This song was the byproduct of an angry misguided uneducated non believer who was venting about his mother's unwavering faith...trust me her faith was far more powerful than this song could ever strive to be. And the Father rewards his faithful, here and in paradise. I pray you find your way back to the truth...the one who created and loves you, eternally. Read the book of Job if you want true inspiration.

​@@g.brooks5866 First of all, you attacking the songwriter here should embarrass you. "Uneducated" is a plain lie, and you said it out of nothing but spite. Have you no self-respect? Do you believe you were reasonable? You won't find much agreement here if you do. I read Job recently, by the way. In it, God allows Satan to torture a man and slaughter his family, for the sake of winning a bet. Winning this bet is more important to God than the lives of Job's family members; the ego of Yahweh is paramount here. Then, as a reward for Job's faith remaining intact through the torture, trauma and grief, Yahweh replaces that dead family with new people. Different wife, different kids, and that makes it all better, according to scripture. How do you not find this absurd and evil? Imagine if all the people you love were murdered because God wanted to prove a point and stroke his divine ego, but then God just gave you different people to love instead. Are you okay after that? Do you just forget your deceased family? Don't tell people to read Job if you aren't prepared for questions like this.

A hoodoo reading of it has it as a tale of jesus one of the greatest magicians since ancient times shaking the pillars of heaven and cheking out how far his mastery of magic can take him. A very enjoyable reading is one in which the old testament has documented the tussling and bargaining of supernatural enties who garner power through belief. The hebrews by definition were henotheists they knew of other 'gods' but believed that YHVH was the greatest. Covenants with the faithful and promised spoika for victories Desperation for sacrificial altars and pottioninv the spoils of war in prasie for the victory... The story of a plucky 'demon' who became a god If he was always allpowerful how come 'iron chariots' could cause him to worry and there is even a wrestling match with god before he was big enough to to be father, son AND holy Spirit... From back in the days when he was sometimes walkednin the garden of eden with 'his' two creations... If there werent othwr gardens or other creations around at the time then where did Cain's wife come from... Of it was only Cain and his parents in the world who did YHVH intend on cursing if *they* offed Cain _before_ the exile he had set had been endured for long enough? ... Clearly there were people in "the land of Nod, east of eden" Look up the midrash and jewish apocrypha... Lots of interestong reading and lots of fun slants to many stoties you have heard before

This song is not life, he is saying Fuck Jesus Christ, his mom was a women of strong faith, yet her God let her suffer and die. I pray he has met Jesus Christ in the way his mom did. I found Him at age 38
