    0:18 No offense, but Spot is not a personal locator beacon. It's a satellite messenger, and those are different animals. PLBs transmit to a government-operated satellite network, and messages are relayed to government agencies. They transmit at 5.0 watts power and can reach satellites both in low earth orbit, and geosynchronous orbit. Spot uses a privately-run satellite network (Globalstar) and transmits with power of only 0.2 to 0.4 watts, depending on the model. The US Dept. of Agriculture tested Spot extensively and found that while it worked well in clear skies with good weather, it failed to send messages more often than not under tree cover. Devices like Spot can be useful for 2-way communication, but PLBs are the gold standard of reliability when a real distress signal must be sent in life and death emergencies.

    Nice Clip, but i have 2 suggestions: first one - it's better to use an App that shows you the real incoming signal strength (like Cellmapper, a.s.o.), for that you can't use an Iphone's because Apple had blocked every tool / App that shows you the strength in dB (or dBm). The 1-5 bar scale says not as much about the real signal quality. second one: a signalbooster can't be magic, what do i mean with that? Ok, if you have no LTE signal outside (or just gsm / edge), it can't boost something. You need at least a minimum signal at around -100dB (dBm) to get the booster start to work.... hope it was a little helpful - don't see my words as a negative comment to your good work, please...

      WouldNt say too many mate. I’ve been going there at least 5/6 times a year for the last 20+ years n I’ve only seen one, on the rocks above the falls. Obviously they’re there but saying too many is a bit over the top. Interestingly, I’ve seen at least 15 or so at Nolan’s Brooke crossing. I’m way more careful there! Have a good day.👍🍻🎯🇦🇺

    • @Club4X4InsuranceAus
      @Club4X4InsuranceAus ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your question, Matt! The Cel-Fi Go can be switched on and off independently, but whether your car needs to be running or powered on depends on how you choose to wire it in. But no, a phone does not need to be paired as this unit is simply a repeater of mobile signal.

    As an American long haul trucker I have jumped my freightliner Cascadia truck and IT WORKS..... more or less due to slightly crappy marketing. The first two times it failed with 2 packs as truck I was assisting had 10.7 volts in system. It took 2 packs and their jumper cables to make it work. 2 ALMOST turned it over but failed. Specs? 505 hp 15 liter Detroit Diesel With 4 12 volt batteries at 1,000 amps each. So I ordered 2 more to have 4 on hand after that. Logic? Why dump 24 volts at 2,000 amps into a system connected as 48 volts and 4,000 amps? So I hooked them up and charged them....ONE AT A TIME then hook second, charge til ready, hook 3rd and repeat. No room to connect 4th, so I disconnected the 3rd and charged 4th pack and hooked 3rd to trucks jump studs on frame. Left ignition key in ON position and when ready pressed each button 1 second apart. This allowed glow plugs to cycle correctly and when all 4 alarms were going, first turn of the key started the truck that was so dead at 5 volts, the LED interior light would not come on. I have used this 4 pack 4 battery method several times since on a few different semi trucks and 100% of the time, all the Dead trucks start on the first time. Awesome product guys, just brush up on the marketing a bit ok? My company owner also bought 4 to keep at the yard after I demonstrated it on my trucks dead batteries . He had a few of our truck die and successfully used it there too.

      When I tow our 1.5 tonne Track Trailer it's like there is nothing on the hitch. It's obviously not suited to towing a huge van, but then if you're doing true off-roading are you going to take a 3.5t van with you? Its all about what you use your vehicle for. I can't brag about how much it'll tow, but I guarantee you it'll tow a weight within it's capacity better than anything else on the market. And i'll be a happier driver around the campfire at the end of the day than most...

    I just got the CEL-FI GO from Telstra and I did some testing tonight I drove to an area that only has 1 bar of 4g yet the CEL-FI GO was saying it had a lot better coverage. My phone doesnt seem to talk to the device? I then when deeper and whilst CEL-FI GO had full 3g my iphone was stuck on 4g. I am noticing zero difference and wondering if my phone is not setup to talk correctly?
