years. 16 L/R and 34 L/R are best. If they are approaching from the north, the water tower park is best. If they are approaching from the south, there are (were) some body shop parking lots you could pull into. One of those videos is shot from the radar station and you’ll get kicked out of there. I’ll try to answer more questions, but I’m not really updating the channel except once in a while.
@@enjoytheflight Alrright, Thanks for the info! Where are you now after leaving Seattle? Also, one more question, I saw the auto body shop that you mentioned, and it seems like it will be good for Runway 34L. Do you have any good spots for 34 R arrivals? Also, have you spotted at Signature Aviation before? Seems like that would be a good spot. Thanks again for all the help, I really appreciate it!
No good spot that I know of for 34R and I never tried Signature. Maybe they’d let you? Seattle runways can be very tough to film. I’m in LA now but don’t get much time to get out. Happy to answer questions…
@@enjoytheflight Alright, For now, I see most Traffic is Using 34L so I will use the auto body shop for that but most of the international arrivals use 34R so I will see if I can find a spot for that.

Nowadays the seaplanes up in downtown Vancouver BC seem a bit more active than these ones in Seattle. I have fond memories watching the Vancouver seaplanes from the hotel we usually stay at.
I’ve always enjoyed watching them. A plane ride is even better!

As a person who lives here if u don’t live here is a fact for 737 lovers: There is at least 20 in the airport every second in SEA

I was using a Panasonic UX180 at the time. I have since sold it and moved to something smaller, easier to move around.

They have it fairly locked down. It’s by the radar tower on the west side of 34L / 16R. You can always try :)

That spot was over by the radar tower. They will kick you out if they catch you over there. Easiest place is the water tower.

What kind of camera and lens do you use?
This was a Panasonic ux 180 but I wouldn’t recommend it for plane filming. I have now switched to a Sony fx3. DM me in IG for more info.
