I'm an Airline Pilot - spent some time training at EGHH, lovely ATC. EGHH used to have the longest runway in the UK before EGLL was built.

Superb! I saw my first Viggen at Farnborough in 1974. Amazing sight. Also amused to learn then that this SAAB was powered by a Volvo engine. 🤭

Viggen is such a beast, beautiful machine. Used to love it when they came to Waddington on exercise when I was growing up. Viggens and car alarms went hand in hand 🤣

Grew up 1 km from a military airfield in Sweden. Often saw dragons (Draken) racing past my house. Looked like a speeding arrow head. Beautiful! I loved it. The noice didn't bother me much. Last week two Gripens chased each other just 50 m directly over my roof. I could see everything underneath. Magnificent!

Nice! As a Swede.. Draken has an engine attached to it's wings... Viggen has some wings attached to an engine...

As I live in Bournemouth as well I saw them at the airport I was on the other side off the runway so they flew over me it was so cool and loud

Well what can i say there should of been 2 at raf fairford unfortunately 4 turned up so many weeks later , he could of dropped down lower with another flypast 👍🏻🤷‍♂️

Apart from air displays. One who lives in a country that uses these beasts... hopes we never hear these frequently in air maritime patrols over UK airspace. That will suggests somethings very wrong!
