XLNT video - thanks
Is the 16 bit an issue? I usually see 24 bit for samplers
So this is more opinion based, but for my purposes, 16 is still excellent. I think a recording engineer or national touring group might feel differently.
Very helpful video thanks
I’m glad you found it helpful. Let me know if you have any questions.
FS1 input connected from Simmons HIgh Hat pedal. High Hat closed when High Hat pedal not depressed, High Hat open when High Hat pedal depressed. Any suggestions? Simmons High Hat pedal Model # S300HHC1
I have a Roland HH pedal and it works perfectly. So I tried to “reverse” it to see if there was a setting you can change on the device. So far, I have not been able to find a way to reverse. Years ago I have a keyboard sustain pedal and literally opened it up and reversed the internal wiring. It worked for that but only as a last resort would I chance that.
Can you run backing tracks from this unit?
HI. You can make a sample of backing tracks but it will take a lot of memory. I am not sure of the maximum time just yet. If the music for backing tracks is repetitive, you could make samples that layer and play along. Of course you can also BLUE TOOTH into the sample pad and play along through your speakers.
Depending on what equipment you are using, this will send MIDI data!!
I've had it for about 3 weeks and I'm unable to get kits to load from the flash drive. The flash drive is formatted correctly and the wave files are in the correct format. If I can't get this work, I plan on sending it back. Any idea what's going on.
I had a similar issue. I had to make 3 folders from the root directory. /SAVE. /LOAD. UPDATE/. Then I saved the kits to the SAVE folder and then drag and drop to the LOAD folder on the flash drive. After that, I inserted the flash drive and was able to load. Did you try this?
How do I delete mave one by one, boss?
I just bought it a week ago - haven’t tried it yet
Let me know what you think
How do you get the app on laptop?
Very informative
Does this software work with the FP7?
Hi Ron, answer to your question … the turn page button must be pressed long to open another page with settings so you can select a pedal to turn a page.
Seems okay Better standing in front of the mike..
Hi, is there a possibility to program different midi notes on to the pads and save them into a kit, and then save other midi notes on to the pads and store them into another kit and switch between the kits if and when needed? This would for example be handy if you have different plugins and want to control the different notes of the different plugins. Is that possible?
I will try this!! I’m not sure. I do know you CAN change the midi information but I don’t know that changing the Kit will change the numbers.
@ thank you, please tell me if it worked.
How to remove mave grains?
Sorry. I don’t know what “make grains” are.
HI. Sorry for the delayed responce. I WAS able to change the MIDI note numbers and CC commands for different kits. To the best of my knowledge, this seems like it will be able to change effects and such!!
Hi, now days the App is working with the FP E50?
I just bought one and it is supposed to. Unfortunately my phone and tablet (Samsung) is too old. I have been looking to see what equipment I need to actually download the app. This information isn't readily available.
Looking forward to your review. I received my 708 a couple days ago. The jury is still out whether I will keep it or not. The firmware update was pretty straightforward.
Thank you, Ron. I am considering buying the Roland Rp 750 and this tutorial has made decide to do now.
Ron, I think that icon button you weren’t sure about might connect up to a Bluetooth peddle so you can turn the page with your foot. That’s how I Tuen pages in forScore. Great tutorial!
I have one huge beef with this app. It has to be online to function. Why does the app have to be connected to the Roland server if all you doing is adjusting the settings of the instrument itself or using the metronome? Ughh!
Can the recordings saved in the app be shared to other app users?
Can you record directly to a USB flash drive like the Casio Celviano?.
Thanks for this tutorial. I really like the library feature that lets you play classic songs with accompaniment. How big is this library? Is it free, like part of the app? Or do you need to buy each song? Or is it only available with the Roland Cloud subscription? With the Roland pianos that have bluetooth, is the official Roland app the only app that works with the piano?
