Pogy Destruction
มุมมอง 2.5Kหลายเดือนก่อน
We were out in Venice, La. a few weeks ago and this goes on all the time out there. They are r@ping all the pogies they can. They have to catch more because of the demand! This means more fish has to be harvested because they're smaller in size. No time to spawn. I've watched the pogy schools diminish out there tremendously! Now that they have ramped up production in NC as well, our stocks are ...

Nice one BWO!
Go gettem Blair.
It’s was nice meeting you at the pint night! I look forward to seeing more of your new DK!
12”-18” draft. Whats the hole shot draft without tearing up grass. Actual, not what the literature claims.
Sweet rig BWO!
Glad to see light being shed on conservation habits. Its mind boggling to see what laws are heavily regulated and others such as these paid little attention to.
What a beast
And everybody who uses bunker as bait should thank them for keeping them cheap enough to keep using as bait. Im not a net guy, think they can do a lot of harm, but this is kind of ridiculous. Let people fish as they have done for thousands of years and stop blaming them everytime you get skunked.
I love even more hearing Jimmy Buffett in the background. Love that the Mogan Man is a parrot head too.
Killing striped bass by the hundreds of tons in the northeast as well
You should live in North Carolina
Here in NY we have been fighting omega protein. Boats from Virginia would come up north and sit right outside Jamaica bay and do the same. Destroyed our striped bass fishery. But a group called menhaden defenders has been pushing for regulations and it has worked. Our fishery is coming back.
Yet we get 1 per 😂
How many reds were killed? I couldn't tell......i saw 1 red. You should get a job with CNN. TH-camrs have killed more fish than those guys I promise. Let's back up 15 years before people watched TH-cam to know how to fish. There are at least 3 times as many people fishing in the last 5 to 10 years. This is the problem not pogie boats that have been around for hundreds of years. Your the problem. Put the camera down and enjoy the fishing you have today you will be allot happier. So would I. 😊
I absolutely despise netters of every kind.
Like something you would see in Asia. If a angler killed a single red fish and threw it back in, they come down on him hard.
Nature gives and man profits. 'Hell is other people.'😱
They’re also killing thousand of Tarpon along the Mississippi and Alabama gulf coast and like you said it’s unregulated. It’s disgusting how we can only keep 2 redfish a person but this 💩 can happen and the govt don’t give a 💩. Disgusting!
That's about as unfortunate as it gets. We're starting to see a decline in Pogy's in Jacksonville as well.
What a said way to ruin such a great fishery that already has been on the decline due to over harvesting
Unbelievable. What a waste.
Lol my Dad used to say Holy Jeezus when we were grouper fishin in the 80's and a big ol gag would grab his bait and start peelin drag😂
Go ahead captain been watching you since the very first episode of Addictive Fishing! Just awesome!
😢
Glad to see ya again!!😅😊
Jumbo....
1 ton of allowable dead redfish a day that's fishing blasphemy at it's highest level that was hard to watch capt Blair
Ho Lee Cow! He’s alive, well, and catching fish! How the heck have you been these last 30 years or so??
Now THAT'S a MOGAN COBIA!!! :) Biggest one I've ever seen too! Congrats! Dinner for 20!! :)
What a shame!!
Its crazy that as a recreational angler in Louisiana I can't keep a single bull redfish because supposedly their population is in decline but they can kill hundreds of redfish everyday.
It is disgusting. It is terrible how commercial fishing operations destroy populations.
Now you know why they are un decline, ridiculous.
M'urca
Who owns the boats?
THAT IS SOOOOO EFFING LAME. I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY STILL ALLOW NET FISHING. PEOPLE SUCK
I understand commercial fishermen need to make a living but they can be cast netted and done like we used to and there is no by catch Blair we did things way different back in the day here in Florida we make the Chum make the crab bait and nobody catch
You get a weight? Nice fish
Absolutely unbelievable. I've heard Mike Frenette and a few Louisiana guides talk about this. I don't understand how it can be happening... can't some of these fishing organizations like CCA come together and get this stopped or at least regulated? That's going to ruin two fisheries. What is your opinion on the steps that need to be taken to get it stopped?
Blair , How is this Legal , is this in USA , WTH - this must be addressed in Congress & In CCA Outreach my Friend & Fellow Angler ( Let’s Stop This Madness : lts Not Sustainable )
Wow what a Cobia. Thanks for sharing. Are you doing another season on Waypoint?
I saw you collaborated with bull bay and made the Victus Rod, when is that rod supposed to come out for sale?
The actions are done and absolutely blew me away! Working on the cosmetics now. It won’t be long! I’m getting a little anxious myself.😅
From the iPhone, sorry about the quality!
Not bad quality, Blair!! :)
Ah WHAT? Blair has a channel with ONLY 1,500 subs? This guy has had the best fishing footage for 30 years. He plays his own background music. Multiple cameramen with a chase boat. Something has to be incorrect. I tapped the thumbs up 👍 button to feed the algorithm monsters and added one more subscriber to that 1.5K ....
Can we build some raceways locally and double down on the population of these bad boys.
Keep up the good work!
Hey Blair old buddy we're starting to get a little old are we
Awesomeness. 😊
So important! Thanks for sharing y'all.
This restoration project is huge for the fishery. Nice work!
Love it BWO. Way to go!
Did yall pull up some mogans? Im in love with my Banana River and hoping one of the sites is around here. We need all the help we can get out here. Ive lived here for 35 years, my dad used to be a clammer and I would throw hundreds of clams back into the river around here but I dont believe any of them survived. Granted at this point they were all from cedar key area. Love what you are doing for our community
Nice! Can’t wait brotha. Glad I found you again. I was waiting for content to drop on addictive fishing. I had no idea you have a new channel. Glad to see you still doing your thing.
