That center console isn't plastic. Tesla has been very proud of saying it's real aluminum. It is plastic on the 2021-2023 cars.

I heard that the horn sound comes from the outside speaker and you can change the sounds. They said that even the outside temperature sensor was going away in favor of local downloaded weather? That’s going to be great when I’m in the mountains and there’s no cellular service! I wonder if the temperature will be blank or just plain wrong? I have wanted ventilated seats forever because I get a sweaty back and bottom in my vinyl seats. With Tesla you gain some and you loose some because it’s all about the bottom line.
We made the mistake by driving it and it’s superior to our 2018 Model 3 in almost every way. The headlights are led and they can do the latest stuff very soon.

The 2023 base has the 4 A pillers speakers disabled. If you get the hanshow wireharness you can enable them. It's an easy audio upgrade. I wonder how the sound would compare to the new 2024 base audio then.

can we plz have your review on the Polestar 2 LRSM RWD 😁 I do have a 2024 Model 3 RWD on order however, I feel on paper the Polestar seems like a compelling offer too.
Funny enough...we have a 2023 Polestar 2 Long Range Single Motor FWD in the greater family unit that I've spent time with and am planning to make a series of videos on! Now might be a good time to consider the Polestar 2, as Polestar just made the Long range Dual motor version available for the same price as a Long range Single motor ($7,500 off the dual motor and $2,100 off the single motor), especially since the Model 3 no longer-as of now-qualifies for federal tax credit. Have you test drove a Polestar 2 yet?
You didn't know that Elon named the Models to spell 'S3XY' in LEET? WOW. That was entirely purposeful. Not a bad comparison video at all, but I believe you are out of touch with Elon's choices and mass mistakes these days. Tesla is going downhill due to his choices, although, I don't mind the cars themselves and the sleek minimalist design notes. Just shocking how out of touch you are with Pop Culture and the crap that Elon is getting into. haha. Keep the videos coming.
Haha! We did in fact know, just thought it was funny how Tesla was displaying it loud and proud on the TV! Oh man, I feel you to my core re: Elon lately...trying to separate Elon from the rest of the people at Tesla and the cars themselves! I like to have a few essential manual controls (i.e. stalks), and I would miss my driver cluster display on my older MS. Otherwise, seems like a nice upgrade for the M3.
Agreed! No drive selector was no problem and easy enough...but no turn signal stalk is not as good in my opinion! Especially when the steering wheel isn't straight and you need to signal...it takes to long to compute where the turn signal button is and which one to press when you need it most!

Indeed you would, haha! In the case mentioned in the video...I need to indicate/signal coming out of a curve, where the wheel wasn't straight!
Is the new model 3 a smoother ride than the 2021 Model Y?
Yes, I'd say you can expect a smoother ride from the new refreshed 2024 Model 3 compared to a 2021 Model Y! 2023 Model 3 and 2023 Model Y have a revised, more comfortable suspension compared to earlier model years...but this 2024 Model 3 rides even better than the 2023s!

I drove the Dual Motor today in pretty heavy rain on the freeway and it was great. I really needed ventilated seats as my back gets very sweaty in vinyl seats.
Love that demo drives seem to be widespread, now, for everyone to experience the refresh! Tesla ventilated/cooled seats work so well!
I had them blowing high! Funny thing is that everyone that has them that I know, mostly in Lexus leather seats, don’t use them because generally speaking women are often cold and are not got to getting sweaty backs!
The Shanghai Version steering wheel gets to hot for me. Funny that the US model only gets warm. But I didn't realize there are different levels of heating!
Super interesting re: your Shanghai-built refreshed Model 3! But seriously, though, this Fremont-built one only gets warm on heat setting 2!

Interior definitely looks slightly more premium. Not "luxury" but definitely premium!
I have ambient lighting in my 2024 Cadillac Lyriq AWD. Mercedes has had it for the longest and now "regular cars" are getting it. Really helps the car feel more futuristic.

I remember when tesla said the point of highland would be to reduce costs... I figured with the new upgrades they would need to take from somewhere else, especially with them keeping the price the same. I am good with my midnight silver 2023 model 3 rwd(white interior). Highland has some upgrades I would like, but with the downgrades its not making me feel like i am missing out like that. I do like the ultra red rwd model you looked at more than the dual motor though. That model matches it's price point better than the dual motor with the amount of plastics I am seeing...
Right, you can feel the cost reduction in certain part of the interior-mainly in the center console materials/area-and see it with the absence of stocks. LOVE that the price(s) remain the same as the outgoing 2023 Model 3, though! Just like you, we're happy with our 2023 Model 3 RWD, but overall I think this refreshed 2024 Model 3 is a markedly better vehicle (especially with it's even quieter cabin, improved ride quality, stellar speakers, and comfy cooled seats) than the outgoing one!
That interior stuff is has metal trim in the new model 3 your old model 3 has plastic

Right! Pretty darn certain it is plastic, especially after spending time in the new refreshed 2024 Model 3 on 3+ occasions so far. Regardless, the 2024 Model 3 has lower quality center console and trim materials to the touch and visually compared to the outgoing 2023 Model 3, in my opinion!
@@drive2five I agree about the center console but haptics and materials I consider way better than my 2020 M3.
@@drive2five so I had another look and its even different then we taught! The part of the console that you touch, the handle, is plastic BUT the whole grey surface of the console is aluminum! 😳 so is the same looking part of the air vents - aluminum. Only the silver part in the steering wheel is plastic. Thats strange isn't it?
