Definitely Adam... Thanks for the video... İ bought them today :)
Dat beard.
I don't understand why you're calling it phase cancellation, Wouldn't the final EQ be just like a bell with a high shelf?
Awesome!
Which social do you post the submission notifs on? I want to submit one of my recent tracks and get some tips.
Both IG and TikTok
Awesome! Followed on IG!
I have nothing against samples in principle. But I just hate how modern and processed it immediately seems to make drums sound. I’ve never heard samples added without that effect. I guess that sound just isn’t for me though🤷
To be fair, if the drums are well recorded to begin with I very rarely feel the need to add samples. But when I get some drum tracks that sound like ass, I have to do something 😂
@@primroseproductionsmusic yeah, definitely a no harm no foul situation As long as the artist is aware of the use of samples and is happy with that sound. I definitely reject the idea that using samples is cheating or anything like that. In my mind it’s no different then using a keyboard or any other electronic instrument.
Amazing video! Short, clear and to the point 👌
yeah.. it's cool. I basically started with one of these in every track to simulate the console workflow.. right after the NLS (neve console) and a tape "saturation"..froze those and went on wit the SSLs and went from there
I like the Adams a lot more but my local music shop has a brand new pair of HS7’s for $400 so I gotta pull the trigger on them
It’s actually “4000 E-Channel”.
I wish you could help me but the stuff I have I’ve already released namely A song called Eisheth by AMPtimus on TH-cam ,but I’m sure there is plenty to pick out as I’m relatively new to mixing my music about 2 years in and I’ve learned a lot from you and love your content.
please learn to cut man... holy hell
Came from IG, i think #374 needs to come out the woodwork and have some channel marketing. The AIC knockoffs are too few and far between, and your "quick fix" 18 db boost made the vocals sound good enough to work on this
Thanks @BlackDHide. I came to Zack for advice because "I am learning to "produce" myself because I can't afford pro production", like a lot of people who come to him for advice. And while he was def harsh how he critiqued my track, I totally get what he said. I understand what is wrong with the track. It does need fixed. I didn't know. That's why I came to him for help. My only thing is, it was like, you should already know this( no offense Zack) when that is the whole reason I'm asking for help 😂
@@eastofanthony im not a professional but i wouldnt mind helping you creat music. I also have someone who is a very good producer who is just starting out but pays for classes and has certifications. Post a social media link here and ill shoot you a dm of you want to work on a side track or two. Im not interested in charging, i just want to make a bit of fun music since i dont play live anymorr
also we need some vocals - alot of people will consider a song unfinshed with no vocals
ur half right - its not a loudness thing its more like the bass needs to cut thru more at 850 - 950, i always keep the bass under the snare and the snare needs a bit more at 2-4k - i wouldnt sacrifice any guitar tone tho possibly clean up a little more of the high hats at thoes ranges
I heard a good tip is to scoop the mids heavily
2:53 *The SMH 😂
This is a great video about these monitors! I had been on the fence about the t7v's comparing them for months against other 6.5"-7" monitors. In my studio they have to sit almost against the wall behind the glass so it's been difficult picking between rear ported and front ported. I have a sub so I'm not sure what I'm in for, but ill probably give these a shot now. Thanks!
Breakin time? The new driver sounds very tight.
Love your stuff bother, hope to hear you review my crappy mixes lol😂
Essentially you're getting chorus or flange without using chorus or flange (delay lines). I would still save time and record once with either a Wet/Dry setup (dry signal on left, wet on right or vice versa), or Wet/Dry/Wet with Wet panned hard left/right, and dry in the center speaker or mixed in the center w/ left and right speakers. Vary the delay lines (whether it's chorus/flange, reverb/delay/echo) between right and left with different speakers between left and right. No right or wrong way here, just more tools to have in the bag for the flavor you want.
Berhinger makes some really good cheap mics like the xm8500 its only $20
Hosa produces the noisiest cables
I’d be really interested to learn more about that; could you provide some examples with actual measurements in controlled environments?
Dude. Thank you so much for the volume warning
What about doing more than two? What if you do three with one in the middle? Or two halfway to the sides and the other two all the way? Are those common techniques as well?
