Dodge Ram Rain Water Leak On Passenger Floor - Solved
Water has been dripping onto the passenger floor of my 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 for awhile and it's been frustrating trying to figure out where it's coming from. It was definitely just water - not anti-freeze - so I knew it wasn't the heater core. I ruled out the A/C compressor condensation drain backing up into the cabin and I finally tracked down the problem.

Lexus RX350 Vibration Noise Problem Solved
มุมมอง 95K4 ปีที่แล้ว
I finally tracked down the cause of an incessant vibration noise at idle or very low speeds coming (seemingly) from inside the dashboard of our 2015 Lexus RX350. The problem, in our car, ended up being inside the engine compartment - with the vibration transferring through the firewall behind the instrument cluster.
How to fix?
I used silicone caulk to "glue" it into place
Bro spreading the Lumussy💀
Damn dude that was really funny i laughed so much i also turned into a skull emoji .
The time it takes you to go and get that metal thingi and take it back and start to tuck the wire. Iv already tucked 10 wires
You're amazing! Thanks for letting me know! 😊
My dad showed me this working on my jeep, but he used a paperclip...
That's great advice
I always just use my thumb and fingertips. Damn. Should have made a stupid video
Wire zipper
That is an awesome tip! Thanks for that!
Bend the loom in an arch with the opening to the outside of the arch and push the wire into it ....goes in no problem....👌.
Also an awesome way to do it! If you need to add a wire to a loom that's already installed and don't have the room to bend it though, the cotter pin method works well for that!
Fixed 2nd gen rx thanks to your video, problem was almost the same
Nice fix !!! , you never know how your car was taken care of by previous owners
I will also check mine. It's RX 350. As Bridgestone said my car is driving perfectly but i can still hear something ratting. Thank you for this.
Thank you!! You just saved me hours and hours of pulling my hair out!!
Glad I could help!
Awesome!
Great video. Do you know what years it covers. i have a 1999 2500.
I do not. I only know it fixed the problem on my 2005 Dodge Ram
I have the same car witht hat same issue. This may be the fix.
Thank you. I have also been chasing this leak for years. Only when it rains real hard.
I have a similar noise in my 2019 NX. I will look into this. Thank you!
Need a video of the actual repair please. I put sealant all around it but didn't pull it off. Still wet carpet
I'm sorry - I no longer own this truck. I would think if you cleaned that windshield locating block well and sealed 100% all the way around it (even without removing it), it would take care of the problem. Try pulling up that metal foil above the air intake and make sure there are no holes that may be funneling water towards the intake. That's a direct path through the firewall into the cab. Good luck
Yeah that's what I need to see
Thank YOU !!!!! I’m having that issues
Been chasing this leak for years. It started off small and became a big problem just recently. This was the fix! Thank you for posting this video!
That's awesome! I'm glad this helped solve the problem!
How hard is it to put the wipe back on? I've got the same problem and I'm looking for the leak now and want to try this but don't want to mess anything up and cause more problems
The wiper cowl can be a little tricky to remove but everything goes back together fairly easily
Giar select
That is a great find! Thank you for sharing the information! My son and I both have Rams and we do our best to take good care of them.
I found a puddle on the passenger rubber mat of my 04 2500 2 days ago after a heavy rain. My goodness, I'm so thankful you took the time to post this. I'll be pulling the cowl tomorrow. Thanks, Gary.
I found out my leak was actually coming in through one of the cabin exhauster vents behind the back seats
Amazing! Thank you!
mine is leaking on the drivers side 2016 3500 single cab and I just had the windshield replaced I figure that it's close to this same issue, wish I had a garage to take it all apart. It is totally annoying had the rear window leaking on the passenger side had to fill that corner with calk and glue the rubber on the roof panel replaced all the marker lights calked all the screws bought adhesive pads for under each light to ensure that wasn't' the issue. To be honest this sux and every manufacture has some B.S. issue. would love to buy a vehicle and not have to fix such stupid design issues.
