Selling my guitar to pay for motorcycle stuff
มุมมอง 37วันที่ผ่านมา
Selling my Squier Classic Vibe 50s Strat in white blonde to pay for some of the new motorcycle gear I’ve acquired. Sometimes when you’re getting into a new hobby and you notice that the expenses for it are racking up, it’s probably time to sell some things. For me that meant selling this guitar that I haven’t really touched in over a year. I think the philosophy of buy something, sell something...

In this video I wanted to take some time to share what's to come in 2025. This year, I'd like to include documenting my motorcycle journey into the channel. I'm new to motorcycles and think it'd be neat to document the journey. I know videos of beginner rider's journeys are interesting, so I thought I'd throw my hat in the ring as well! how did you do that paint job? I've got an Ozark trail G1 that i want to repaint.
I took off all of the parts and had to prop the bike up to sand it just enough to remove the surface top coat. Then I used a can and a half of spray paint and then about a half can of clear coat.
Congrats!
Thank you!!
Looks good
I have a rockhopper and the first upgrade I ever did was a new pair of tires because the stock xc tires don’t cut it for me.
Yeah I get that. I upgraded mine to some Schwalbe tires. Both Hans Damf. What about you?
@ Michelin force am2
What bike are you hoping to buy
I actually just bought a Ninja 500 with ABS. Waiting for it to arrive at the shop!
A lil ASMR of my matte black Shoei RF-1400 helmet. For reference, my head circumference is 55cm and I wear a size small. Shoei RF-1400 helmet: amzn.to/40FHSkr Visor in the Revo Gold Mirror color: amzn.to/3PHtp15
That thing looks great!
thank you so much!
Did you paint it yourself?
Sure did
@ 👍🏼
At the end you mentioned it still feels too big. May i suggest a handlebar with a 7 degree sweep. I am a shorter human as well and finally feel comfy on my old MTB after such a bar and perhaps this will be a good move for your bike as well. Cheers.
Hey there, I may try that out actually. My current handlebars shown in the video have a 5 degree backsweep. You think the extra 2 degrees will make a noticeable difference?
Paint job makes it look like a premium bike 🤙
Yeah I had a couple friends say that, thank you!
Did you do the in person course?
It’s scheduled for next weekend
Just Keep Posting. Planning on doing some upgrades to my mountain bike. And I will do them. Just thinking about colors and stuff. I like your upgrades to your MTB. No upgrades needed to my 2009 Yamaha FZ1. Upgrades done before I got it including: windshield, exhaust, grips, clutch and break levers, and small turn signals up front that do not stick out. Love that bike. No regrets. Enjoyed the video. More.
Thanks, I’m trying. And sheesh, sounds like you’ve got a good setup with the FZ1. No rush on upgrades to your MTB. You’ll know what colors/upgrades you want to do when the time is right ✌🏻

