Making a Linear Garage Lock mechanism 100% Burglarproof
This is a linear mechanism with 2 point locking rod, designed to adapt to any type of door such as rise and fall door, one-way door, vertical bi-parting door etc. Ιt can work placed at 90 degrees or 180 without problem, depending on the applications.
I would like to make it entirely out of Stainless Steel 316, but this is a prototype.
Ιt has smaller dimensions than my previous model ( th-cam.com/video/2aFSka3pRO4/w-d-xo.html ) and is very hard to be broken by thieves.

DIY Making Camera Mounting For Ducati Monster
มุมมอง 203ปีที่แล้ว
I chose this way to mount the camera because it gives a clear image without showing any parts of the motorcycle such as the odometer, mirrors, etc. I'm pretty happy with the mounting point because it doesn't vibrate and because of the safety wire I don't need to worry for anything. *THIS VIDEO IS NOT SPONSORED* LIKE / SUBSCRIBE / SHARE it helps me to create more videos. Garage Lock With Secret Key

Burglarproof garage lock with rack and pinion, made from 316 Stainless Steel!!! Ιt is suitable for use in areas near the sea, without the risk of oxidation. It has minimal lubrication requirements and is very hard to be broken by thieves. This is a prototype and I wish I had done better finishes on the surfaces... *THIS VIDEO IS NOT SPONSORED* LIKE / SUBSCRIBE / SHARE it helps me to create more...
Making A Built-In Spare Fuel Canister For Ζippo
มุมมอง 5295 ปีที่แล้ว
I developed this type of container, which is always inside the lighter. I no longer need to carry the original ''Zippo Fuel Canister'' or anything else. It contains a small amount of spare fuel! When the lighter runs out of fuel, I use it and it provides me with more than twenty lights in a twenty-four hour period. Tested at SUMER period!!! *THIS VIDEO IS NOT SPONSORED* LIKE / SUBSCRIBE / SHARE...

    Can the tube be thumped from outside to force the disc from the gearing? If I put a long bar through the tube and force it downward could I destroy the gearing? Thank you for sharing such a beautiful mechanism and in stainless steel - Brilliant!

    • @DrP1289
      @DrP1289 ปีที่แล้ว

      The point of this lock is that it presents great difficulty for picking, even if someone use special tools for all the known types of lock. In the case you describe I think you'll just bend the tube and it won't damage or turn the gear. Incidentally the tube (external diameter 18mm, internal diameter 9mm) is TIG welded to the main body (main body 10mm thickness) of the lock. Also, tube has a small lip to prevent possible axial sinking by hammering (in case of weld failure). Of course, there are many other ways to damage a lock, such as drilling, etc. I'm currently working on this project on how to prevent tube drilling. I hope to upload the related video soon... Loved your question by the way!!! Because of you I started thinking about how to increase the passive security of this lock. The next video is due to you… Thank you.

      Thank you, I’m impressed and flattered. I’m very security conscious and try to think how a thief would break in. My shed has 4 locks on the door and a security light above it. My conservatory’s outside door has a hollowed square tube which screwed into the right hand handle. The inside door (all other external doors are the same) has an anti pick and break proof lock plus a WiFi solenoid lock for daytime use. Eight HD cameras around the outside of the house plus two inside looking out. Plus a warning ding for the front door. My neighbours thought I was OTT but they always ask me if they had seen anything. So you can see why I was very interested in your locks. Colin Crook (just by name)

    You have used Nylock nuts as locknuts on the connecting rods, they are on the wrong way around, also unnecessary as regular nuts will do for locknuts (also known as "Jam-nuts" by Americans).

    • @stevebabiak6997
      @stevebabiak6997 ปีที่แล้ว

      The thing is, he has to first put them onto the threaded rod, which means he has to orient them that way because the nylon ring itself isn’t threaded and those nuts won’t start onto the rod if flipped the other way. Once they are on, he then is actually backing them off to get things to be tight.

    • @DrP1289
      @DrP1289 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it works more smoothly than the other one! In the one with the rack and pinion, I did not pay the necessary attention to the tolerances and finishes on the metal. I did a lousy job. I also didn't use brass on the slide parts, which would have improved smooth operation.

      @@DrP1289 both are extremely well done. Obviously one had a lot more time and effort put into it. I really like the idea, and might wind up doing it for a shed lock on a property we own that isn't close by. I think this is better than an external padlock.
