Ouooouu yes,a friend of Wayne or some integrant of the Band say that: THE CLOUDS TASTE METALLIC....AIRPLANE WITH THE CARLINDA OPEN and see...yes see THE TASTE CLOUDS METALLIC....😂😂😂😂 KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK ACID DRUGS CLOUDS...HAHAHAHA 😂😂😂😂😂
does anyone know how Ronald jones is playing this part at 8:48? I'm a huge flaming lips fan and a huge flaming lips gear researcher and im curious about Ronald jones and his techniques such as this one lol
They put on an amazing show!
Cool to hear ronald jones speak, even if he's just tryna find his Amp to make some weird noises with.
This was BBX#3, the first one where the public was invited. December 12, 1997 Hollywood Theater in Norman , OK. I was 'Volunteer #21' right next to Michael on Steven's side. The photo on the tour shirts was from this show. Shit was mind-blowing.
Great alt band.
Truly the greatest album of the 90's as it encapsulates all the vibrant quirkiness of the time in between the collapses of the Soviet Union and the World Trade Center.
My boys at their absolute best!
Underrated band underrated album
Ronald was such a good guitar player that he quit 24 years ago and they still haven’t replaced him
clouds taste metallic is the most under appreciated album from 1990's....the guitar sound and songs are so original and epic....set the brilliant course for future lips lps.
What year?
@@ericsilberstein667 Released in ‘95, after “Farewell Transmission From the Satellite Heart” (‘93), which is truly their first great album, and “Zaireeka” (‘97), which is an ambitious 4-CD release that is supposed to be played on four different sound systems simultaneously.
@@dannyv8483 so this documentary in 95?
@@ericsilberstein667 not sure about the doc
Amazing Musicians!
what a bunch of freaks. great talented musicians. particulary surprised by roland. words never enough for dave or for steven
instrument at 6:00???
It's a Hurdy-gurdy
Feudo Feudal thanks, bro
Alas this is not the fabled upcoming documentary, but rather an excerpt from the 2005 documentary 'Fearless Freaks', which is very good.
Some of the footage is shared with Fearless Freaks, but this appears to be the mini-documentary specifically about Clouds Taste Metallic that was streamable on the Flaming Lips website in the late '90s
@@DrFishopolisPHD I have this documentary Fearless Freak...😂😁🎸🎸🛸🛸
"What's the best thing Wayne's got going for him? STEVEN!" - Gibby Haynes
+JackFromBeatStrings i love the band, but gibby is probably right.
Torrey Dunn Same.
Yup
@@thedmtfp What do you mean but? Wayne and Michael have said that once Steven joined everything changed for the better. Wayne explained it as once they showed up at Stevens house and he joined they started playing together and Wayne said that it was nice to have someone that could actually play instruments well 😂. It’s not a but, kinda thing it’s just a fact that Steven is the best musician of the trio and everyone in the band agrees so we all good 😊.
huge steven fan, but the best thing that ever happened to him was wayne coyne. and not just musically.
Awesome performance!
Well this was strange.
This helps me get a "true" look into the life of Ronald Jones
Yooirite, sir or ma'am or hemaphrodite or asexual celestial being
oh so this is a "documentary" not a documentary
Michael's face, with his hair and without his glasses, reminds me a bit of Krist Novoselic. Or, more like: Krist Novoselic reminds me of Michael with his hare and without his glasses amirite?
6:06 wayne: do it again. steven check this out. it's kinda weird
Man, Even back then Steven was handling almost all of the arranging. Damn he's good. Love watching them sort out backing vocals
8:50
So so talented
"If he [Ronald] get's one more pedal, he'll die"
wow im really not getting what the guy on the spinner says around 5:23 does someone know
Ronald Jones, their lead guitarist at the time, always had a BUNCH of weird crazy effects for his unique sound. So, the guy, a friend of the band, says that if Ron gets one more pedal/rackmount effect, (sarcastically) he'll die.
That whole thing just really seemed too bizarre
Wayne is a visionary and idea man par excellence.
I once talked to Wayne Coyne on WFMU and he sent me a cool promo cd with his name spelled out.The best people dont do autographs.
I had a similar experience sneaking backstage at Vegoose in 2005. He talked to me for 30 minutes, got my address and mailed me a personally made mix cd! He's the most unassuming, egoless frontman in history. And man does he love to talk about anything and everything.
@@allergeistHe send me some years ago... years 2000, he send me a postcards with Chistmax time theme...😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤ love it...❤
The band's live show is great. The music is only ok. Wayne, though, is a loser. Just found out how much of one by Googling "Wayne Coyne misogynist" to see what would bubble up. Turns out he treats female artists badly and writes pouty little "ur a HATA!" responses when said artists complain. That "hata" thing? That is what rapers say. It is a trademark of theirs, just like those douchey straight-bill caps. Wayne, turns out, is a loser. Bummer.
Correlation ImpliesCausation just googled that in 2019 nothing popped up, just appreciate the music
That's weird. At 2:30, Steven randomly says "car crash," and then the film cuts to Michael.
The spiderbite song?

this is indie documentary film-making at its best. so sweet, every shot, every sound
@KingSandwell They did, it's a cover of Nobody Told Me by John Lennon
These people know what it's all about.
it would be ok if justin timberlake was actually playing the bass...
This is truly fantastic..Great band great song!!
