Eastern cottontail rabbits are also found on the west coast of North America. They were introduced here and is considered an invasive species. I see many cottontail rabbits in my neighbourhood, eating grass by various paths. One of our cats brought a rabbit home but we released it back out. There was no intention of hurting the rabbits, just wanting to bring a friend home.

We have tons of them in Newport and middletown.rhode island

The only destructive muskrats who are pests are the Elon Musk fanboys and shithead shareholders who voted for Musk' evil $56 Billion welfare package. These Ondatra zibethicus rodents are adorable and productive and make the world a better place.

Love seeing these in my yard, sometimes 2 or 3 of them at the same time, though they tend to stay away from each other and are indeed as mentioned territorial.

The possum is so close to the ground that many ticks will attach to it. Then the Possum will eat those ticks.
