3 Tips for Getting Better Recordings in Any Situation
The attention to detail on the recording is key to really hear the difference, well done. It's quite sad, that a legendary speaker like the V30 changes it's sound by dropping quality and changing from UK made to china made. Thoose before 2003 are great.. Everything after that got worst and worst to my knowledge. I mean, I don't want to say it's a bad sound, but you don't have the lows and it's much brighter. This can be great for few styles too. But you could just bring it as a V30 bright edition, which you can sell separately& cheaper. But just keep the original the same way.
Every time I try using other plugin compressors on drums my go to is always back to SSL Comp 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣!!! I have taught myself how to use plugin compressors accordingly with the type of songs I'm mixing. I may tap into hardware one day. I do mobile recording and mixing so that's why I love plugins but I wanna incorporate some other things. Thanks for this video!!!
Just asking, how does the acustica plugin stands against both of them. Please make video. Will be grateful.
I have a quad of hko2 ts2903b[wd]. I believe august 02, 2024 and 8ohm made in the UK. I won’t get around to installing them for a few days. But I’m hoping these speakers sound great.
Sounds amazing with an overdrive. I had this head for a long time and never used the front end, I always used a metal muff in the fx loop. Looking back I wish I wouldve utilized this amp with a proper od pedal.
Awesome, good job brother!
I be so much in my head doe😢
How do I send my own mix in
I was noticing that about my kick too. even after tooling the rest of the instruments to death and rushing my mix out for christmas I came back and noticed there was too much high end from the cymbals and still a little bit too much high end from the kick, had to cut off everything above 10K and do some mid dips but it sounded a lot better for uploading to bandcamp, etc
Its not Sennheiser its Audio-Technica )
you right, my bad, but it's like a 4 year old video, so 😂
How can we submit mixes to you for mix review?
the tone stage only works with the overdrive channel do your home work
Am i the only one really loving the bad sound in some of these?
424 really had an old school vibe really cool
Very nice review as I’m currently looking to buy my first home studio speakers to use for my home dj setup. Don’t want to invest in a sub as most likely I wont’t be able to use it due to my neighbours who will probably call the police. Currently I’m oscillating between the Adam T7V, Yamaha HS7 and KRK Rokit RP7 G5. Your review convinced me to eliminate the Yamahas, but I’ still think of those KRKs as well. Have you or anyone from here managed to try them? Some people mentioned that they sound better on the low ends than the Adams and have much more bass. I’m mixing Electronic, House, Deep House, DnB, Disco, Funk, Groove, NuDisco, Downtempo so not sure on which set of speakers my practicing and sets would sound better. P.S. Never had other studio speakers before and I’m also at the beginning in the art of Dj-ing. Any thoughts?
I wanna say that I appreciate you sharing your knowledge. I've been going through the videos and this channel is packed with high quality tips rivalling even the bigger gear YT channels. It's impressive work obviously created with some relentless passion and willpower. The tips I didn't learn anywhere else is that the same branded microphone doesn't sound the same and the importance of moving the cabinet around. I think it's a good foundation to when I buy my own hardware since I'm using only amp sims and modelers. Rock on!
Pretty eye-opening to hear how much of a difference a DI signal has on the sound. I'm using a JDI passive DI box for electric guitars (Passive Painkiller Bareknuckles set and Active EMGs set). I'm still struggling to evaluate whether it would be worth it to have one active DI box in my arsenal since no producer has complained about the DI signal from my JDI Passive. Could be that they're cursing in private.
Thank u 😊
One thing I learned from this video is that I'm fucking deaf, can't hear the difference. With closed eyes I can't tell when you switched the bypass off. God dammit, dj-ing really fucked me up.
Don't feel bad it's actually quite subtle try listening at a really low volume like if someone was talking you couldn't hear it. The house of kush has a great video hearing compression.
So aim for 2db comp with no make up ?
