Literally the brigade climbing out the foam looked like ghost busters after they destroyed pilsbury marshmallow man 😂😂😂
Whoa you went to ni?
Yh for a college trip so could film any trains sadly
@@rhysrobertstransportationa1668ah ok
Avanti trains don’t go to Wrexham they go to Chester then Crewe
@@ajjan9430 they do go to Wrexham, there’s one in the morning and one in the evening
0:01 - Oh doggie!!
Always loved episodes that ended with a really great, exciting, hard work and successful shout like this. The amazing closing theme and credits fading in, always felt like a boss rubber stamp on a successful job well done.
You caught Grantley actually smiling?? Good job
Big aplauz ❤❤❤❤
I liked the way Nick always took over and did the dirty work, when the only effective method contravened regs. The cold store and substation rescues were other good examples of his maverickism.
I remember this it was filmed in Woolwich on top of Sainsbury’s car park
Wow... It must have been 30 years ago that I watched this on television... I've always remembered these scenes. Thanks for this upload!
I believe this scene was, if not entirely, almost entirely, based on an actual real-life Fire Brigade mistake of this kind.
Persons reported, make pumps - quite a lot!
(Everyone's got rice and some noodles) "Some horrible Chinese gag" (In a deep answer, stern voice) "You're a horrible gag"
why do thry not hove their visors down
I'm not a arsonist but the guy at the beginning was doing it all wrong
03:30. 😂😂 - (Fully laden with a rescue crew and gear, let's fly in the completely opposite direction of the shout so that we can then do this really excessive right rolling 180 drop turn back towards the direction of the shout, just because it looks cool). You gotta love the unrealistic hype of TV sometimes. 😂
The series had long previously jumped the shark and suffered a massive drop in quality before its end. The show's budget, quality of the writing, the characters, the shouts/rescues and general action and the special effects had all nose dived off a cliff, and it's final season (season 14) was incredibly bad.
"Would you credit it?" "I'll get the takeaway orders guv, what do you want guv?" "Anything as long it is GRUB!" Probably one of my favorite lines of the evening, apart from the Ho Chi Minh mix-up. As Kevin looks like a zombie when saying "Nah,"
Bit cheeky going to peoples windowz to fight the fire
Absolutely typical the old bill wasn't there when you need them and when you do need them they turn up late to the party
5:17 Clingfilm?
His actual name was Vernon Chivers. Clingfilm was the nickname given to him by his watch. Nicknames are common in the brigade. Unlike the nicknames of other characters, it was never actually revealed in the show why he'd been given the nickname clingfilm. But the most likely reason is because he was an unpopular, boring, annoying, irritating, socially clumsy and clingy person with no personality who couldn't read a room or take a hint and was awkward to be with and get rid of.
Some of the fires must be really hard to film
"Looks like a nasty one Guv, it's going to be a long night Bayleaf"
nicely done good job it depicts how it looks like when a real propane storage area is ablaze
Had an opticians go up close to where my nan lived. There were gas cylinders, plus oxygen cylinder that went up,it was on the main shopping street,my nan lived 50 yards ftom it in her house.
this episode was in 2 parts if my memory serves me correctly first half the explosion the second half the aftermath
@@jasinere35 yeah the second half covered all the first half anyway though
So is this based on a true incident ?
based on the texas canister storage facillity
Don't think it's a water rescue incident mate.
They were getting changed into water gear
"I'm going to ask you again, I've got to send my men back in there, guv, your not going to take her word, shut up"
Hooligans vs. Firefighters.
The pump that was blown up was one that was stripped down completely, I was there helping to strip it down at Blues and two's in Hampshire.
Sunday nights 🌙 😊
For those that dont know that wasn't Echo 441 that was another Rs the real 441 is at a pumphouse museum
Got someone's wardrobe stuck on the front....
Wow, nice upload! I remember watching this when it was a brand new episode, I never thought I'd see it again.
That poor Dennis gone but not forgotten. Also what made me laugh is when the command officer turned up and said what's the situation mate you can clearly see what the situation is
Yes. November 1994. One of the best. It's like the blitz out here!
This did occur for real in London and a cylinder did KO someone but didn’t blow up a Pump. Burning took the incidents to a more sensational level. I doubt anything would get made like this now with all the elf and safety.
30 years ago, was helping hereford and worcester fire brigade when this was shown
Yes, finally this shout is on TH-cam!

Incredible stunt work and special effects.
