Don't give up, just take breaks after each 10, that usually helps. But, yeah admittedly, it is hella tedious for sure, but at least this strategy will make it predictable and doable. I still think Tidus's Celestial Weapon is way more frustrating because it has RNG involved, but with this method, we remove the RNG aspect of Lulu's, so that's a silver lining at least lol 😅. Keep at it, you'll get it!

@@TheGameWanderer I finally got it after an hour of listening to some of my favorite music with the game on mute. Today has been a day.. I tackled all the most frustrating mini games for celestial weapons all in one day. Got all the blue butterflies, scored 0.00 time in chocobo race and dodged lighting for nearly an hour. I feel like this game was developed with the intent to drive the players crazy lol.

LET'S GO, congrats dude! there you go, you just had to get in the zone LOL regarding the game design: All I can say is the time period these games were designed was definitely a different time 😂 Game designers have since then moved on from such, at least most devs including Square, but you can still see a glimpse of crazy and difficult challenges like these in FF games after 10. But GG! 🙌

LOL face tanking Devourer (eastern and western and either difficulties) is definitely a viable but risky speedrun method, however, this video is really for the purposes of not getting hit or at least doing your best to fight the boss without getting hit, specifically for those who are playing on PC and want those "No hit achievements vs ___", while still getting a lot of damage output so that the fight doesn't last that long. 😂 But yeah, Aeterna mode definitely helps, lesser health for bosses if i'm not mistaken, plus the early skills involving damage output have been increased since the game first released. If i remember correctly, this is the only boss that gives you dark material which, in a way is a kind of powerup, since it powers up your purple gems, but yeah I suppose if you mean like double jump or arrows, then yeah, beating True devourer doesn't give you anything like that.

Yeah it's really not the best at applying the evil mechanic, among other issues the game has 😅

Oh you've defeated Phoenix right? If so, the blacksmith is that same old dude you talk to before and after the Phoenix fight. If his daughter is asking you to look for him, you can go towards the lower left from the center room with a throne in the Forge. Let me know if we're talking about the same person. Regardless though, blacksmith is optional. If you're lost, I'm assuming you need to get to the next fragment, which means after giant worm boss, you need to be going deeper in that area and you'll find your way. There's several ways to get deeper in that section, just got to explore a lot. Hope that helps, tried to keep it vague.

It's been a while since I've played the game, but from what I remember, that shouldn't happen. Have you tried reloading the game? Or if you know what portion of the stage it is, maybe you can put a time stamp of the video in your next reply so I can check out what particular portion of the stage you're talking about.

Are you playing on Xbox One or just using an Xbox One controller? In any case, the only possible dodging buttons for you would be A or B. The reason why it's A or B, is because if your console / FFX game's configuration is Japanese, the X and Circle button in Sony controllers would usually be inverted, so it may also be true in your case. The only way I can verify is, when you converse with NPCs, do you press A or B? Whichever button you use to converse and proceed with dialogue, that's the same button for dodge. Hope that helps out!

Are you playing on console? Ahh primarily because you'd rather conserve your blood while you're actually fighting the phoenix. As far as I know, but probably require further testing, you cannot kill the Phoenix during platforming anyway, like it always has a full set of health after each platforming. As for health bar, if you didn't know already, if you look at your damage numbers, this applies to all enemies including bosses, white damage numbers mean that they're full to close to full health. Yellow damage numbers close to half health or somewhere that area, and red means close to death / way below half. I hope that hint helps. As for significant damage, it does do significant damage and that's why I use it when it dives, because it will definitely end the fight quick regardless if you miss.

@justavian I assumed you meant pogo like the spear for the platforming? If not, and you mean regular pogo, then it's viable to avoid the phoenix when necessary, but it's not gonna kill it or anything anyway, so I don't bother, considering it's easier to just bait it than have to time your pogo with its attack.

I wasn't sure if hurting it during the platforming was doing much of anything. The color of the damage numbers is indeed new to me. I'm think i'm almost all of the way through the game, and i never noticed it. I took a break and got distracted by AfterImage. I thought the world of Aeterna Noctis was big, but AfterImage is absurdly huge. Anyway, i will return to AN in the next week, and maybe the color of the damage numbers will make the last few bosses a bit more manageable. I might also consult your other guides...

Yeah as far as I know, hurting it during platforming phase doesn't carry over to the next fighting phase, and even if it did, I'd say it's fairly negligible. The damage numbers are definitely a good way to keep track of what phase you're in when it comes to boss fights, because they usually do something else during yellow or red so it's a helpful indicator for sure. Personally, I like the subtle touch, less clutter on screen for a health bar, and keeps you on your toes in a way. Yeah Aeterna is quite big for sure, I like its size for an indie game, some find it a bit too long in some areas which I understand too, but I don't mind it that much, more content for me lol I'll check out this AfterImage, never heard of it before. And thanks! I've only uploaded until the fight after this one, although you might have faced it already because you can do it before Phoenix, but I always go for Phoenix first before the boss after this. But yeah, I have all the videos ready for all the main game bosses and Pit of the Damned DLC bosses already, just gotta edit it 😅

Which ones in particular are you having difficulty with? 😂 Personally, even with the bare minimum skills that you need, Temples 1 - 6 is okay levels of difficulty, some easier than others. It's only 7 - 10, which are the ones you definitely don't need to beat the game, that really start becoming troublesome in my opinion.

Oh yeah, it was part of my regular playthrough episodes already, so I didn't add it here, plus unlike all the other side missions, that really felt more like it was part of the story considering all the MJ stuff involved.

Don't worry friend, you're good, the funny thing about this game, some bosses sometimes kick your ass and some bosses sometimes go like a breeze, I've seen enough playthrough of people and my own playthroughs as well to determine that it really varies from time to time because of how precise the whole game is LOL I'm assuming you've beaten it? Yes that is completely wrong information. In fact, the world record holder for the speed run of this game goes for the worm first before going Phoenix precisely because you can get the Dark Shield from the worm, and also, you need to beat the worm in order to access one of the best gems in the game which is the Leech gem which I showed in 0:22. You do NOT need the double jump to beat the worm, and as proof you can also refer to my Wormorok guide below wherein I do have the double jump but I do not use it to beat Wormorok, and while of course the double jump makes that fight WAY easier, it is not needed. Yeah, that's what I'm trying to tell you 😅 I've done it countless times, and I actually do prefer to face Wormorok first so that you can have Leech gem against Phoenix, which is crucial because you want to be able to use the Wild Blade and Spear, which use blood, on the Phoenix over and over. Just check the link above this, and you should be able to deal with Wormorok in no time. With the newest patches, it should also be easier now to hit the eye as well with the line of sight for your arrows, you will see in my guide that I don't have that since it used to be a gem ability. lol

@TheGameWanderer thank you. He keeps getting me when he turns into a grinder and moves back and forth. No matter how high I try and jump and dash he always gets me. And once the ground worms start popping up and hes doing rhat grinder thing. Kicks my butt every time.
