about the monkey costumes: the album the song is on is called 'Stadtaffe' which roughly translates to 'city monkey' and its an overall theme across the entire album. Peter Fox in general is super talented and has had a lot of impact over here in Germany. Some of his lyrics would be analyzed in school for example (esp. the song 'Schwarz zu Blau'). What I learnt from your reaction, that you thought, f.e. in World War I and II and so on the young men had a choice. So I guess you thought, all of the soldiers in WWII movies were convinced Nazis and self-determined? But These were maybe 20%. The majority was forced: Either we will kill you right now or come with us and you’ll have at least a chance to survive. And most of this German sons frozen to death in a godforsaken field in Russia. The forest in the video was the scene of the "Battle of Halbe" between Germany and the USSR shortly before the end of the Second World War. Many of the fallen soldiers are still lying there. The losses amount to around 10,000 civilians and 50,000 soldiers on both sides. Remains of the deceased are still found and buried there today. Unfortunately, I've to agree with the "mother" - there are some evil rulers in our world who will stop at nothing, even oppressing their own people and using them for war purposes. They unscrupulously attack their neighboring countries with hypocritical arguments in order to own them too, like Putin right now. Do we (the good ones) want to flee from this and if so, where to? Then one day the whole world will be subjugated by evil. Who wants to live in that? Pacifism loses out to evil.
