How do you like the pioneer trail a year later?

Looks like so much fun. I'm hoping to get a side x side hopefully next spring, and taking some trips like this is exactly what I want to do. I want to go up to Silver Lake in Michigan And run the trails in both the upper and lower MI. Thanks for sharing your vacation with us!

Hey Brandon. I was up there this weekend also. I was talking to one of the club members there and he was telling me the history about that big Avery Traction Engine. Seems the original owner out in I believe Idaho had just started using the very first week that he had it. Pulling 12 bottoms, they got stuck in a soft sand bog, and ended up burying it up to the fire box. They had tried multiple times using large teams of horses to pull it out, but were never able to get it out. They finally gave up and abandoned it and it sat there until just a couple years ago when a group of the guys went out there and disassembled it and trucked the pieces back here. They spent the last few years rebuilding it and restoring it back to operation. Love the history of all this old machinery.

I used to love this place when we lived in Michigan City. I knew some of the people who were involved with running the place at the time. I visited there for their bug Labor Day weekend a couple of years ago. I was really disappointed at how commercialized it seems to be now. Some of their smaller steam trains seem to be gone. It's still an interesting place, but not like it used to be.

Does this mean you are going to bring it back? 😉

Thanks for sharing a friend of mine had one of those utv and he turned it over and his arm got between the roll bar and ground messed him up good so be careful buddy and if you ever have a accident try to keep all limb’s inside the cab

That's great Brandon! It's a little ironic, I've been shopping for a Pioneer 1000, except in the 2 seater model. I want to go trail running around Indiana and really wanting to get up into Michigan on their trails! One big load of fun!

That’s really cool. We had a Big Red a few years back & it was really nice. We still have an ‘83 Big Red purchased new back in the day. You’ll make some great memories in that new ride. Can’t wait to see it. 🤙🏽
