The maple gets sent from Canada to China then boards are shipped worldwide from there, that actually costs less than getting the same maple from Canada to the US and ship worldwide. Some companies actually use American maple or birch, but they are not allowed to state "Canadian" on their boards.

There's a reason all (expect Powell peralta still in house) use manufacturers, some in the U.S. But most are made in China now. Manufacturers provide it to be cost effective to make a good return, now since drifter isn't a huge company he must either love it that much to not really make anything or is actually just ordering the boards from another manufacter (China) to have make an income. Be wary of ppl that do not show specifics on there website.
