Globalized sound, danceable grooves and driving melodies. This is Hamburg's #1 Fusion collective.
In St. Pauli, the NuHussel Orchestra was founded in 2015 by Wanja Hasselmann (Drums/Compositions). The band follows a "collective" concept and performs with different features and guest musicians. This is how the new city sound of a world-open generation is created: Urban Score.
After the debut album „First Things Frist“ (Unit Records) was released in 2017 with excellent reviews, the band won the Future Sounds Jazz Prize and played shows at the Elbjazz Festival or the Leverkusener Jazztage, where they were included in the renowned live concert TV series WDR „Rockpalast“. In 2019 came the 2nd album: „The Forest“ featuring Nico Suave and New York jazz singer Alana Alexander.
The new project „KIDS“ will be released on 07.10.2022. The five-track EP featuring Afrob manages the balancing act between jazz tradition and zeitgeist and is the latest production of the fusion collective.