Those aren’t universal settings, there are no universal settings, dial it in for the song
to the point 10/10
I was A/B testing the Adam T7V and the Yamaha HS8 in the store. The Adam's blew the HS8s away in almost every category. Even the highs sounded smoother. I was trying to find fault with the Adams as the price is lower so I figured there has to be something bad about them. I was wrong. The T7Vs now sit on my desk in fact I am playing on them now with my guitar via Fractal FM3. Phenomenal.
Very mainstream pop sounding.
👍
398 with massive Kyuss vibes
I love this guy
400 was just painful to go through, not to mention the bass drop as well
Love it man🎉🎉🎉🎉

10:55 hahahaha
Patching mics through a TRS patchbay is never a good idea. When inserting/removing a TRS cable from a jack the pins are shorted, potentially damaging your equipment if phantom power happens to be turned on on the preamp. Yes, you can always make sure phantom power is turned off before making any connections, but someone WILL eventually forget to do so.
Shitty music you listen too
👍👍👍👍👍
Where can i send some of my stuff to get critiqued? Thanks sir
I think it´s an sfx of a can more than a click but still xd
Definitely Adam... Thanks for the video... İ bought them today :)
Dat beard.
I don't understand why you're calling it phase cancellation, Wouldn't the final EQ be just like a bell with a high shelf?
Awesome!
Which social do you post the submission notifs on? I want to submit one of my recent tracks and get some tips.
Both IG and TikTok
Awesome! Followed on IG!
I have nothing against samples in principle. But I just hate how modern and processed it immediately seems to make drums sound. I’ve never heard samples added without that effect. I guess that sound just isn’t for me though🤷
To be fair, if the drums are well recorded to begin with I very rarely feel the need to add samples. But when I get some drum tracks that sound like ass, I have to do something 😂
@@primroseproductionsmusic yeah, definitely a no harm no foul situation As long as the artist is aware of the use of samples and is happy with that sound. I definitely reject the idea that using samples is cheating or anything like that. In my mind it’s no different then using a keyboard or any other electronic instrument.
Amazing video! Short, clear and to the point 👌
yeah.. it's cool. I basically started with one of these in every track to simulate the console workflow.. right after the NLS (neve console) and a tape "saturation"..froze those and went on wit the SSLs and went from there
I like the Adams a lot more but my local music shop has a brand new pair of HS7’s for $400 so I gotta pull the trigger on them
It’s actually “4000 E-Channel”.
I wish you could help me but the stuff I have I’ve already released namely A song called Eisheth by AMPtimus on TH-cam ,but I’m sure there is plenty to pick out as I’m relatively new to mixing my music about 2 years in and I’ve learned a lot from you and love your content.
please learn to cut man... holy hell
Came from IG, i think #374 needs to come out the woodwork and have some channel marketing. The AIC knockoffs are too few and far between, and your "quick fix" 18 db boost made the vocals sound good enough to work on this
Thanks @BlackDHide. I came to Zack for advice because "I am learning to "produce" myself because I can't afford pro production", like a lot of people who come to him for advice. And while he was def harsh how he critiqued my track, I totally get what he said. I understand what is wrong with the track. It does need fixed. I didn't know. That's why I came to him for help. My only thing is, it was like, you should already know this( no offense Zack) when that is the whole reason I'm asking for help 😂
@@eastofanthony im not a professional but i wouldnt mind helping you creat music. I also have someone who is a very good producer who is just starting out but pays for classes and has certifications. Post a social media link here and ill shoot you a dm of you want to work on a side track or two. Im not interested in charging, i just want to make a bit of fun music since i dont play live anymorr
also we need some vocals - alot of people will consider a song unfinshed with no vocals
ur half right - its not a loudness thing its more like the bass needs to cut thru more at 850 - 950, i always keep the bass under the snare and the snare needs a bit more at 2-4k - i wouldnt sacrifice any guitar tone tho possibly clean up a little more of the high hats at thoes ranges