Very entertaining but massively unrealistic. Never once did they put water directly on or anywhere near the gas bottles. In reality, they'd constantly and absolutely drench all the gas bottles with water to continuously protect them from the heat of the fire and keep them cool to prevent them from continuing to explode.
what would happen is as above however. in some cases firefighters would retreat until safe to continue firefighting.
Incomiiiiing!
Not so, this happened with a family owned business back in 2002 after it was a victim of arson. They chose to evacuate the surrounding area and shut the motorway next to it until they believed it was safe to go in, it was on the local news channels that night. Fortunately there were no explosions as the over-pressure relief valves did their jobs.
That's partly to do with the production method, as due to how the fires were made, they can't actually put water on them otherwise they'd instantly go out, there was a behind the scenes making of documentary about the show which was released with it's 4th season I think, which talked all about this. I'm relatively sure it's on TH-cam at the moment. Not to say you're wrong about how the situation might be handled. Although my assumption of the situation is that it's far too out of control for them to get nearer and so are trying to control it the best they can from a distance, since they do proceed nearer as the number of bottles lessens
The part I never understood is how that Motorbike started all that, it wasn't from a hot exhaust as it hadn't had time to warm up, so how? Anyone with knowledge?
From what i can recall and it was a LONG time ago, i'm only going off what I saw on the TV. The canister had its value knocked off so leaking the gas. The guy on motorbike kicked started it maybe that was suppose to be spark that ignited the gas. That was my humble take on how it started.
@@johnbower7452 hi it must have been a mot failure and an accident waiting to happen...and im full of 💩😂... hope that puts a smile on your face 👍
@@INCDZONE Was it a 2 stroke engine? They are renowned for backfires, that's the only thing I can think of.
@@timbert4672 not being a bike fan i couldnt tell you if it was or not. What i seem to remember he was trying to start bike and on the final "kick" we see the gas around the exhaust set alight maybe that was suppose to be as you say backfire.
@@INCDZONE A backfire generally requires a hot exhaust though like the OP said, maybe it was hot already from earlier use. I’m not too familiar with bikes either but I do have a passing familiarity with 2 stroke engines from past experience working with tools which use them and on occasion having to fix them, they are quite prone to fuel leakage into the exhaust because of the way the single piston design works. It’s still a long shot in the dark for it to ignite a propane leak like that but what the hell, it’s a television show where the worst case scenario always happens.
They couldn't film this in London London due to Intense Ariel Activity : Civilian and Military aircraft flying above so what was the alternative....... WELL they chose the former RAF RECRUIT TRAINING BASE AT RAF SWINDERBY IN LINCOLNSHIRE... AKA BOMBER COUNTY. Now I'm a 100% GENUINE YELLOW BELLY ( RESIDENT OF LINCOLNSHIRE ALL MY LIFE 1961 TO PRESENT), we are ferociously proud of our heritage and history of the RAF both fighter jets and... And heavy bomber aircraft... Vulcan nuclear bomber, Lancaster bomber, Victor and valiant bomber and more super sonic jets than you can possibly fathom, English electric lightning, tornadoes, and so on. If any of these was hit by any of those gas cylinders just casually en route to say RAF WADDINGTON the catastrophic explosion would wipe out a damning huge chunk of Lincolnshire and more depending on what it was carrying in its bomb bay!!!!, so it's that classic North V South epic battle yet again... ps on a lighter note some of the production crew stayed at my local during filming and what a fine and funny bunch they were to, it's a shame it ended because it was an incredibly popular drama but I guess it's all down to money unfortunately that killed it off
@@grahammaguire404 they used the site for a lot of other scenes like the coach crash and appliance crash
@@rhysrobertstransportationa1668 hi yes your absolutely right ,it's quite surprising what has been filmed in Lincolnshire, tom hanks in the de vinci code filmed in our magnificent cathedral, and going back in time the dam busters at RAF SCAMPTON and at RAF WADDINGTON SEAN CONNERYS JAMES BOND THUNDERBALL, the list is extremely long and distinguished ( Tom Cruise top gun quote sorry couldnt resist that 😂) TBC
Absolution on. This was the Aimans married quarter patch at RAF swinderby. Did my basic there in the early 80s. Loved the area so much, I still live there. Sadly, not very much left there now but it is a thriving housing estate. Those houses sold for about 30k. Well built and maintained!
If I remember correctly these scenes were filmed in the old married quarters at RAF Swinderby in Lincolnshire.
I remember reading in the press it was RAF base but cant remember the name
Rip fire engine
Good how they filmed that scene FP
i give the cast and crew massive credit for these scenes, it must have cost a lot of money with all these explosions, George certainly got lucky as Jaffa took his place
