Since your design is based on electrolytic capacitors, you should add an input capacitor of value 0.33uF of ceramic type, it will deal with input inductance problem and at the output you need to add a ceramic capacitor of value 0.1uF, this capacitor will adds to the stability of the circuit since ceramic capacitors are faster than electrolytic in response time.

Some model's have adjustment facility but this model don't have any facility like this

78xx series of regulators are a family of fixed voltage regulators. 7805 is the actual name of the 5v fixed voltage regulator, what ever letters that comes before or after the 7805 voltage regulator is the initials of the manufacturers. For example ST7805 is a 7805 5v fixed voltage regulator made by SEMTECH ELECTRONICS hence the initials ST and 7805.
