    As someone wanting to transition from a rapid-prototype environment where CI/CD* tools are used, to a formal DO-178C environment.. would love to see an end to end example of a project that implements all the DO-178C guidelines for a Design Assurance Level A project (or LM says SEAL Level 1 or Boeing XXX, etc). For example, what are the typical outputs/documents required.. what are the typical software tools that are a must-have in the various stages of the software life cycle.. noting the difference between checking style (N-version programming) and finding bugs: Requirement Management - DOORS, Jama Static Source Code Analysis - Parasoft, PolySpace, CodeSonar, horusec , sonar cloud, veracode PREFast Dynamic Analysis / Modified Condition/Decision Coverage (MC/DC) - VectorCAST, RapiTest Configuration Management - Git, SourceSafe QA - Helix ALM V&V - VectorCAST, LDRA Testbed What is the general attitude towards open source software (ex. FreeRTOS) and code-generation tools (ST's Cube MX). How do CPLD and FPGAs fit in to the picture.. since not exactly software, but they are programmable devices written in a HDL. *CI - Continuous Integration / CD - Continuous Delivery/Deployment : Travis CI , Bugzilla, Jira, jenkinsio, GitLab

    How good is it for a team of UE5 developers working from home? Is the solution to setup the Coordinator and Helper Agents on the cloud (AWS or Azure), with the Initiator Agents being the developer's computer at home? Or is does it require too much bandwidth for such setup to work efficiently from home?

    I stopped using GCC. You can't do stuff like build it into a project without having to making it open source. You can build LLVM /clang into a project and not have to make it open source. So LLVM /Clang is much much more friendly for people wanting to make proprietary software like games that want to build in a compiler or JIT.

    Excellent video on a very important topic EVERY programmer needs to be aware of. And this is a very 'simple' example - imagine what very questionable optimisations are going on in a large project...!! This is exactly what I'm concerned about with the differences in machine code/assembly output between different compilers - for the same destination CPU architecture. Multiply this up to a large project and you can instantly see the potential for very significant performance gains/penalties (and code size), depending on your compiler. On the other hand, it is far, far better to have real competition between the C++ compiler developers - drives innovation and improvement. Still(!!!), if performance and/or code size are important for you, you'll need to compare using different compilers - unless you are an assembly expert and thus can code those time-crucial sections in that language natively (or, can check the disassembly and amend if needed). --> Big lesson, NEVER assume you compiler will produce code you cannot improve on...!!!!!!
