Here's my opinion - The Man Utd v Chelsea rivalry from 2005-11 was better and bigger than the Man City v Liverpool rivalry from 2018 to 2022

Martin Atkinson was as always trying to win Chelsea the FAcup with that refereeing performance in ManUtd vs Portsmouth FAcup QF. Inadvertently made Pompey strong favourites instead after Barnsley knocked Chelsea out unexpectedly later thar day out of his control but the intention was clear looking at his record for Chelsea and the list of terrible decisions he's favoured them with in so many big games for them.

You know it's old when they're talking about 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 like they were the only formations
so that was actually all the media. But teams back then also played a fluid 2-3-5 in attack or 4-1-3-1-1 or 4-5-1 out of possession. That was the hallmark of Sir Alex and Don Carlo, but the media were not with the times and just portrayed things on paper as a 4-4-2 formation.

Was a rough way for Chelsea to lose it, but this was a great United team and they deserved something for their 2007-2009 form and overall quality. Plus, Chelsea had their own victory a few years later, and I don't think they'd swap it for another win. If you take any bitterness away, both sides came out as winners in the long run (though there was only one winner on this particular occasion, obviously)
It would have been perfect if after Chelsea's heartbreak in 2008, although United deservedly won, it would have been the perfect situation if we'd won it a year later after NOT being robbed vs Barca in the semi final and then getting revenge on United in the final in Rome 😂😂
