You can tell by putting a endoscope in a cylinder throught the sparkplug. The coolant woukd have steam clwaned the cylinder and you would see no carbon deposit. Also the exhaust will smoke a lot and smell like coolant. Check for leaks maybe a plastic coolant housing is leaking new cars make coolant go through plastic parts
