Small, kinda weird, possibly imaginary. Just like a jackalope!
I read a lot of fantasy and mystery, but I enjoy a pretty broad variety of genres, including classics, historical fiction, a bit of horror, thrillers, and sci-fi. I'm trying to tackle the massive goal of reading my entire physical tbr.

Currently reading The Goblin Emperor, and my next books will be the new releases from James SA Corey and P Djeli Clark.
Ooh, I hope you enjoy TGE! The new releases from Corey and Clark both sound awesome, great next picks!
Wow . Thanks for the recommendations 😊 . Subscribed ❤
Thanks for watching! 😄
🤣 I was not expecting that for the last book 🤣
I'm glad you found it funny! I was laughing when I added it to the stack, so I'm delighted that it was funny to more than just me 😂
@@JackalopeHope I think it's because it just caught me by surprise, I nearly spat out my coffee 🤣
@@TepidShambles 🤣
I have Dark Archives in my TBR, I hope it's as good as it sounds.
Fingers crossed!
congratulations on your new job 🎉
Thanks! 😄
This is a good idea, I have so much weird and random stuff on my Kindle as well, it's over due a clear out.
There were so many books on mine that I'd completely forgotten existed 😂 The clear out definitely helped at least in bringing those back into my awareness
Cool TBR. Keep it up.
Thanks!
I'll be interested to hear what you think of Murder in the Family. I read it a few months ago. I hope you enjoy your reads!
I've been meaning to pick it up for ages, and I'm excited to give it a try. I've read several other mixed media mysteries lately that were good, so I'm really keeping my fingers crossed for this one
From Bacigalupi, you should try The Windup Girl, sci-fi, eco catastrophe, artificial people, and more
Oh, that sounds cool, thanks for the rec!
I hope you like A Strange and SE, low magic, very political fantasy. Please read the content warnings or skip the rest of chapter two when you feel the creeps It's a nice depiction of resilience and second chances in life
I've definitely heard the first few chapters have some really difficult content, so I will be careful when I start the book! I don't really know what to expect going in, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed I like it. It seems like a lot of people really enjoyed ASaSE
Just wanted to say I love the curtains 😀I recently watched you at my work laptop where I am not allowed to comment, so saying it at least now, a bit late 🤣
Thanks! I'm glad I finally got the curtain rod set up. I kept putting it off because I had to use a drill 😂
I just wanted to say that your handwriting is so pretty 🥰
Oh thank you! 😊
I feel what you mean with the slumpiness. I am on my 2nd book of the month (May). I liked what you did with the d6 & d20. It seems like a fun way to choose your TBR.
Fingers crossed we both have a better time in June! 🤞Glad you enjoyed the dice rolling! I find it to be really fun and it definitely helps with indecisiveness
Sending you positive thoughts on your job hunt!
Thanks, I really appreciate it! 😁
For me, ankle bug bites are usually from chiggers! They are little bugs that live in grass (usually taller grass, but they can sometimes be found in residential lawns). You can spray a little bug repellent on your ankles to deter them if you know you're going to be walking on grass.
Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely remember that about the bug spray. I don't think it's chiggers because I haven't been out in the grass at all (I'm like the least outdoorsy person I know 😅) and they're not red like chiggers typically are, but I think it's something related based on the type of bites. I have, luckily, located the source and started the process of dealing with them, so things are looking up!
I’m going to be reading Grace of Kings as the first book in a series prompt and I’m really pumped about it (also slightly intimidated because of the length).
Oh, good pick! I've heard great things about Grace of Kings, and I read the first few chapters a while back and thought it was really interesting. Fingers crossed you enjoy it! 🤞
Yeah. Love T. Kingfisher!
🥳Her books are so fun!
Nice list! I’ve read half these authors and really enjoyed them.
I think my auto-buy authors are Naomi Novik, Rebecca Roanhorse, P Djeli Clark, Ann Leckie, and SA Corey. I'm nervous about reading Stephen Graham Jones. I like supernatural and folk horror, but I've seen his books more compared to slashers.
