They are all great greens. I like this series you are doing!
Mad Hatter looks great on broader nibs!
Stormtrooper Vanishing Point lol amazing 😂
This type of green is my favorite. I have Mad Hatter and Honey Bee Eater Wing. They are ones I grab for all the time. I really like the Tang Me Se Blue but do not have that one. Muted, dusty, muddy colors are my jam 😃
They're all beautiful
I think the first two inks are definitely interchangeable if you only had one!
I stumbled across the limited edition "Reflexions of Paris" and thought about you, I said this is one Erin would like!
The Pelikan m200 and m400 are the same size; the only difference is the gold nib - so if you're not using one of them, you can swap nibs if you'd like to. :D My copper rose is disappointing, my tines are misaligned and i have to fix it. :( love Brunch Date in it though! I have to try an m1000, but i'm scared i'll like it. LOL I have Diamine Writer's Blood, i'd be happy to send you a sample!! welcome to the waterman carene club!! lol!! thanks for the video!
I felt like the m1000 nib was pretty much as bouncy and soft as the elastic fine Leonardo nib - and I know you just got that one - and I am ALWAYS up for an ink swap!
Next time I see you, I will give you what is left of my bottle of Diamine Oxblood.
Oh awesome!!! Thank you!
I tried a Pelikan M1000 at the Chicago pen show and loved it!! Out of my budget but I like it better than any of the other ones. It's just a great size and weight and the nib was fantastic. Love the monthly review and all the info.
I’m going to keep telling myself I don’t need it because I have the Leonardo MZG 2.0 with an elastic fine nib and the bounciness of the m1000 nib is so similar
@@thejoyinpensandpaper890 haha... If you have a similar nib then you definitely don't need it. Plus the style and look of the MZG 2.0 is stunning. My bank account is telling me I don't need it. 😁
Yeah! Always so nice to have one of your videos pop up! 🌸🎉💗
Thank you! I decided to do a little holiday weekend treat and post one each day!
Autumn in Auburn is one of my favorite inks! I will really need to find Nostalgic Honey :P Thank you for the video!
I can’t wait to explore how it writes in my, primarily, fine and extra fine pens!
Beautiful handwriting and lettering.
Thank you so much ☺️!
What a lovely gift. The Walden Woodworkers items are beautiful, I have on the pen rests and love it! Hope you're feeling better. ❤🩹
Thank you! I am starting to forget to take my antibiotics which tells me I am feeling healthier!
That’s beautiful! I recently got a bank pouch from Galen Leathers (inspired from Karynalovestoplan) and I love it. I really like their products. Rumi is actually a scholar/poet from I think the 13th century and that is a quote from him. I use those postcards as blotters in my notebooks. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for alerting me as to who Rumi is! I will follow your lead and use that as a blotter as well!
i love all these colors!
They are so in line with what I’ve been gravitating towards… which makes sense since I picked them 🤣 I love to see all the different color palette choices across different fountain pen enthusiasts
I had to send back the emotional olive. I couldn’t even read it. It was illegible in a fine nib.
Oh interesting - I was wondering if I had residual water on my Kakimori nib. I might try it in my Pelikan m400 since that’s a wetter writer
Such a lovely grouping of colors!
They are! Thank you!
I loved watching this! I’m so glad they arrived well and you liked all your choices. Now that I have Ina-ho I’ve figured out that Emotional Olive is not as close as expected but it’s still beautiful. I actually think Ferris Wheel Press Treasured Manuscript is very close to Ina-ho and I wouldn’t have been able to figure that out without our swap! Thank you. My hubby has been having crazy nose bleeds and we’ve been in and out of the ER and doctors the last couple of days. I’m hoping to film mine tonight to post tomorrow! 😊
Illnesses right now are real! So many people are sick and it’s more than a head cold or allergies!
