🤣🤣🤣
Good times 😂😂
That was great video you guys, my son and I love twisted oaks park we only beginners and went in at the deep end on the slalom is our favourite, and small roll overs, we love the one where you went over the bridge too, nice ride guys and happy new year 🎉😂👏👏
Thanks! Glad you liked it! Twisted oaks is always a great day and a great place for progression.
Quality stuff, always enjoy watching your vids. New intro also 👊
Cheers, dude! Yeah new intro, needed to update with some new clips 😆
Such a moist day 😂
You always make me moist.....
Thank you so much for this tip. I was bleeding my brake for 3 hours from the hand brake. I was just about to give up and then found this video. Fixed the issue right away. Now I can go riding with my son again. 👊🏽
Glad it helped, especially as it got you back out again with your son!
Love it mate 😂
Oops I thought it was just a common sense....
Unfortunately not, makes perfect sense when it's explained to you though. 🙈
Thanks for the video! I am going to try my Furious in the Dynamic (high) Settiing now.
It made a massive difference to me, made the bike more consistent on jumps and a lot more predictable on the trails. Glad it helped you, let me know how you get on after you've changed it!
I tried it on my road brakes but it didn't make a big difference. It's not become Shimano like sharp feeling, maybe a bit less spongy. Brake power is okay.
Did you complete a full bleed first? The SRAM absorb moisture really easily so over a lot of road miles you would have to have a good routine of clearing out the old oil for new.
@midlifecrisisvlog I did bleeding first but not changed the oil. I followed the instructions of Sram's bleeding video then I did your hack.
@GMAN9602 ah, ok. It might be best to do a full oil change to make sure there isn't any moisture in the lines. The moisture plays havoc with brake feel.
Step 1, get different brakes
Got to admit, I have now moved onto new brakes for the enduro rig 😂. I do have these on my hardtail build though, so still relevant! From what I hear, the maintenance on these is much higher than the other brands, which would make sense as to why there are so many issues as people don't want the hassle with them
👍👍👍
Was a fun little run for a small sized set of jumps. Glad you liked it 🙂
I got a better hack! Go in a shop and buy some Shimanos
😂😂😂 I have changed the brakes since I made this, but I have put these on my budget build hardtail so still relevant but needs less hammer than the full sus!
Location
Chicksands bikepark, Shefford, UK. There's some more videos from there on my channel
Does this work for drop bar levers too?
If it has the bleeding edge port on the caliper, you should be able to do this too. I've not seen the drop levers, though, so I'd check to make sure there's a pressure relief port to make sure you don't over pressure the lines and cause any potential damage.
What a day that was, so much fun and great to finally get a ride with you dude! Let’s do it again soon! 👌🏻🔥
For sure, dude! Great day in the dirt!
Oh man awesome day, you boys smashed it. Got to head over there and play on this new line.
Cheers! It's honestly so much fun, just a shame the hill doesn't go on for another mile of the same stuff 😁😂
You do realize that your pressurizing with air instead of oil, right? That’s not the right way to do it. In fact, that’s dangerous. All you’re doing is pressurizing with air not with oil..
The brake lines were bled to remove all air before pressure is applied. If you use the bleeding equipment correctly then you don't add any air to the system.
Its on my list 🤘
It's a great trail! The top section has some real tech to it but the bottom section is so good!
Subscribed,my kind of riding 😊
Thanks! ♥️
SRAM should appreciate you for saving their brakes 😂 this hack literally solve the problem that every time the pressure leaks from the lever bleed port as soon as you finish bleeding and unscrew the syringe from the lever if you just give pressure from the lever as it does on the Sram bleeding tutorial video, I have been doing this after doing a full bleed every time since I found your video, I haven't gave as much as pressure as you do though, I've just open the caliper system a little bit and push the syringe like 3 or 4 times after the little air bubbles came up, I am afraid there will be too much pressure in the system, and it makes my code r/brz/rsc powerful than they have ever been, thanks! ❤
I'm glad it helped! I like my brakes to be on or off, so I like a solid lever but always struggled with mine. I'm happy with just helping people, but if SRAM want to send me a full XO1 AXS drivetrain then so be it..... 😂
Them drops at 15mins !!!!
No video can honestly do them justice!
Thank you SO much for this vid, super quick and easy
Glad it helped!
Crazy Bunch of bar stewards !!! Looked like awesome fun.
It was honestly such a good weekend! Great place to ride!
Truely the best hack to get Codes feeling like decent brakes.
Was a game changer for me!
Drop looked huge
It's been made a little less than it used to be. It's about 5ft I think, just carry your speed and you can cruise through it 😉
@@midlifecrisisvlog Do you need to go crazy fast or just above trail speed?
