Nice video, very explicit, I just have to replace the switch on my Cadillac STS 2006, with the same problem Does the amazon Acdelco D6244e model have the options? Front Fog Light and Rear Fog Light Because the same model at RockAuto says: No rear fog light ... But another RockAuto part seems to have the option.... STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS CBS1413 Do you know something... Thanks cadillac.3000fr.com/img/D6244e.jpg cadillac.3000fr.com/youtube
Brilliant video. Thank you for taking the time to thoroughly explain the steps, including the tools needed. This fixed the high-beam blinding issue. For me, while reassembling the switch back into place, I had to put the top screw in first, then finagle the bottom one in. If I tried it the other way, I couldn't snap the switch back into place and I was afraid I'd break it. Also, the ribbon cable that connects to the telescopic column adjuster is shorter in my car than yours. I had to push the steering wheel to the closest in position before I could pull the lower cover out of the way. I definitely unwound the wires in there to make it easier to put back together. Something tells me that if I keep the car longer, this issue is going to happen again, so it should be easier to do this swap again the next time. It seems all the years of this STS model all suffer from the same old things...and never fixed by GM. Disappointing that for GM's top of the line car, it has horrible design flaws and reliability problems.
Thanks so much for posting this. Very clear and helpful instructions. Just a heads up to anyone undertaking this project: the dash near/above the steering wheel is very easy to scratch! It's a rubbery plastic. If I had to do it again, I'd probably cut the long wire off before unclipping it. It was hard to remove the clip without having the switch assembly nicking things up. Seemed to happen with very light contact from the sharp plastic on the switch.
Thanks for the video! in your opinion how long would a mechanic charge for this work? I'm trying to calculate the labor cost that they would charge me? Thank you!
Just try it yourself. Mechanic are charging close to 100 bucks an hour. I fix most of my stuff. Mechanics really don’t like messing with stuff like this. Window motors or locks. I make good side money. All these mechanics on TH-cam are a blessing. Stay away from mr. tire. Always had bad experience with 3 different location. Give it a try.
Tengo el mismo problema 😢
Thank you so much . This video was a great help.
I have a 2007 SRX. I think this method will work for my turn signal arm as well. Thank you for this video!

Should a 2005 be the same? Also could this be why my low beams won't come on. Everything else is working fine but no low beams. Thanks! Great video!!
Excellent! Thank you for the great explanation.
Absolutely fantastic video! This was the problem for my car and you helped me so much! Thank you Sir!

They gonna charge what ever the manuals call for. Most likely 2 hours at least.
