When the Merseyside-based Orchestra dell'Arte was formed in 2010 the vision was to create a very special orchestra drawing on the best and most experienced players in the region. These amazingly keen and talented musicians can work in a typical professional short rehearsal schedule prior to each concert to perform a very wide-ranging repertoire.

Flexible enough to play Bach, Beethoven and Beatles, the orchestra performs gala concerts, opera, ballet and film music, as well as chamber concerts for smaller ensembles across the region. It is the Orchestra in Residence at St George’ Hall, Liverpool.

With Liverpool a UNESCO Creative City of Music, the orchestra has created the first classical soloist exchange scheme between Liverpool and other similar UNESCO cities. To date there have been successful exchanges with Bologna and Hannover.