🔥
I got some questions I hope to get answers or from somone who is honest about the digital piano 30x and 60x and this app, please have a look and to you or anyone else here on this great channel, if you can help me out it would be worth a lot as I do not feel confident the 60X for 1300 euro witht he table stand is the right choice for me... thanks ### 1. **Sound Comparison: FP-60X vs. FP-30X** - **Are the sounds on the FP-60X and the FP-30X the same as in the app?** - I’m curious if the sounds available directly on the FP-60X and FP-30X are the same as those accessible through the Roland app. Are the sounds on the piano’s physical interface and those in the app identical, or are they different? ### 2. **Fender Rhodes Sounds** - **FP-60X Rhodes Sounds:** - I’m particularly interested in the Rhodes sounds, specifically those from the 1970s. On the FP-60X display, I noticed the "Suitcase 1976" Rhodes sound, but I’m wondering if there are more Rhodes sounds available-either on the FP-60X itself or through the app. Can I find any additional, more authentic Fender Rhodes sounds from the 1970s? - **FP-30X Comparison:** - Is the FP-30X limited in terms of sound variety compared to the FP-60X? Is the main difference just that on the FP-30X, I’d need to use the app to access the same sounds that are available directly on the FP-60X’s physical interface? ### 3. **Customizing Sounds** - **Customization of Rhodes Sounds:** - I love vintage 1970s sounds and enjoy tweaking and customizing them. I found the "Suitcase 1976" on the FP-60X, but I’d like to know if I can further customize it or if there are additional similar sounds that can be modified to my preference. Is the app the key to unlocking more customization options, or am I limited to what’s on the digital piano itself? ### 4. **Sound Variety and Professional Quality** - **Sound Limitations on FP-60X:** - My concern is that the FP-60X seemed limited in terms of professional sounds, especially when I noticed a lot of novelty sounds like drums, rain, laughter, and applause, which I find unnecessary for a digital piano in this price range. I’m looking for more serious, professional sounds, particularly from the 1970s. - **Are there more professional sounds available through the app, or is the FP-60X limited to what’s on the physical display?** ### 5. **Price and Value** - **Is the FP-60X worth the investment?** - The store near me is offering the FP-60X with a table stand for a bit over 1300 euros. Given my concerns about the sound limitations, is this a good deal, or should I consider looking for a different digital piano that better meets my needs? ### 6. **App Functionality vs. Physical Interface** - **Is the app a totally different universe?** - If the app offers a lot more in terms of sound variety and customization, I’d like a clear explanation of how it works in conjunction with the FP-60X or FP-30X. Does it significantly expand the functionality of the physical keyboard, and is it user-friendly enough to justify relying on it for accessing more professional sounds? ### Conclusion: - **Your Advice:** - Based on these concerns, would you advise sticking with the FP-60X, or should I consider a different model or brand that might offer more of the professional 1970s sounds I’m looking for? Your expert opinion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help in clarifying these points!
How important do you think the app is for a complete beginner? I'm trying to choose a piano to buy and I'm looking at the FP-60X and the FP-E50 both of which use the app and the RD88 and the RD08 both of which don't use the app. Thank you.
Hi. The apps main features are making it easier to navigate features but this can be done on the keyboard itself. The app ALSO has some learning tools that can make practice more fun and it can track your progress. If having those two features are important to you, then I would go with the FP-60X. Personally I would prefer to use the app as a beginner. I hope this is helpful.
@@ronvalenziamusicchannel2304 Thank you. You recommend the FP-60X over the FP-E50? despite the E50 being 2 years newer, £300 cheaper, having ZEN-Core and hundreds if not thousands of more tones plus an arranger and two modulation wheels?
Where is the A.bass+Cymbol tone? It’s there when I first open the app, but if I choose another tone, I can’t find it again 🤷♂️
The only way i see it is when I select “split” from the piano section. You can also find it in a scene.
Was money the reason you chose the GP6 from the GP9? If you're a Roland representative it seems Roland would want you to have the best - the GP9 or LX9
Hi, I am NOT an official Roland rep. I am more of an ambassador. The price and size were the top 2 reasons for the GP 6. The GP 9 was newer and dealers had less control with making a good deal so the additional investment would’ve been huge.
Will this app work with a Yamaha piano?
I really don’t think so. These are proprietary to the manufacturer.
how do you export the recorded (i suppose is just a midi file) ?
You can’t.
When I try to Pair with my Roland Go:Keys I get "Error occurred during MIDI connection from your piano [E001] Delete your piano from the "settings" menu of your mobile device and try again."
Did you ever get it to work?