A quick video to say thanks for all of the love on my Ozark Trail Walmart bike video. I did not expect so many of ya'll to comment and interact with me! I hope this little short brings you some joy and excitement for the bike you're currently working on. You got this. Nice upgrades 👍🏻
Thank you!
Good mods.
Thank you Gokkun!
Great Job !
Thank you Albert!
I have the same bike. So far I have changed the bars, pedals, seat, grips, brakes.
@Albert-q6u7z heck yeah! Any plans for more upgrades?
@ yes. I will probably change the fork eventually.
Sick build!
Thank you!!!
Looking great🎉 great job
Thank you so much!
Thanks for watching ya'll. I know I didn't put the visor on perfectly on the first try but I'm happy I eventually got it. If you want to go 10 speed that Advent will shift the 11-48T Advent X cassette. Acolyte, Advent and Advent X all have same pull ratio. I have a Acolyte clutch derailleur working a Advent X with Pro shifter. Cost less than $110 shipped.
Ooh I did not know that, thanks for the tip!
Some will pick up on this secret Micrshift won't tell us cyclists. I did it after seeing a video on it here on TH-cam. The new Ridge M2 has a Acolyte shifting the Advent 9 speed. I have this set up with the 11-48T Advent X cassette and Advent X Trail Pro shifter. Saved me $30 and weighs only 15g more. Many like the resistance of the Acolyte over the slack in the Advents.
All the stuff I mentioned in the video is linked below in case you want to pick them up. Rockshox Recon: amzn.to/3PtkgJA Microshift Advent Derailieur: amzn.to/405YBvS FIFTY-FIFTY Handlebars: amzn.to/3PvGqe0 FIFTY-FIFTY Stem: amzn.to/4h39TaZ FIFTY-FIFTY Pedals: amzn.to/4j8d2IE IXF Crankset: amzn.to/4j8deYo If you are interested in the tools I used to set everything up, let me know and I can link them as well. Cheers.
Great job. I build up a Schwinn Taff Comp in 2023. $124.99 from Walmart for the bike. Everything was swapped but the seat post. Total $800. Ryde Trace 25 wheel set Bolany 32mm air Fork. IxF hollow crank Wake bars CXWXC 45mm stem Meroca 2 piston brakes Microshift Acolyte/Advent X Hybrid drive train Snail 32T oval CST Rock Hawk and Ouster tube tires tube less. Weighs less than 28lbs. Great XC build
Dang nice. How are you liking the Bolany air fork? I’ve heard mixed reviews but was close to picking one up
@@RideWithCasey For the price ($77) it's held up great. It dos not have rebound which I do not need for XC and has held air 120psi all year.
@bigtrucklittlerv7969 niiice, great to hear. Hope it keeps treating you well!
I seen that set on ebay. Made by Wheelmaster I believe. They are equipped with Origin 8 TA sealed bearing hubs, right DT Swiss 14g SS spokes.
Next upgrade should be a dropper seatpost.
I thought about it. Maybe one day when I feel like tinkering with it again!
Most really don't need a dropper.
@@timesup6386 If you don't need a dropper then you don't need a mountain bike.
Highly optional. There is nothing wrong with stopping, taking a sip of your drink, and lowering your seat.
@@Charlie-wt7ct yeah honestly, that's just chillin. Nothing wrong with that.
Ok now put an electric motor on it. It's perfect for this bike
Honestly, that’d be pretty sick
Yeehaw ! Can’t wait to see some more reviews and videos of rides. 🤠
Am I correct in assuming the puget 2x lever comes with all the cables and shit you need? ( apart from the actual post ofc )
Came with everything! I bought directly from PNW Components.
Got the same pair great gloves but i bought them for my sportbike not mountainbiking
Yeah that makes sense. I'm getting into motorcycle riding and got these for my future bike!
Dang I appreciate the talk through, would def be me too when I get mine. 🤠
Excited for you! 🤙🏻
What kind of valves are on the tires
Schrader! Here are the specs for this bike: www.specialized.com/us/en/rockhopper-sport-275/p/199577?color=319812-199577
Any notable improvements?
I’d be lying if I said it felt lighter, that’s the biggest benefit most talk about. It does feel smoother pedaling though.
Is it on upside down😂?
Good catch! Haha. I don't have a bike stand so I had to put the bike upside down on my floor to install it 😄
@@RideWithCaseyi was so confused 😂
@@RideWithCasey love the advent tho, I have one myself
Hi! I’m about to get my bike pretty soon. I was watching mtb vids and found your channel. I live near Fort Lauderdale. I’d love to explore the possibility of riding with you someday as after more than 15 years I’m back in the saddle! Thanks.
Cool video and I will definitely try out this trail.
Definitely recommend checking it out. Let me know how you like it!
You need an airfork buddy!
Actually put a Rockshox Recon on there recently. It’s so nice 😃
Knee pads for sure. Arm coolers can provide a little bit of scrape protection when it's too hot for elbow pads.
Ahh good idea, I think I see people wearing those at the trails
I do.
I'm with ya

amazing review!
What size wheels are those? 27.5 or 29?
27.5!
I want buy this bike he is really beautiful
Keep pedaling! You will get there. Yes, hard tail = stand up a lot on bumpy parts. Learning on a hard tail is great. I have both….and you still stand up on the full suspension. I work on the volunteer team….great trail crew and trail.
Thanks, Jeff! It's been super fun learning and riding. It's also encouraging when everyone on the trails are so nice! Recently upgraded to an air fork and that has made a huge comfortability difference. I appreciate all of your hard work maintaining the trails!
Welcome to the MTB world! It’s definitely an addictive sport to get into! Ride safe!!
Thanks! It's definitely bringing out the tinkerer in me 😃
I went out to QW over the weekend and the heat was ridiculous. Made it just to Ph 3 and cruised the rest lol
