Neat Guitars
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 11 มี.ค. 2021
Neat Guitars is a Chicagoland instrument repair shop with a goal to help musicians play the best they can.
The journey began with an overall love for music, but grew by finding and refining my technical skills for repair and restoration. Starting as a graduate from Galloup School of Guitar Building, paired with years of high volume repair shop experience I am well versed in many repairs.
Keeping the vintage integrity of instruments is very important to me. The repair and restoration processes that I employ reflect this. In doing so the instrument can be played and loved by the owner now, but can also be more easily repaired in the future.
This channel is to showcase my work and show my process for your viewing pleasure.

Gibson Les Paul Neck Re-Reset with NEAT Guitars
Another collaboration video with my friends over at Play and Trade Guitars. For their commentary and Demo be sure to check out their video: th-cam.com/video/UlBE1phlA6U/w-d-xo.html
We have a 1980 Norlin Era Gibson Les Paul that had a poor neck reset. I cleaned up the old neck set, gave it some fresh frets, and fixed the globed-on paint job. This guy is ready to rock again.
A special thanks to John and Zach at Play and Trade Guitars. They sure know how to find the oddball guitars that need that extra help to get them back to rockin'.

Welcome! Neat guitars is my little guitar repair and restoration business. I do my best to help musicians play their best! What a magnificent guitar! A 1960s Deane 12 string electric is sure a cool oddball. In my previous video I tackled the neck issue by taking the fretboard off to get access to the whole truss rod, which was not functional. I ended up replacing the truss rod. In this little v...

Welcome! Neat guitars is my little guitar repair and restoration business. I do my best to help musicians play their best! Wowee a 1960s Deane 12 string electric is sure a cool oddball. This is my first time working on one of these but it seems to remind me of the 60's Silvertone and Harmony guitars. The neck had a bottomed out truss rod and a banana thing going on. In this video I show you how...

What a cool video! Thank you!
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you so much!!!
I have a 67 Hagstrom 1 in red. All original and the vinyl only has one part slightly damaged. Crazy part it that it’s never been used!
I have this guitar in red. Can you tell me anything about it? Did any artists use this? Thanks for the video!
Is that a dremel with a router attachment?
It’s a precision router base for dremel from Stewmac. Dremel makes a plunge router attachment that I’ve used to get the job done, too. But for long term precise work, get the Stewmac version.
First time watching your channel... Love the video! What is the instrumental track playing in the background? It's pretty awesome!
lovely workmanship. your knowledge is readily apparent!
The pickups tend to be vibrant, bright almost got that crackle when the amp's loud. Neck super playable imo.
Can you replace the vinyl back?
Sure. I chose to repair this one to keep the vintage value in it, but I've seen a few of these with the original vinyl tore to shreds. The tricky part would be finding something that would match the original.
Great work. It happens a lot on many guitars, I think lifted frets is one of the most underrated guitar problems. Can i know what kind of clamp did you use?
Yeah! I rigged up a quick grip clamp with a brass radius set from amazon. It does the trick.
What kind of glue did you use?
Roo glue. It's still holding.
Exactly, they can definitely get nice, again, patience and a little dexterity is, in principle, all you need, Good job there, man. 😎🎸
I like that the pickups are attached to the top. I never knew that. 😅
This guitar plays amazing now, feels like its brand new again. Thanks Neat Guitars! Great video too, fun to watch your instrument get worked on. Highly recommend :)