Ooh, good list! I haven't read Ann Leckie or SA Corey yet, but I've heard good things, and I love the others you mentioned. I think a lot of Stephen Graham Jones' books are slashers, but I think if you wanted to give his work a shot you'd probably be fine starting with Mongrels (definitely not a slasher, more a coming-of-age story with some gore) or Mapping the Interior (I haven't read this one yet, but my understanding is it's a ghost story). He also has an Audible original, The Babysitter Lives that's much more supernatural
Now I want to read Untethered Sky. It sounds like a story I'd like 😊
I highly recommend it! I devoured it in a single afternoon
Adding red scholars wake to my tbr right now.
Wow three readathon! Ambitious! So glad you are participating in Galactic-thon! ❤❤❤
I'm nothing if not overly ambitious 😂Excited to be participating!
My favorite in April was Blood Over Bright Haven by M L Wang
Nice! I've heard a lot of good things about Blood Over Bright Haven
Wooo! Congratulations on your graduation.
Thanks! 😄 I have one more final project to finish and then I'm freeeee
I'm thinking I'll read Translation State by Anne Leckie. Congrats on your master's degree!
Thanks! 😄 Ooh, Translation State sounds cool!
I’ll be Gone in the Dark is so good, but pretty heavy so be aware ahead of time!
That's good to know, thanks for the heads up! I'll probably try to read it alongside something lighter
I’m glad I came across this video. I’m 1/3 of the way through and wanted spoilers to see if it was worth finishing. Now I can easily DNF and move on. Thanks
I'm glad I was able to save you some time 😂 Now you can move on to better books!
Just followed you on pango!
Thanks! ☺️
Edinburgh is a great city - definitely worth a visit!
It seems like such a cool place with so much interesting history!
Loved this video! Thank you! I would suggest perhaps a little pullback on spoilers, but that's me.
Glad you enjoyed the video! I didn't think I'd given any spoilers, but I will try to be more careful in future 😊
Great picks! I also an eagerly awaiting Dead Cat tail Assassins
Thanks! Dead Cat Tail Assassins just sounds so cool 🤩
Oh i gotta go find The Woods all Black. U a busy person. Wish you luck. U got this
Thanks! I hope you enjoy The Woods All Black if you pick it up 😁
the thumbnail says weed vlog
I didn't even notice that while I was making it 🤦♀️😂 thanks for pointing that out, I'll fix it
Great list! The only book I'd add is Mercy of the Gods by James S A Corey
Ooh, that sounds cool! I'll definitely add that to my list. Thanks for the rec! 😁
Congrats on the thesis!!
Thanks! 😄
Love the cats. Glad you got to have a relaxing weekend!
I love that getting into junji ito his artwork is awesome also I think you will find enjoyment in reading blame for its unique world building 👷♀️ 😀 and as a bonus I don't if this story is true or not but I find it very interesting and very disturbing have you heard or read a manga called psd radio 😮the backstory of the manga artist I think you might want to read as well
I haven't heard of Blame, I'll have to check it out! I think I've heard of PTSD Radio, and it sounds super creepy. It's definitely on my list to try! 😁
Trust me the backstory of the artist himself is equally as disturbing its said he had to cancel writing the psd radio for the fact he was cursed by writing the story's I don't know if you actually believe in curses but it's said that's the reason why he stopped making the series because of a curse 🤔 🤷
So i remember Runyx getting in trouble because she apparently generated her cover rather than actually editing or getting pictures, but is this a new cover? I feel like this is a new cover Neeeevermind, you just answered my question-
I think this is a new cover on the trad pub version. I wasn't aware that there was an AI-related issue with the indie cover, but somehow I'm not surprised 😂 I probably wouldn't have noticed that this cover was AI generated (I didn't look at it that closely), but I saw emmaskies on TikTok made a couple of in-depth videos about it
i really need a distraction from being sick so this seems awesome :D
fingers crossed it's a good distraction, and I hope you feel better soon!