@stefan1632 I would definitely scope it out before you leap! I still pedalled a couple of times on this run to make sure I could get over the knuckle of the landing! Such a buzz when you do it, though! 😝🤘🏻
@midlifecrisisvlog went off it yesterday which was great. Still working on the speed needed as it seems its never enough!! Seriously fun trail though plus the old train line.
@stefan1632 awesome, dude!!!!! When in doubt, flat out.... Old Train Line is great fun, that first step up is something else. Hit it blind first time 😂😂
Why not just take the extra step and do a proper bleed? If you have one bleed syringe, you probably have 2... makes no sense to half a$$ the job.
Depends on the situation. I did a full bleed on mine but couldn't get the pressure I wanted in the lever by locking off the bottom and then the top as it states by SRAM. After looking into it I found a few people had locked off the system the opposite way to achieve a good pressure feel at the lever. If your brakes feel rubbish because they haven been bled for a while then a full bleed will be best before doing this.
Looks like a really amazin place..great edit too 100%😈🤙🤙..subscribed
Thanks!!! It truly is an incredible place! Well worth a visit! It's a 5hr drive for us so we made the most of it and booked up for 2 days and was not disappointed!
@@midlifecrisisvlog brilliant mate..im in the Canary Islands..it might take me a little longer to get there 🤣🤣 but its on my list 👌
@9livesMtb yeah, just a bit of a journey! 😂😂
Good edit pal. Makes a change to hear some rubber on dirt instead of some crappy techno tune. 👍
Cheers! I've always liked the sound of bikes over music. Adds some realism to it 🤘🏻
Better title " how to blow your expansion bladder"
2nd part.... How to overhaul SRAM brake system
No expansion bladders were harmed in the making of this video.....
Looks like you had a top day Simon mate, There's a group of 8 of us heading there in a few weeks but a couple of us aren't riding DYFI as it's way beyond our capabilities. well done for hitting it man .
Cheers! It was unreal! Such a good place to ride. It's a bit daunting as even the reds are fast and technical but it's also a great way to improve your skills if you want to push on. There were lots of little fire roads and places to stop before you hit everything straight on.
Mid, hat's stunning -😌
Thanks! Was a wild day for sure! Now I just need to get day 2's footage into something that resembles entertainment! 😂
Is this the specific guide T bleeding block? I used the “guide ultimate” one because I couldn’t find information on which to use 😅
Hey, these are the guide T that I have but it would be the same for any SRAM brakes that use the newer 'bleeding edge' port
Nice hack that will probably be effective... but. Whats happening here is, you are compressing air bubbles that are still trapped in the system. Once again, nice hack, but.....
Hello, this should be done to pressurise the system after bleeding. You should always ensure there are no air bubbles in your system before adding pressure 🙂
Was only here yesterday, this is 23 Jump Street?
Yeah, that's it! Those hips!!!!!!
I take magnesium tablets for my quad and calf cramps, also plenty of bananas
Yeah, bananas give me heartburn so have to be careful with them. I'm usually fine but didn't drink much through the day so it's my own fault
Sick dude !!!!!
Cheers dude!
Fair play that jump is so much bigger and scarier in person. Smashed it!
Thanks! Was definitely a little scared but the run in made it seem so easy 😂
Cheers
No problem! Hope it helped!
I’ve been thinking about going there but I wanted to see more of what the less challenging jump lines look like, I’m ok up to double bike length tables so I think I’ll be ok
Hello, yeah you should be ok. There's plenty of other videos of Dirt Farm on my channel, we were there every few weeks a couple of years ago 😂
🎉🎉
Mate............... i'm like 40 mins away. Where was the heads up ?😎😎😎 Sick videos though. I feel your pain, I just bought a Stitched720. It felt like pants on first outing, depressed me. Second outing though, i was flying
I messaged you about this one, dude. 🙂 Takes a while for me to get the vids out online 😂
@@midlifecrisisvlog in that case I wholeheartedly apologise. 😍🥰
Wales next Sunday ?
@leehorspool9744 I cant next weekend. Probably heading to Phoenix on the 16th if you fancy it
@@leehorspool9744 😘
Thanks mate. Been trying to figure this out on my codes and this makes so much sense. Cheers!
Glad it helped!
Awesome watch, looked like a mega day!
Yeah it was good, thanks. Started slow but the little session we had on Tidy Darts really turned the day around 😄
beaut of day boss
Was awesome to get some riding done at a great bikepark and in short sleeves!!!
Am booked for an uplift sesh here this weekend. Should be interesting, cos av favoured tech over flowy jump stuff of late.
There's more of the flow stuff but there's also some tech bits. The refurbished Brown Pow is a great mix of flow and tech! Have fun!
