I am sure this hymn was comforting during the blitz. It is still sung on Remembrance Day. There is also a hymn with different words that is used with this tune.

Needs to the be the anthem of every Christian to their country.
Composed for the wedding of Princess Margaret to Anthony Armstrong Jones in 1960. My, then to be wife, came down the aisle to this when we were married in 1968.
