Ah! Home ! I grew up in Court Drive Shillingford from December 1959 .. we moved in the day of The Suez Crisis How often have I sat on the bank where you are .. just watching or swimming & canoeing from Shillingford Wharf. I always expected to retire here but sadly I had to sell our home in 2016 to place mum into full-time care and I must remain in Australia Caring for my husband So .. I may never be able to return to the Thames I love which means that I will treasure watching this for the rest of my life .. Thank You ❤

Fascinating - some things like the buildings have hardly changed, but others (shop names, car designs, clothes fashions, hairstyles) are completely different.

Very Buzzing and busy town.1974 we moved from North Berkshire so Oxfordshire and that was the decline for this once Buzy Town. It will all come back one day. I’m glad I see the 60/79:80/90 best time for Abingdon. On a Saturday you could not move for people .