Great recommendations!
Thanks! 😊
this is an amazing video omg
Thanks! 😊
Hope you have an amazing reading month! Looking forward to your thoughts on Decagon House Murders ^-^
Thanks! :)
Thank you so much for joining us again this year. Looks like a fantastic TBR, I really hope you enjoy them.
Thanks for hosting such an awesome readathon! I'm keeping my fingers crossed these books are as good as I think they are 🤞
When you bought this did you do any research between this and the kindle scribe? If so, what made you choose the ReMarkable over Kindle Scribe?
I did a little bit of research on the Scribe before buying the ReMarkable, and I ultimately chose the ReMarkable because it seemed like the reviews for the Scribe weren't great (although that may have changed now that the device has been out for a little while), and because I was more interested in note-taking than reading. I already have a Kindle Paperwhite, so I didn't necessarily need another device for reading. Also, it's way easier to add PDFs to the ReMarkable, and since I read a lot of articles for school, that feature is particularly helpful.
Good use, I use mine for school and work also. I add school PDF’s. Glad you are enjoying it. I’ve had a mine reMarkable as a pre-order 2020, so long term user. Just remember it is a NOTEBOOK replacement and compliments your other devices. It’s not an iPad or e-reader although you can read on it very well so far from the epubs I’ve added.
Hey if you're interested there's a new english manga publisher called StarFruitBooks & they've got a horror line called Blood Oringe, they've got a few licenses that most have never heard of before what's out rn is Wonder House of Horrors, Panama of Hell & Town of Pigs there very interesting reads.
tks for sharing! im starting with horror manga too, i think ill try with the 3 of them because im not sure what i like in ni horror manga yet. it would be nice if you share your opinions when you continue reading other volumes of these tittles :) saludos desde México <3
Thanks for watching! 😊I will definitely be sharing my thoughts on future volumes as I'm able to get to them. I highly recommend trying these if you're wanting to explore horror manga, I thought they were really fun (except Killing Stalking lol) and so different from each other
don't you need a monthly plan to use it?
Ah, yeah, that's a good point, I had forgotten about that. I don't think you *have* to have the plan, but it gives you access to the apps, unlimited cloud storage, and extended device protection. I'd forgotten about it because the new ReMarkable comes bundled with 1 year free so you can try it out. After that it's like $3USD per month
You don’t need a monthly plan to use it, the connect plan gives you a few features you might find valuable. Personally, I feel like it’s really the extended warranty (gives you three year warranty with the connect plan). The connect plan is currently free for 1 year and then $2.99 a month. You can visit their website to see the benefits of the connect plan. Again, it’s not required. Also, you have to soft tap the device, as Wholehearted Me on TH-cam will remind you, your actions such as swipe its like tissue paper. She is swiping and touching it way too hard.
Well, you piqued my interest so I went and read Shibatarian. Not bad! It seems like the story is about to wrap up in the next few chapters? At least it feels that way to me. Unless it will keep going with something else, like Chainsaw Man did.
Yeah, I agree, I think it feels like it's about to wrap up soon. I think the author said in an interview somewhere that they wanted to keep the story short
I only listened to your thoughts on Phantom Tales because I still haven't read Killing Stalking and I may want to read the other one, but I'm so glad you enjoyed Phantom Tales! It is one that my daughter and I are really enjoying. I think I want to do a complete read through once the series is completely released because I do feel like I missed/forgot somethings due to the waiting between volumes. All of the covers are so gorgeous also ^-^
I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on Killing Stalking whenever you get to it! 😁 Phantom Tales is so fun, I'm definitely looking forward to reading more of it, and I'm glad to hear you both are still enjoying it. That bodes well. And I agree, the covers for the series are beautiful 🤩I'm impressed by all the detail in the cover art
Hello, I’m Partner™️, PLEASE check out Shibatarian if you’re into horror. I guarantee that you will not read anything else like it anytime soon.
