Blue Line Ponies RETIREMENT RANGE mission is to love, safeguard the dignity and comfort of Mounted Patrol Unit's police ponies and to continue to provide the best care throughout their retirement. They worked tirelessly to patrol different areas of the city with their human partners and they deserve nothing but the best.
Why did they name it Blue Line Ponies? Good question! The "thin blue line" is a term that typically refers to the concept of the police as the line which keeps society from descending into violent chaos. The "blue" in "thin blue line" refers to the blue color of the uniforms of many police departments. They chose this name because it represents both police and police ponies, and the ideals of justice and freedom.

Ashling Joan arrived on October 19th, 2023 - Dahlonega, GA
On October 12th, 2023, Brian and Shelley Hill (President and Vice President of Blue Line Ponies) bought a beautiful sorrel and white mare from a kill pen in Arkansas. Ashling is Shelley's personal horse but will also be the offical "welcome wagon" for our police pony retirees.

The second retirement range is 14 acres located in Mount Airy, Georgia at Blue Line Ponies Secretary and Treasurer's, Harriett William's home. It is a mixture of woods and 2 pastures, backs up to 17,000 acres of the wildlife refuge, and has 20 acres of the National Forest across the street. It is a beautiful rolling hills retirement range in North Georgia with tons of love to give. The William'...

Blue Line Ponies WISHES to pay off their "start-up" loan as quick as possible. They borrowed money to build the retirement range. This includes money in the bank to open an account, all the 501c3 fees, storage facility, fencing, gates, stalls, tree removal, etc.

When asked "why do you do it", the answers are all very similar, "because I am selfish. Blue Line Ponies is a retirement range (we now have 3 locations in Georgia and Virginia) dedicated to our country's service horses. This includes Mounted Patrol Unit, police horses, prison horses, search & rescue, and border patrol horses. Hi! She is VERY submissive. Yoshi and Isra are NOT! They are prison/police horses that understood that in the past you must be aggressive to eat and they still are. Ashling respects that and knows she is low beta horse. All of this is very natural in a herd but I still baby her.
