NSF’s NOIRLab is the preeminent US national center for ground-based, nighttime optical and infrared astronomy. The mission of NOIRLab is to enable breakthrough discoveries in astrophysics by developing and operating state-of-the-art ground-based observatories and providing data products and services for a diverse and inclusive community.
Through its five programs - Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory (CTIO), the Community Science and Data Center (CSDC), Gemini Observatory, Kitt Peak National Observatory (KPNO) and the Vera C. Rubin Observatory once operational - NOIRLab serves as a focal point for community development of innovative scientific programs, the exchange of ideas, and creative development.
The Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy, Inc. (AURA) operates these facilities and NSF’s NOIRLab under a cooperative agreement with the National Science Foundation (NSF).

👍
Great narration and very well taken throughout the video
I will die before it gets commissioned.
How does the heat of the laser tube influence the picture quality? Doesn't it introduce additional scintillation?
🦋🤩
Warp Drive Theory, The back of the gravity well, of black a hole, should create a wave, similar to a warp drive, like the Alcubierre drive theory, without exotic matter. By building a space craft around a black hole big enough to surround the ship… weight displacement… should move the black holes gravity well… the back of the wave should move the space ship without thrust. The warping of space will move the ship.
silly little guy
huh?
@milesotto9195 this guy is a silly little guy
el primer like después de un año. Que pena sigan así mostrando el bello espacio 😪😪😪
VR headsets for phones are pretty cheap online. I would love to see all the old Planetarium shows on TH-cam VR. Especially the longer ones. There are a million VR rollercoaster videos on TH-cam and only about a handful of astronomy VR videos. One day.
Congrats!
Nice video. 80.000 years ago it was cold and the sea was 80 meters above our level. We were travelling to the east, from ethiopia to Jemen. And become the famous Homo Sapiens of today. The Neanderthalers disapeared 30.000 years ago. Where will we be in 80,000 years? hopefully free, righteous and unequivocally living in prosperity and peace.
Only 240 MLY away. Lol. This was really cool. More the better
Gorgeous! Thanks!
Beautiful!
This video wins the internet.
😮
Даа, какое богатство
Thats a Big Telescope😂😮
Nice!
Hope I can see it at least once before it's gone!
I was looking for a planetarium show.
This video is ridiculously fast. I had to keep pausing or rewinding to read the captions. Reading them _and_ looking at the visuals is nearly impossible. I think whoever edited the video drinks too much Red Bull.

Congrats on the discovery!

Neat guys!
Milky way
This video is full of ridiculous proPAGANda. The entire "universe" model is absolutely destroyed by known laws of physics. "Space" is a scientifically-impossible place. Any "satellites" above us are suspended from BALLOON systems. NOTHING is "in orbit" around the mythical "planet". Our world is empirically and demonstrably level, stationary and enclosed. There are ZERO experiments that have EVER proven our realm's supposed curvature over water OR any assumptions of its motion (axial rotation, orbit around the sun, chasing the sun through the Milky Way "galaxy", or assumptions of its motion through the fairy tale "universe").
Surprised whites and blacks haven’t showed up claiming to be natives, yet 😂
This is not a video, it's a computer-generated simulation. The Heliocentric model, and with it, the "universe", is based ONLY in philosophical supposition and speculation, not empirical evidence and experimentation. Nice try.
💀
There's Earth 🌎 3 somewhere in that galaxy
it looks like a supernova blows
In reality, past the 7 second mark DOESN'T happen. There is a ton of empty blackness between stars at that focal length and smaller stars don't keep appearing and growing larger. This video has been manipulated. It's a crafty trick to make you think the scientifically-impossible "universe" continues on and on, but that's not the case! The Firmament is a solid barrier over our realm. It's a set distance above sea level. The objects IN it are fixed in place relative to one another, and that's why ZERO stellar parallax has EVER been observed OR recorded. There is no "universe", no infinite "space". The "universe" model is based in philosophy, not testable, repeatable, measurable science. The sun and moon are INSIDE here with us and are very small and very close. According to the Inverse Square Law of Light, the term "light year" is AN IMPOSSIBLE MEASUREMENT. Light, ALL light, fades fairly rapidly over relatively short distances and becomes impossible to see. The whole "space" narrative is a lie.
Beautiful!
Looks like a skin rash in the thumbnail.
Short but ever so sweet, love these, thanks!
a beautiful moment recorded to history, what a momentous reveal. Well done and good luck with the delivery and installation!
So rad!❤

Wow. The transition in appearance in that sweep at 0:45 seconds.
Amazing!
Such a cool dome much less the scope! This video must have been from several years ago with Jupiter photobombing Antares.
congrats guys .......