I’ve only tried 3 inks in mine, but the 1 Birmingham Pen Co. ink I tried works best so far. The 2 FWP inks I used were Sad Charade and Lady Rose and since Lady Rose is a drier ink it didn’t work well with the Roundabout. My BPC ink is the smoothest flowing ink I’ve tried for this pen
I used one Ferris wheel press ink and it wasn’t an enjoyable experience. I want to try a BPC or Iroshizuku before throwing in the towel!
Love all these colors... Cowardly Lion was one of the first browns I got. I have Nostalgic honey inked up this month.
I really like cowardly line! I love how frequently something I swatch is inked up for you! Makes me feel like we are connected!
@@thejoyinpensandpaper890 We do tend to gravitate and pick the same inks. Which is funny because I have mine inked before I watch your videos and you would never know what inks I chose and yours are inked before the video goes up.
loving these colors!!
For some reason I really find the murky colors to be beautiful
❤❤❤
Thank you!
I enjoy these videos. It’s helpful to me to see each ink with the three nib sizes, but I understand if that is too much. Thanks.
Not too much! I just filmed the one for this week and it flowed better. I think having the paper slips on one page is the real game changer so I thank Karyna and Helen for that hack!
I like Life paper, I use a B5 from them for my written correspondence.
The dry time is slightly longer than tomoe river (in my experience thus far) but I really like it for fountain pen ink
The sound of paper / writing was so satisfying 😅 and your cursive is lovely
Oh thank you!!! I also love that sound and just watching ink dry. Now that I’m over halfway through the notebook, I’m also getting page crinkling on the left side of the notebook which is also very satisfying
Such great colors. I really need to pull out my Earl Grey and ink it up.
I am not appreciating it as much as I should! It may need to be my “black” ink for June
@@thejoyinpensandpaper890 Oh that is a good idea. I’ve been tempted to put it in my work pen for the last couple months. Maybe when I change out my work pen I’ll give that a go.
I like this paper quite a lot. Some recommend the Yamamoto Bank Paper over this one but I don’t have that one so I can’t make a comparison. I do love Iroful paper, have you tried it? And for a Hobonichi alternative Sterling Ink does wonderful planners and notebooks.
I haven’t tried Iroful, but I’ve added it to my list! Sterling Ink is a company I was thinking of checking out. I imagine I will be loyal to Hobonichi for my planner but I’m looking for alternatives for a journal. I enjoy the page a day but I am also interested in what it would be like to not be confined to a page (having to fill it up as well as having only one page worth of space)
I was the viewer 😂, I will test this myself on Friday and now the anticipation and excitement went up! I am not trying to get you into buying it all but MD paper and Regalia would be also great options to swatch on, often people want to know what paper/notebooks are out there for journaling and something that withhold the test of time (to archive) much goes into the binding and a company that is big enough so you know your favorite paper/notebook won't get discontinued. Thank you for posting this video, I hope you feel better soon.
I got clairfontaine as well (that video will post next week). I have regalia paper and I don’t love it. I think I did an unboxing with it but likely haven’t shared my full thoughts on it. I’ll pull it out for a Three Inks video (or a few). My big issue with it is the bleed through. I am considering moving my journaling OUT of a hobonichi starting next year so I think that opens up space to purchase some notebooks and share my experience on the binding and such. I’ve been wanting to try a wonderland notebook and a stalogy notebook.
What is the weight of the paper?
84.9 gsm
I haven't used this paper much, but it's fun for the Sailor dual shading inks - some come out completely different colors!
Oh! I’ll have to give the ones I have a swatch! If I remember I’ll compare it to the Three Inks #4
Where is the decimo?!
Glad you're still making videos for us to enjoy. Get well soon. ❤❤❤❤
I was able to film a few on Sunday and get them scheduled for upload this week
What are you getting for Christmas this year??
I hadn’t thought that far… I’d love to get maybe one more Leonardo in a neutral color of some sort or another platinum or an esterbrook estie custom nib (journaler or needlepoint or scribe)
I hope all the extra medication helps!! Sending all the good vibes your way!
