Great job.
Replace all the tines and it will cut clean
Maybe take smaller bites with the grab and it might cut cleaner
Open er up abit b4 you pull out
Lovely old house in he yard. Would you look into renovating it?
I would love to eventually, but I’d say it would be a money pit, but you never know down the line
@creaghfarm3495 ya would take a fair bit to get it up to standard. €70k available as a grant. Would be a shame to lose it.
Was at A&E yesterday getting a bit of metal out of the eye..happened me 20 years ago aswell and I swore i would never cut metal without the safety glasses on but got complacent again. Good work but wear the specs
Another successful project great work done again rebuilding the topper and the grab making good use off things that plenty of people would have scraped fair play and all the work on the parlour and the shed your making great improvements round the farm best of luck with whatever you tackle next hopefully 2025 will be a good year for us all
Thanks Declan many more projects to come
Great job welding we'll wear
Snowball Engineering himself would be happy with you!
Thanks John, I'd have a good way to go to get to his standard
Great job. Next time when welding heavy plate like those brackets try doing multiple passes of weld instead of the wide weave. Start with one bead then two beads side by side on top of that and then three beads on top of the two. It will turn out much nicer. Just a tip. Nothing wrong with what you did at all and it will hold perfectly fine as it is. Well wear.
Thanks @edclohosey490, always happy to get tips, I'll be sure to try that the next time I am welding.
Nice video when you have the grab full open it up level with the prongs and reverse .
Getting a clean face on the pit could be a number of things. As you mentioned, the grab typically wants to lift up when closing the blade due to the pressure. You could try tilting down a bit when it's cutting. I've heard wear on a loader can exaggerate the grab lifting up on closing. Try sharpening the teeth with a file. You'd be surprised how good of an edge you can get compared to the grinder. It's more work with a file, but might help the teeth get and stay sharper for longer. Just be careful - one slip and you could do yourself damage. As you mentioned, I think replacing the shorter tines will help. If there's too much of a gap it can put pressure on the teeth of the blade. As long as they're not worn and kept tight, it should help cutting to the bottom. Hope you get it sussed. Silage looks a good tight crop in the pit.
Thanks James, I’ll try tilting the teeth downwards. I think the main problem is the play in the loader for leaving the bottom couple of inches
When you cut a full block of silage open the grab again slightly before pulling away from clamp. That should help stop it ripping bits of silage out
Great job there. Well worth it
Thanks pj, It’s a way better job than the tine grab
Good restoration of shear grab. Does the job grand. A final touch up of blades with hand file 🤔 .Silage looks good.
Thanks Sean, I may give it a run of a hand file to see if it makes a difference
Keep up the good work buddy
Ye did a lot of work since you were on last, great job,do a lot of small job makes winter work a lot easier, keep at it,well done,

Well done lad. A serious job and good on you for doing it yourself. Keep up the great work👍
Get satisfaction when you can look at something you done yourself.
Fair play to you there's been alot of projects going on and they're all done to improve your setup and allow you to push on
Thanks Declan, have to keep moving forward or you’ll be left behind
Good job on the cubicles well done , I had drinking bowls like that one you bought and they are a disaster they can’t be stopped leaking ! Tirlan have drinkers with a galvanised pipe around them and a proper ball valve in them and they’re a better job but well done on the construction.
Great job. Thanks for the video.
Looks good! You've come a long ways
The works on the barn look good. Hard work. 👍🏻🐃🐄🚜🐂
