How to put a 2x6 on bottom when the rails are over the posts?

Really ahould fill it half way after draining and flush it again by opening and closing the valve to help sediment kick up and flow out better. Depending how dirty you may need to fill and drain a few times

You did half the job. The other gray piece comes off below the beige circular by taking off that screw to reveal a metal filter. Mine was gross. Hope you saw that and did take it off.