I’m hesitantly saying this because it’s been a long month for me, but I think I am finally turning the corner!
The Leonardo MZG Angel Skin is my grail pen. I would probably give up half my collection for it lol... I loved watching you put each pen reverently in a slot and describe how they fit in your collection. Thank you for your insight. It definitely is helping me on my noob fountain pen journey!
Thank you! I appreciate your feedback! While I am still considering letting go of some pens in my collection I’m having a hard time because they were all selected for a reason and/or hold a memory. The MZG Angel Skin is beautiful! I may be pulling that out for June
Hi Erin! Any thoughts on Bank paper? Similar to the old TRP, Cosmo Air Light (CAL) is discontinued and losing relevance. I think Mitsubishi three diamonds is worth noting! Haven't personally used it but a note pad is on the mail since I've been playing with Calligraphy lately ❤. I am thinking on using the paper mind for journaling bc of the binding, but gotta try out the paper first before commiting 😂
I just ordered some bank paper and clairfontaine to spice things up. I’ll have to look into Mitsubishi!
@@thejoyinpensandpaper890 if it is by the brand Life, then it uses the same manufacturer, it has the watermark 'three diamonds'
The third one looks like Robert Oster, Sydney Darling Harbor!
I haven’t tried that ink yet (but I’d love to!)
Sailor has some great colors and ink properties. I like this format. It seems more streamlined and a lot easier on you.
It was so much easier!!! I am going to keep doing it this way
I love this series! The Cosmo Air Light really does a great job of showing up the wonderful properties. These inks are fantastic. I have the Sailor Yurameku Itezora in an Estie Fine Flex nib and last month it was in a Pilot VP <M> and I have been enjoying it this Spring.
I wish I used it more! I really love it (which explains why I purchased a bottle!)
I hope you and your family feel better soon!
Husband and son are feeling better, but I am likely going back to the doctors!
Love these shorts! Any way to show all dry at the end so we know final result for funky color changers like this?
So sorry to hear you all have been sick. Hope you were able to enjoy your Mother's Day brunch. Enjoy your day off, nothing better than a Monday off!
Brunch was so lovely! We got home and Jesse and I both crashed/napped!
I have had pneumonia twice and I am just floored that you decided to go ahead and film this video let alone planned for the week! Thank you for posting this and I hope you take time to rest and recover.
Thank you!!!
I always enjoy your videos. Thank you, as always, for sharing! I work in Special Education and will be completing my SpEd degree very soon (ugh, these Praxis exams), so I feel like I relate to/understand a lot of what you talk about. I can see the Cousin being such a helpful planner for keeping track of everything. I will be so glad to be done with school. Take care, Erin!
Good luck in your coursework and studies!!! The cousin is an excellent tool
I hope you feel better soon!
Thank you! I’m on day 3 of antibiotics and feel so much better!
I have a respiratory illness too and it’s sooo hard to breathe!! Something nasty going around for sure. I hope you feel better soon ❤️🩹
Thank you! I do have pneumonia and my husband found out this morning that he does too. All three of us have it in our left lung which is completely by chance but still interesting
Sorry you are not feeling well, hopefully it passes quickly. Those are nice ones to compare. I really like that honeycomb. I'm planning on using copperhead to mix. Not sure with what yet but it's on my list. There are some other light color inks on my list also.
I want to get a small paint pallette (I might have one already in my craft area) to do some mixes and experiment with that!
Love this concept Erin. I have yet to try the Cosmo but do use the Everyday Tomoa River from galen and the Rhodia Dot and the Grid. Thanks for showing 😊👍
Galen’s notebooks are such high quality! I got mine at a pen show and am hoping to be able to wait until the next pen show to get my next set to save on shipping
Great Pens and Inks. You did a Fantastic home Manicure BTW 😊😊
Thank you!