Oh man, sorry to hear this. I'm not sure where a leak on the drivers side would be coming in. I've never had that issue. Good luck!
Gary! - This video saved me, THANK YOU! - anyone know the part number for that block ? I cracked mine and ended up covering the hole with aircraft grade aluminum tape (all I had around at the time)... if anyone has that part number or at least the official name of the part so I can source it on my own - I would greatly appreciate it!
I'm glad the video helped! Sorry, I do not know the part number of the block - maybe stop by a dealer and ask? I'm sure they can give you the number
Thanks. I'm going to do this today. Great work thanks
You go on about stuff not pertaining to subject
Ok just say what it is. Not what others said and its wrong. Dang
Thanks a million Gary, like you I saw all the videos of the AC drain hose but mine was draining fine. Worried it might be the windshield, till I saw your video. Was able to access the plastic support without removing entire cowl, by loosening passenger side of cowl only. Resealed the mount , just had torrential downpour here in Fl., dry as a bone , thanks again !!
Awesome! Glad this fixed it!
Having the same problem with my 98 Dodge Caravan. Car wash or rain my carpet gets soaked under glove box. No one able to fix. This sounds like the answer! Thank you!
Just replaced the cowl seal and looked at that block telling myself to pull it off and seal it but nooooooo got up this morning after I dried the floor and put a fan in puddle of water. I guess I’ll be pulling the Cowell off again.
How exactly did you remove the block? Is it only held on the silicone?
That block has a peg on the back that is inserted into a hole just below the bottom edge of the windshield. You'll have to pry the block off, trying not to break the peg off (the block is used to position the windshield on installation)
@@garylivinthegoodlife9259 thanks for the fast response! I’ll be doing this very soon!
I saw this video and for some reason thought nah that's not it, but it was.. 2008 RX350. Replaced all four struts, and did a front end kit and replaced the rack and pinion since the boot was torn. Anyway, at least it is good on maintenance for a while, lol. Oh and yeah, I used a noise master tested engine, transmission, radiator, intake manifold, exhaust, control arms, brakes, struts, tierods, rack and pinion, etc... found many plastic pieces missing clips that were making some noise but not THIS one!!! Thanks for posting.
Ty vm! Will be looking at this soon as the rain stops!
HA! This has been driving me nuts the past two months trying to figure out where the water is coming from onto my front floor mats of my 2018 1500. I'll give it a shot.
Great video. Thank you.
Thank you Gary for your help! She’s been wet a long time. It’s has been all wet and sweaty on the inside long before I noticed the wet spot in the floor. Once I get a warm day, I will pull it apart and stop this leak! Again, thank you and have a very Merry Christmas 🎄
Thank you
Thanks very much for the video. The last couple days it rained very hard here and my Passenger side floorboard became a pond.
Had my windshield replaced a couple years back and I’ve had this EXACT issue intermittently with heavy rains. Going to investigate and give it a shot. Thank you for this info!
I’m having sloshing noises in my dash I think it’s trapping in the 2nd PCM outlets… hope this is the problem
Good job mate
Man I’m going to do this after work today. It’s been a pain in the ass trying to track this down
Leaks like this drive me nuts. I always heard there was some kind of drain by the firewall that gets plugged up - B.S. I could never find any drain so I kept digging till I found this problem. It's never leaked since I fixed mine! I hope it works for you too (remember - that wiper cowling is 2 pieces and can be a bugger to get off)
Awesome bro. Om having the same trouble with mine and i was about to pull the whole dash out but. I will check that tomorrow
I hope this stops your leak!
There is also a pinch weld on the top of the windshield on the passenger side that rusts out. You have to remove your windshield to fix that one. Horrible design flaws on these trucks
thanks i just bought mine whichis on its way from interstate.hope i dont have any issues
My was my light in the back on the cab.
I have the same vibration and found same problem. Thanks a lot. You've saved me a lot of trouble and ₦₦₦
Good to hear!