Yeah lots of people will do those too
I couldn’t find the “taking the kick snd the snare” video
These are all old videos from my TikTok and Instagram, so if I’m referencing a specific video in these it’s probably on there
@@primroseproductionsmusic Ohhh I see thank you.
what are you listening for when you talk about a good source tone
That’s kinda hard to answer because I don’t necessarily have generalized descriptors of what a shit sound is, and it’s gonna be different for every instrument. For guitars? I don’t want it too thin or harsh sounding, nice full midrange without being too muddy. For bass? I want to hear that upper mid bite as well as a nice full low end. For drums? I want the drums to be tuned well and hit right, lots of top end attack with a huge bottom end
I don’t agree with everything he says but there is lots of good insight along the way
Copying the one track on to the 2nd track ....and delaying the 2nd a bit also do the trick....pan them left n right..
Now you video on phase and how it works
I put out a video on phase vs polarity a week or two ago
Hey man I've got my HP laptop volume at 65% and youtube volume at about 20% and it sounds like you're yelling.
Honest question- is this an ideal guitar tone? My immediate gut says it's muddy and inarticulate, but I also have no idea what I'm trying to do here- is this what I should aspire to or should i go for something tighter/lower gain/more focused?
Definitely wasn’t the best tone 😂
I honestly loved it but it could use tweaks and more brightness. I think higher octaves would compliment very nice
Even better: Use two different guitars, different amps, different tones in general.
Changing the tone creates a different effect. Same tone creates a stereo effect but different tones are obviously two different takes hard panned left and right. Imo, same tone sounds much better. It creates a fuller tone that sounds like one guitar with stereo effects. Different tones compete for attention and it’s distracting to me.
If you don’t have different amps, you can use different speakers or cabs instead.
@@redhorsereincarnated5040 Distracting?? You WANT that attention seeking element in music. Especially when you have the guitars playing almost the same line anyway. When you make records you don’t want to make it homogenous and boring but exciting! …At least it used to be that way.
I could hear the difference without headphones. Its subtle, but it sounds fuller.
Right on, gonna try this later. Great video
Nice examples:) I've heard duplicating a track and adding a few milliseconds of offset can work for doubling guitars. Do you have any input on that?
Not quite the same thing. It can work in a pinch, but there's a huge difference between a set short delay and two entirely separate tracks with their own subtle timing, dynamics, etc. Unless it's entirely not an option, it's typically best to have two separately recorded guitar tracks.
Don't do that, it sounds horrid lol
Haha yup, don’t plan on it
I've used that technique with great success on solos.
if u do that and listen to it in mono (or to a lesser extent with speakers) you will have accidentally put a comb filter on ur track with the fundamental determined by delay time
how do you rip from Spotify
I don’t, I won’t review anything that’s been released already, a Spotify link is an instant disqualification
@@primroseproductionsmusic I could have sworn I heard you say that in this video. Maybe Im wrong. I was thinking mainly for use as reference tracks but inside the DAW. I have paid subscriptions to HD music streaming platforms but can’t actually analyze the music or level match easily bc I cant get the music in the DAW.
Randy rhoads did the thriple track
Actualy he quadrupled his track
@@patomibii7431 In one take
Using the exact same settings on 2 different amplifiers is not the ideal way to compare them...
It’s a 3 year old video man, we all learn as time goes on 😂😂
@@primroseproductionsmusic it took you 3 years to understand that?! You seems pretty dumb...
Cool!!! Thanx for the info!!
Appreciate the info, I'm rockin w you bro. Subscribed.
HOw about the reliability of the BUGERA ?
I never had any problems with it. I know the original line had a tendency to catch fire, but the infinium versions haven't had any issues
I've had my Bugera 333xl infinium for about 6-7 years, play it loud (a lot!) and is going just like it did on day one. I haven't even had to replace a tube on it either. If you want, you can throw any tubes you like in the infinium range without biasing. Best amp I've ever owned and I've owned expensive ones!
The top reggae bass players say to never change bass strings
Informative 😊, thanks mate
I like that you critique multiple kinds of genres, most channels I see mainly stick strictly to pop or metal
He's right..just ask Sabbath
Short, informative, and to the point. This is a nice video 👌
then you put a limiter on the master bus and compress the hell out of all that low end
The limiter I use has the same type of low end sidechain for the detector circuit that my bus compressors do
@@primroseproductionsmusic please do a video
I like how you made your own Multi-band compressor..they should make a plugin like that...:)
Show me a multiband 1176 and I’ll be all over it, but until then, I’ll keep doing it this way for the saturation as well as the compression
