Prepare water in a tall container. You can use any container, a drinking bottle, a flower vase, or something similar, as long as it can hold the paper straws vertically. 2. Insert a sufficient amount of paper straws. Make sure the non-pointed end is above the water surface. Do not press the paper straws! Let the paper straws absorb water slowly from within. It is very satisfying to see bubbles appear, which indicates that the paper straws are absorbing water. 3. Remove the straws when the hard part has sunk to the bottom. The soaked paper straws are ready to be taken out when all of them have touched the bottom of the container. However, if your container is not tall enough, wait a little longer. The paper straws will continue to absorb water and will eventually moisten the top part even if they are not fully submerged. 4. Store the damp paper straws in a plastic bag. Prepare a plastic bag as long as the paper straws, then wrap the paper straws in the plastic and tie it. Roll a bit of plastic on both sides. Actually, these paper straws can be used immediately, but I prefer to use them 2-3 days after the process because the paper straws have thoroughly absorbed the water, and the open parts are not too wet. This makes it easier when joining the paper straws.

This ensures that your weave structure will no longer shift or deform. 2. **Making the Weave More Durable** Coating with varnish makes your weave more resistant to water and light abrasion. Choose a water-based varnish such as acrylic varnish or similar types. 3. **Enhancing the Appearance of the Weave** Not only functional, but varnish also adds aesthetic value to your weave. Varnished weaving will result in a smoother texture, more vivid colors, and a more captivating shine. ### How to Apply Varnish to Weaving? I prefer to use varnish without mixing it with water and apply it directly to the weave. This method requires less working and drying time compared to mixing with water. However, with this method, you may not be able to reach very small corners or gaps. If you want to coat even the smallest gaps, you can dilute the varnish with water at a 2:1 ratio and then soak your weave until the water passes through the gaps. You can also use a brush for this, just make sure the varnish mixture penetrates the gaps, then let it dry. You can repeat the process until you achieve the desired coating result.