I don’t know about the Roland GO. I wasn’t aware these keyboards used the same app.
How do I find the app please
It will be in your App Store.
I bought my GP-3 because of your video :) If you don't mind, I read fast repeated same notes are only possible in grand pianos with double escapement. Are you able to play these fast same note tremolos on the GP-3? It has the "faster" sensor, right? When I say fast repeated notes, I mean something like the tremolo in the following th-cam.com/video/_lW2AXcugp4/w-d-xo.html
Firstly sorry for the late reply. Have you had any luck? I hope you are loving the GP-3. I am not able to play like the video clip you sent on any keyboard. I have seen others get very close on the GP series pianos. The sensor is an upgrade so I am hopeful you will be able to achieve these goals.
What I hoped for were other piano sounds (such as on Korg and Yamaha apps) 'cause the default Steinway on my F107 isn't great, and that's not in the app :( All what he describes here can be done using the inner functions on the piano. So, thanks for the video 'cause now i know I needin't bother with the Roland app.
I haven't confirmed, but my guess is the orange icon you said you weren't sure about...that looks like sheet music, might have something to do with enabling a swipe/page turn feature on the app. It looks like it's an icon telling you about turning a sheet page.
Even if the app is with clear graphics now with your explanations I've understood better many other functions. Expecially for the library! But I'm not sure to have Hanon scales and exercises....
Hallo Ron, thank you very much for this your review about Roland app Every Day. I think it's a great source to utilise better this app. Very clear, simple language and very pro!!!!👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Mine won’t connect help
It dusunt be worké wuthé FP-30X
thatt mysterie button izz pagé turner
Keep it going !
One of my fav Inxs songs.
I bought a new FP-30X and immediately downloaded the app and paid for a year's subscription. I am hugely disappointed. My biggest complaint is that it is impossible to change the tempo of music in the library. There's no decent documentation so I tried things like changing the metronome to no avail. The flashcards are lame - the advanced tests are not much more difficult than the basic ones. IMHO the app is not ready for prime time. One star.
Can we add additional accompaniment style ?
If you mean internal accompaniment styles, I don’t know if you can at this time but the Roland cloud has so many new features that it might be possible. It’s worth a look.
I have NEVER been able to get my Roland FP30X to stay connected to the app on my phone. App is a waste of time!
That’s interesting. I have never had an issue. Since the X series is relatively new, I wonder if there is a possible firmware update. I don’t have the FP30X. I would also delete and reload the app on your phone again just in case. I have had success doing this with other apps. Worth a try??? Best of luck.
@@ronvalenziamusicchannel2304After deleting the app and reinstalling it, two or three times, with no success, I called the piano store where I bought my keyboard and they explained that when the Roland piano app stopped working, the keyboard would need an update in order for the app to work. I will have to go back to the store in order to get a USB stick with the update.
Works fine with my FP30X.
There is a new software update for your piano which solves the bug
It would have been cool if there was a Favorites option to find my favorites sounds directly
I agree. I know with the GP 6 digital piano, you do have a way to load your preferred sounds directly to the piano.
Violinist here looking for a piano. Just want to say I enjoyed this video
Hi Ron, with this app can I upload a accompaniment track to play another instrument (like a sax) using the piano electronic system?
Hii. I just wanna ask is it normal for notes not to sustain while recording using the app? Im pressing the sustain pedal while recording but the notes doe's not sustain Btw i have the fp30x Tnxxx
That does not sound normal. I have not experienced this but I would do all the defaul resets that I could to try and figure why this is happening. Sorry that this is not much help.
Same problem here. Did u fix it?
This app has major Bluetooth connection issues.
what instrument do you have?
I have not had any issues with Bluetooth but typically BT issues are resolved by firmware updates and such.
@@lilifonteno30 FP-30X
@@lilifonteno30 I have the FP-30X. The way I make it to work again is by cleaning the app cache. So I need to clean the app cache everytime I need to use it.
As an older person looking to learn the piano this is a great piano review - not overly technical, no dwelling on specs, no comparisons to other pianos, etc. After seeing some other reviews this one pushed me to order a GP-3..we'll see if an old dog CAN learn new tricks. Thanks!
My library is empty. No scales no hanon. How can I get those?
