At a lot of grounds it's okay for audio recording as long as there's no video of the grounds. although its respectful to ask before doing so. I personally don't like it if it's if not for personal use because it's that leaders prayer in the lead. Kinda like recording in a sweat logde and sharing to Facebook. Just my opinion tho

If you can dance to certain bests, I think it would prevent Alzheimers!!! You have to listen carefully. Just when you get used to dancing to the beat, they reverse it. It did a real number on my brain, and I play drumsets!!! I don't hear that particular beat here though. I heard it in a video from NC. I think it was Cherokee.

Having studied this, I can assure you that while the popularization of these dances as secular performance is at earliest a late 19th century phenomenon, - the dances themselves are inherited from colonial period dances synchretized with Catholic ritual. There are multiple colonial era manuscripts featuring circular dances like this with similar regalia being used as liturgical performance. The movement for these liturgical performances originated with dances performed by Indigenous North and Central Mexicans before the conquest. The regalia, movements, and context of the dances changed over time, because living cultures are always in movement - they are as authentic as everything else thats made it through centuries of colonialism - including that which has been perpetuated through comments like yours. If I was being totally honest, the whole process has some very close parrallels to the development of modern powwow dancing from earlier secular and ceremonial performances either enacted by individual communities or by communities coming together for reasons of trade, diplomacy, shared beliefs, etc. Don't bring your disrespect for my Chicano people or our relatives here.

@@amo4068 ¿QUE? ¿Qué quiere decir, "I can assure you."??? Por ejemplo, Sandra Garner, escribe (Aztec Dance, Transnational Movements: Conquest of a Different Sort) "la danza is a social, political, and religious movement that holds considerable appeal for the Mexican imaginary." imaginación.
